I originally made this Fic and sent it to Pokémasters.Com, but it wasn't
too good, so I'm going to revamp it. Since I'm working on other Fics, this
probably won't be updated for a little while, but hey, you can't rush
stories. Don't forget to leave a review!
PROLOGUE
It was another day at the Indigo Plateau. Things had gone downward in the past few years. There was a sense of gloom hanging over the Elite Four.
Some two years had past since Ash Ketchum and his team of Pokémon defeated Gary Oak to become Champion. But as Ash took his leave to train in Mount Silver, things became even worse from there on, for the Elite Four at least.
The first case was Agatha. She came down with a horrible pneumonia and was very ill. She was unable to train and her Pokémon were feeling sad as well. All she could do is lay in bed and moan, knowing that she was going to die soon. It was a depressing matter, but nobody could do much.
Koga was filling in during the time Agatha lay sick, as hired by Lance himself. However, he did not fair all that well. Trainers were making quick work of him, and losses were going on constantly. Lorelei, Bruno and Lance did not come to like the amount of matches they had to fight. He was also getting news that his thirteen year old daughter, Janine, was constantly losing battles with her inexperienced Pokémon. By now, Soul Badges were as common on trainers as a simple Pokéball.
Lorelei was another problem. She was feeling insignificant and didn't want to do anything. Her attitude had become nasty and she just didn't care about anything. None of the others liked her much anymore now that she was no longer the sweet, sensitive person she once was, but now an obnoxious pest to the other trainers of the Indigo Plateau.
Bruno wanted the Elite Four to return to normal, but with Agatha's sickness, Koga's losing, Lorelei's snappiness and Lance's new attitude, he just couldn't do anything to help. He watched helplessly as the trainers who once stood pride and true were slipping, and steadily losing their way.
Lance, the leader of the Elite Four, was trying to hold everything together, but not matter how hard he tried, Lance just couldn't. No matter what his efforts he couldn't stop the dark spell coming over the Elite Four. He couldn't inspire them to do anything more. This was making things even worse, for Lance in specific. He turned to alcohol for dependence, drinking as many as seven or eight bottles of beer a night. The beer made him more violent and angry, his temper extremely short. To sum it up, he was like a time bomb, just waiting to explode. He had become fed up with the others, with the Plateau and with Pokémon. he was fed up with life.
And thus this brings us to this time where the Elite Four began it's development into the modern group of dedicated Pokémon trainers we know today as the Elite Four. Within a few short days this would be achieved, but each day would be as shocking and unexpected as the last one.
