Time Running Low
Chapter One

Professor McGonagle looked at the wall clock and sighed. 9pm and she still wasn't finished grading papers. She soon came across her best student's work, and sighed slightly; another low-score. Lilly had never made any less than a 98% in any class... Except potions because of the ridiculous Professor Snape. Something was wrong-- very wrong. "Another 69%..." she muttered to herself, marking it in the gradebook sadly. Lilly was a Prefect and always got highest grades in all classes out of the whole school... She had a good future ahead of her. But she had one major flaw: Lilly Black was a Werewolf. She had many good qualities; outstanding student, youngest ever pro Quidditch Player, registered Seer, and not to mention the top leading candidate for Head Girl... But something happened over the summer... Lilly wasn't herself. Minerva knew she would be up in the Common Room still, reading.
She walked almost catlike up to the Gryffindor Common Room, gave the password and went in. She was right, there was Lilly, reading a Latin book on Werewolves.
"Lilly dear? Why are you up so late?" she asked cautiously.
The pale green, gold tinted, black-framed glassed eyes looked back up at her, "I'm sorry Professor. Shall I go up now?"
"Quite alright dear... what is it your reading?"
Lilly shut the book, "Its Latin... On Werewolves... Very interesting read... You might like it, it has alot of differant facts on human transfiguration in it."
Professor McGonagle smiled slightly, "Do you think you could right me a report about it?"
"Oh that would be easy Professor!"
"Then hab at it! I'd love to learn some of the points of that book!"
"Ok, I'll have it in by the end of the week!"
"Good show!"
As Professor McGonagle walked back to her quarters, she couldn't help but smile. She had just given Lilly extra credit with out her totally noticing the point of the 'assignment'.
