Chapter Two: Hideaway
Haarim scented the wind. Immediately she came from his distanced outlook and became fiercely alert. IMemnar…/I
The dog's eyes blazed as she darted out of the tent, empty pot in paw. With a quick stroke to one of the four beams supporting the dark, flattop tent: felling it. She let the pan drop, and hurriedly rolled it up, securing it to Camel's saddle.
She returned for the pot and weapons. Haarim secured the bow and quiver to her back, replaced the small knife, and slid her sword through her belt before jogging quickly to Camel and tying the pan and blankets on as well.
Quick as a wink, the Arcadian was aboard and on her way.
Time to see if she had really mastered the cave.
Icy eyes gazed warily out of the cave. Dawn was approaching.
Haarim pulled back into the shadows. She would wait till noon to let the danger pass.
For now, she would fix the traps.
