The Origin of the Ring
By: MoonChildLisadel

A/N: This is a silly, but true, story. It is also an inside joke between some friends and I. I wear my ring every day, and to answer any questions: We were camping with a huge group of people. Watch for my new fic coming soon!

I stifled an irritated yawn. My friends were being so annoying! One of them was, anyway.

So what if I'm a good writer? That doesn't mean I have to do it all night. I just do it for fun.

I leaned over the edge of my bunk and observed Sara attempting to do gymnastic moves. Being an ex. cheerleader, gymnast, and many other things to boot, I knew she was fighting a lost cause. It took years of hard work and training for Shannon and I to learn it, and she wasn't going to get it overnight.

"Methinks," I said in a small voice, "You're fighting a lost cause." She didn't reply, and I went back to my fanfic. "And then..." I wrote. Then what? It's hard to write about vampires without a can of Sprite and some Girl Scout cookies. No use trying to be creative on an empty stomach.

"Will you come up here already?" I asked Sara as I climbed up. "The next chapter is done."

"Yay!" She jumped up and climbed the ladder onto Shannon's bed, stealing the notebook from my grasp.

"Can I read this?" Shannon asked, holding up my novel I'd been reading.

I shrugged. "Just don't lose my bookmark." and then added, "Wait. Give me the bookmark."

She threw it to me and I grabbed it. "My beloved Aragorn." I said with a fake sigh. Sara supressed giggles.

"Why don't you marry him?" She laughed. "Look, he's proposing to you!" she pointed to the ring that had come with the bookmark.

"I think I will!" I leaned back over the railing and called to Carly. "Hey Carly! What's Aragorn's last name?"

"He doesn't have one!" she called back.

I stared at my friends thoughtfully. "Sara, you're a witness and Shannon, you're the preistess."

"Huh? What's going on?" Shannon asked.

"I'm getting married to Aragorn!" I called out.

"I don't beleive it." she sighed. After much persuasion, she finally said, "I now pronounce you husband and wife." She turned to me. "You may now kiss the bookmark."

I kissed it and we all laughed. That was defenatly a night to remember.
