Disclaimer-Not mine, It would be nice if they were, but alas, they are not. Nor will they ever or have ever been.

Author Notes- After watching the homecoming episode, I heard Melanie say the line "You danced with everything in a dress, including that freak Jamie." And thought to myself. "Wow, I wonder what that went like." So I spoke to Maureen who encouraged me to write this. Thanks Kid! I wrote this in like half an hour, so its not the best thing to ever come from my mind, but I thougth I'd give it a shot.

Dance With Me

I scan the crowd anxiously, I need an out. An escape, I just need someone to dance with before I have to dance with Melanie. I hear her coming closer, and I see it. I see my out. I dive through the crowd, and finally grab their arm.

"Hey!" Jamie Waite protests. He spins around to face me, and blinks in surprise. "Hank, What are-"

"Dance with me." I cut in.

"Hank I-" I tighten my grip on his arm.

"Please!" Without waiting for an answer I drag him onto the floor. I can tell, even now, I was holding his arm way to tightly. I thrust him away a bit and he turned to me, rubbing his arm a little.

"Well, what was that about?" He asks as I begin to rhymically move to the music.

"Melanie." I reply and he nods, nearly losing the blonde wig for the fourth time in the past hour.

"I've been meaning to ask you, how'd you fit into Val's cheerleading outfit?" He smiles lopsidedly.

"It's not easy." He replies. "I can barely breath."

"Oh." I smirk and watch as he puts his hand on the top of his head to keep his wig on.

"You do realize you owe me for this." Jamie muttered.

"I know."

"If you didn't want to go with Melanie why didn't you just say no?"

"I was scared of hurting her feelings." I reply, watching him. He spins around, hand firmly over the top of the wig, and blonde hair flying out, reveling the dark hair underneath and I snicker. He turns back to face me making a face.

"Oh, I'm sure this makes her feel so much better." Jamie replies sarcastically. "You'd rather dance with me in drag than her." Damn him for making a point.

"It's not like that." Jamie snorts in response and glances over his shoulder. "She's right there. She's watching you now." I shake my head. "And she just looks thrilled that your dancing with someone else that's not her. Your her date Hank." Damn him twice over. How dare he actually be making me feel guilty?

"Well I'm dancing with you know, so I'm safe for now." Jamie grumbles something and I smirk.

"What?" He asks, looking a little alarmed.

"I was just thinking how funny it would be to just dip you." Jamie glared at me for a moment.

"Touch me, and your dead." I snickered then, but my mirth was cut short as the song abruptly ended. In its place a slow song came on. I glance at Jamie quickly. "No!"

"Jamie...."

"NO!" He backs away and I reach out to try and grab his arm.

"Don't leave me out here man."

"No way, I'm NOT slow dancing with you." Jamie plunges into the ground, I lash out, in one last desperate attempt and my finger linger on his wrist just long enough for him to yank it away and send me stumbling into Melanie.

"Uh, hi Melanie."
