Disclaimer: Obviously I don't own any characters or the song, but, if I did
own Paul, you'd never ever see me again(
Beautiful Day
The heart is a bloom
Shoots up through the stony ground
There's no room
No space to rent in this town
You're out of luck
And the reason that you had to care
The traffic is stuck
And you're not moving anywhere
You thought you'd found a friend
To take you out of this place
Someone you could lend a hand
In return for grace
It's a beautiful day
Sky falls, you feel like
It's a beautiful day
Don't let it get away
Paul rolled over in the bed and groaned. He was not a morning person, and it didn't make him feel any better that the clock/radio was blasting some despicably annoying song in his ear. He squinted his eyes as Stephanie picked her head up off of his chest and smiled, looking into his face.
You're on the road
But you've got no destination
You're in the mud
In the maze of her imagination
You love this town
Even if that doesn't ring true
You've been all over
And it's been all over you
It's a beautiful day
Don't let it get away
It's a beautiful day
"What's wrong honey," she said laughing to herself. She knew why he was upset. He hated that song. God knows, he heard it enough when he was at work. She pulled his muscular arm down to the bed as he made an attempt to rip the clock/radio out of the wall.
"It's not bad," Steph said antagonizing him.
"Oh yeah?" Paul replied incredulously with a hint of annoyance in his voice.
Touch me
Take me to that other place
Teach me
I know I'm not a hopeless case
See the world in green and blue
See China right in front of you
See the canyons broken by cloud
See the tuna fleets clearing the sea out
See the Bedouin fires at night
See the oil fields at first light
And see the bird with a leaf in her mouth
After the flood all the colors came out
It was a beautiful day
"Yeah," she said slyly while sliding her hand southward, "it got you up didn't," her grin expanding by the second.
Paul's eyes suddenly bulged out of his head and he sprung to life, among other things, "It sure did," he said pulling her up for a deep kiss. "I change my mind," Paul said pulling away from her, "That's a pretty damn good song," he said as he rolled her over and lowered his head for another kiss.
Indeed, Paul had found himself proving to Stephanie that it would be a beautiful day.
Don't let it get away
Beautiful day
Touch me
Take me to that other place
Reach me
I know I'm not a hopeless case
What you don't have you don't need it now
What you don't know you can feel it somehow
What you don't have you don't need it now
Don't need it now
Was a beautiful day

A/N: Wow, I know that was really bad, I've never written a song fic before, I think I'll quantify this into the humor section
