Chapter 5
"Townspeople! Please! Listen to me!" Don Corneo was shouting. "We need to group together to revolt against the attack and raid on Nibelheim.
Reeve had gotten to Midgar at 9:00 the previous night. It was 8:00 in the morning now, and Don Corneo was trying to get somebody to fight The Turks.
"We don't even live there! Why should we care!" A man shouted.
There were shouts of agreement from the crowd.
"Nibelheim is way on the other side of the world!" The man continued.
"If we don't do something, the Turks are going to become the new Shinra!" Don replied to the man, trying to knock some sense into him.
The crows fell apart, and left Don Corneo. Who else would help them?
Reeve slammed into the door of Aeris' mother's house. Marlene was sitting at the table, and Ms. Gainsborough eating breakfast. Ms. Gainsborough jumped up with a start, screaming.
Reeve ran in and calmed the mother down.
"Don't worry I will not hurt you. I have come with news about Barret, Marlene's father," Reeve said.
"What's wrong?" Marlene asked.
Reeve looked down at the sweet girl and replied, "Daddy has done something very bad."
"Finally!" Don Corneo exclaimed.
Corneo had found all he ex-SOLDIERS of Shinra.
"I need you all to fight the Turks and Fort Condor, or else the world will became a disaster again! The future is upon us! Please help me to attack Nibelheim!" Corneo shouted.
The SOLDIERs stood up and shouts of agreement came from them. Corneo led them all out of the slums in Midgar, and he took them to the huge ship that took Reeve over.
Before them, Reeve and Don Corneo met for one minute to discuss a plan. Then Don Corneo was on his was to Nibelheim with all his SOLDIERs.
It wasn't till another ten hours did Don Corneo and the soldiers get safely to Nibelheim.
"Now! Kill all the soldiers from Fort Condor! The Turks are up at the Mako Reactor!" Don Corneo shouted.
Reeve had given Don all the information while they were planning in Midgar.
The SOLDIERs ran into the town, and a huge battle erupted.
Blood was already flying everywhere. Bullets whizzed through the air, Don Corneo had to make it to the Mako Reactor alive. The SOLDIERs were beating back the normal soldiers from the Fort easily. SOLDIER had the advantage of surprise and by more men fighting.
Soon, the soldiers from the Fort were all dead. Don Corneo and the last hundred soldiers he brought with him ran to Mt. Nibel.
The Turks were ready though. They saw the SOLDIERs coming, led by Don Corneo.
Reno was in the front of the Turks. Soon, it didn't matter, because the two crowds clashed together.
Reno was looking for Don Corneo. Rude stuck right behind him to guard each other's backs. It was just then Reno saw Don Corneo running with the mob of SOLDIER, holding a small switchblade.
Reno dove at Corneo. But Don saw the quick movement, and spun, putting the switchblade through Reno's throat. Reno dropped the rod in an attempt to hit Corneo.
Rude picked up the rod, and brought it across Don's chest, making Don yell out in pain. Rude was angry at the death of his best friend, and he slammed Don's head down onto his knee.
Don fell backwards, and Rude took Corneo's own switchblade, and killed him with it.
Rude stood up and looked down at Corneo. He then realized he was in he middle of SOLDIER, and panicked, looking around for the other Turks.
Parker, Jes, and Katrina advanced through the SOLDIER. Parker was swinging his sword around wildly, not even giving the SOLDIERs a chance to keep up. Jes was taking up the back, firing his shotgun like a madman, blood splattering everywhere. Katrina stayed between the two, and was hacking down at SOLDIERs' heads with her dagger.
Parker spotted Cloud right next to him, fighting off the SOLDIERs. Cloud spun in a circle, slicing the guards around him in half. The group advanced further into the crowd.
Vincent ran from the battle to reload his gun. The SOLDIERs could barely even find the Turks, because since there were so many SOLDIERs, and so little Turks, it was hard to find the Turks through such a large crowd.
Vincent ran into the Mako reactor. Moans were heard down the hallway. He ran after the person in agony, and came to the experiment room where Jenova had once been.
He saw the small egg-shaped pods for the mutants all opened up. And in the one farthest left, he saw, the one and only Lucrecia.
Then he realized, that's what had happened to her. He had seen her under the waterfall in the Western Continent, but when he returned, she was gone. She had been brought here.
Now though, she was experimented on, just like he had been. He went crazy just then. His eyes went blood red, and he turned into the demon that was all too familiar to him.
He flew out of the Mako Reactor shouting, "My body is no longer a tool for anybody!"
"Vincent what are you doing!?" Barret exclaimed, shooting away at SOLDIER.
"I am abandoning the Turks. My body is no longer theirs! I will not be evil!"
Vincent didn't want to kill Barret, but he saw Parker, Katrina, and Jes in the crowd of SOLDER. He flew to them, and roared.
The SOLDIER looked up in awe, and then Vincent brought his claws into the sides of Katrina's head. Then he came down, and bit into the top of Parker's neck.
Jes yelled, "You son of a bitch! I'll kill you for that!"
Vincent turned to look at Jes who was holding his shotgun. Vincent, pistol in hand, got ready for the duel.
Vincent shot the pistol, but before he had done that Jes jumped to the side, bumping into a SOLDIER, and fired upward at Vincent. Jes had won, and Vincent fell to the ground, dead.
A SOLDIER from the crowd ran to Barret.
"Do not shoot me! I have word of your daughter! I am a messenger from Don Corneo!" the SOLDIER said.
"My daughter!?" Barret exclaimed
"Yes! Reeve has her held hostage and will kill her if you don't quit the Turks," The SOLDIER informed Barret.
"Fine, I give up," Barret told the messenger. "I'll come with you, just don't hurt Marlene."
Cloud head this and shouted to Barret, "You traitor! We had a dream! You are going to give up like this!?"
"Cloud! I may be working for the Turks, but I still have a heart," Was Barret's reply.
With that said, Cloud lunged at Barret and brought his sword through Barret's chest. Cloud then swung around and killed the messenger.
Cloud turned, only to see Elena shot through the head by SOLDIER. The Turks were going to die.
Cloud ran to his group of friends on the other side of the crowd. It was only him, Cid, Nanaki, Rude, and Jes left.
They retreated from the back of the group of SOLDIER left, and ran to the entrance of the town. It was blockaded by more SOLDIER though. So the group turned and ran into Shinra mansion.
The Turks saw SOLDIER following them now, so they ran to the basement. Cloud led the group into the secret stairway that led to the basement, and they all rushed down the stairs.
SOLDIER was hot on their feet now, and the only place Cloud saw fit to go, was into Vincent's old coffin room.
The Turks ran into the coffin room, and bolted the door behind them.
SOLDER banged on the door angrily.
"Come out now!" An officer yelled. "We will not hurt you!"
Cloud replied, "Why should we believe you! Of course you would kill us!"
The SOLDIER nodded to his friends, and the group of SOLDIER down there strapped two C4 bombs to the door.
The SOLDIERs then ran up the stairs to avoid the explosion that was yet to come.
"I think they're gone," Red XIII said.
Cloud listened, and then opened the door a creak. Nobody was there.
"You're right. Where do you think they went?" Cloud asked.
"I have no clue, but I have a very bad feeling about it," Jes replied.
On the other side of the room, Rude was rocking back and forth.
"Rude, get in control. We cannot let them defeat us like this," Cid said trying to put some hope in the villains heart.
"All of us were slaughtered out there. I watched Reno die, and I watched us do the impossible. What we did was terrible. I want my sins to be forgiven right now so I don't perish in Hell. I'm going back up," Rude said to the group.
Rude stood up, and ran out of the room.
"Rude you wimp!" Jes shouted after Rude. "He's a baby."
Rude was up the stairway, when suddenly, the whole mansion shook.
Cloud was blown backward, feeling the hot embers engulf his body. He saw his friends beside him burning in the evil inferno.
Rude made it out of the mansion, looking at it burst in flames. SOLDIER was standing there.
"I surrender! I surrender!" Rude shouted.
The SOLDIER ran to him, and helped him away from the building.
"It's a good thing you surrendered, because now you're the only remaining Turk," One SOLDIER said.
"What's going to become of me?" Rude asked.
"Well. You will go to jail for the rest of your life. And we will bring Jerry to jail with you, but we cant find him at Fort Condor right now," The SOLDIER replied.
"Where is the prison?" Rude asked.
"In Midgar," The SOLDIER simply replied.
Rude was happy to be alive instead of dying because he wanted to be foolish.
Reeve got word of the win the next day. He apologized to Ms. Gainsborough and he told Marlene about Barret's death. He gave them a sum of money for their troubles, and just left the house.
Reeve would have to develop a new army to protect the world from people like The Turks. But for now, he wanted to go give Rude a visit, and find Jerry…
