Okay! An incredibly short little story! But my friends think it's cute. In Tk's POV, and well, I'm not too proud of this. But I don't know. Did you like it? Any spelling errors? Any screw ups? Okay, well, I'm finished blabbing. Please, read and review!

No Angel

By: Rio

Disclaimer: Do I seriously have to tell people this?

I sat next to Kari on the park bench. It was growing close to sundown - but neither of us seemed to notice. It had been a great day - we had gone to a carnival together, gone on rides, done all the usual stuff. I was worn out from the days activities, but Kari seemed to be on a sugar high from the bag of fairy floss she had bought herself. She was as scatty as ever. Squirrels, ice-cream, wind... everything seemed to interest her. Right now, she was focusing all her attention on a passing butterfly. I smiled at her goofiness.

ÒDo you know,Ó Kari started, not taking her eyes of the insect, Òthat every butterfly is just an angel in disguise?Ó

ÒI had no idea,Ó I said dryly. Kari didnÕt seem to notice the tone of my voice.

ÒDid you also know that every time you say ÔI donÕt believe in angelsÕ, an angel dies?Ó

ÒYouÕve been watching way too many Disney Movies,Ó I told her. She didnÕt hear me. She was watching a dog catch a frisbee that had been thrown by itÕs owner. She pointed to the dog.

ÒDo you know that we actually meet an average of three angels every day? I reckon that dog is an angel. You can tell. It practically flies when it jumps to catch the frisbee.Ó

"You seriously think we meet three angels every day?"

"Yeah! I saw it on 'Touched by an Angel'. So if it was on television, it must be true!" Kari exclaimed happily. I laughed.

"Are you sure you've got your facts straight?" I asked her. She nodded her head vigourously.

"Of course I know that! Every day I see Tai, my mom and my dad. I reckon that they are angels." Her innocent eyes started staring at me without blinking. "Who are your three angels?"

"My mom and Matt. Oh, and of course, you." Kari laughed.

"Yeah," she said, taking my compliment slightly seriously. I rolled my eyes. A caterpillar had now monopolised Kari's attention.

"I don't know what you've been on girl, but whatever it is, it's probably illegal," I commented as she picked up the furry caterpillar and tried to get it to crawl along the bridge of her nose. Kari pouted, and put the caterpillar back down on the ground.

"I'm not on anything, thank you very much. I must have been spending too much time with you. It's driving me crazy. Being next to you and trying to resist such a cute face, well, you can understand how much stress I'm under," Kari said, faking a sigh. A smile played on the corner of my lips.

Kari snuggled up to me on the bench as a strong wind blew past us. I noticed her shiver slightly. The black tank top she was wearing couldn't provide much warmth. I took of my jacket.

"Here," I said, handing her the jacket. "You need it more than I do."

Kari gratefully accepted the jacket, and slipped it over her shoulders. "Thanks, Tk."

"Any time. I mean, I wouldn't want my angel to get cold. Your wings might freeze." I joked with her. She giggled, and came closer to me. Her face was only inches from mine.

"I'm no angel, Tk."

We both chuckled lightly at the strangeness of the conversation we just had. Then, without warning, the last few inches between our lips disappeared.

And I would have to agree with Kari. Because, on that park bench, I can guarantee you, that was no angel kissing me.

Okee - cokee (pronounced: oh-key-co-key). That was very short and took about fifteen minutes to write. But it's not as bad as I was expecting it to be. Mind you, I was expecting a disaster bigger than World War 2. So it's not saying very much.

Okay, now please review!

Thanks everyone!
