The City Of Musutafu.

Aldera Junior High.

Random Classroom.

"As third-year students, it's time to seriously think about your futures and what you wish to do with your lives." The teacher charged with overseeing the third year of Aldera Junior high told the seated students seriously whilst grabbing some papers on top of his desk. "Now I could pass out career aptitude tests," he waved the career aptitude test papers around for a moment while a confident smile was lazily etched onto his face. "But why bother since I know everyone here wants to join the hero program and become famous heroes." The teacher throws the papers into the air as the students cheer whilst activating their quirks.

The teacher laughed at his students' enthusiasm. "Yes, yes, you've all got impressive quirks," the man scanned the classroom watching as students showed off their quirks, unaware or just uncaring that a pair of moth-like antenna were twitching in the far back of the room in discomfort thanks to the loud noise. "However, you know the school rules, no quirk activation or usage in the classroom or within the school grounds." The reminder caused the students to immediately stop using their quirks as they didn't want to get in trouble, especially not when graduation was so close.

As the class settled down, a teenager with spiky blonde hair, bright red eyes and the appearance of a street thug openly scoffed at his classmates' behaviour. "Hey, teach, don't bunch me together with these worthless extras," everyone turned their attention to the thuggish student who arrogantly sat near the front of the classroom. "I'm the only guy here with any real hero potential since these extras will be lucky enough to become some loser B ranked hero's sidekick." The students raged at the thuggish wannabe hero who the class knew was Katsuki Bakugo.

Pale green eyes stared with curiosity at Katsuki Bakugo from the back of the room whilst the teacher hummed thoughtfully as he read through some kind of report. "Well, you do possess a powerful quirk and have aced the mock exams," the teacher knew how determined his hot-tempered student was to get into the most remarkable hero school of all time, and it showed in his test scores. "So there is a high chance that you'd get into UA and join the hero course." The praise set Bakugo into a minor monologue on how he'd become the new number one hero after graduating from UA High School and surpassing All Might, the current number one hero and the world's symbol of peace.

The teacher listened and patiently waited for Bakugo to finish his little rant before announcing to the other students the other person that wished to try for UA's hero program. "And it would seem that Miss Midoriya wants to try the UA's entrance test as well." The students froze at the mention of their fellow classmate's name, although Bakugo just appeared to be more pissed off than usual. The entire room turned towards the back where Izuku Midoriya chose to sit for class; the pale green eyes from before gazed back at them with slight discomfort and annoyance, although that was directed at the teacher for announcing her desire to go to UA in front of the entire class.

Izuku Midoriya possessed a mutant-type that made her appearance that of a bone-white humanoid moth. Thick plates of exoskeleton that provided protection from physical harm could be seen covering the girl's arms, legs and chest. However, Izuku's face was left wholly unprotected and human-looking if an off-putting alabaster white in colouration. Dark green hair, which she inherited from her mother, flowed gently towards her mid-back whilst intelligent pale green eyes scanned and analysed the others present in the room.

Attached to her back was a massive pair of insect wings shaped like those of the Madagascan Sunset Moth, colours of dark red, green and purple danced across Izuku's wings in hypnotising patterns. At the front of her skull sat two moth-like antennae, which twitched at every sound that was made and covering Izuku's neck was a fluffy collar of pure white fur. The hands possessed sharp claws that could create a paralysing poison that would leave a person defenceless for six hours, and her digitigrade legs also held long razor-like nails. However, these ones appeared to be more fitting for a velociraptor than an insect.

The strangest thing about Izuku Midoriya was that her quirk wasn't purely a moth-type mutation. It was actually a mutant quirk based on an unknown species of ant mixed together with several different moth genes. The doctors who examined Izuku when she was four years old decided to call this quirk Chimera Ant because of the unusual and perfect blending of ant, moth, and human genetics. However, for all the wondrous gifts her quirk granted, it, unfortunately, came with the price of everyone in school believing that she'd become a villain in the future thanks to her insectoid and off-putting predatory appearance.

"Yes, sir," Izuku softly replied to her homeroom teacher, careful not to open her mouth too wide since the others would usually shiver in fright when they saw the rows of razor-sharp teeth hidden within. "UA is the best place to learn how to be a hero, and it's always been my dream to be one." The teacher stared at Izuku with a strange expression like he didn't know what to make of her desire to be a hero whilst the other students whispered softly. The moth antenna on top of Izuku's head twitched as her mutant quirk allowed her to listen in on their conversations with utmost ease.

"Her a hero? Please, with that creepy appearance, she's more likely to become a villain."

"Yeah, Izuku's always been scary. I mean, have you seen how dangerous her teeth are?"

"I know, right, plus I've seen her only eat raw meat since we've started our first year of school."

"Oh my god, that's classic villain behaviour; maybe she'll become a serial killer."

"Ha, it wouldn't surprise me if she did; it's common knowledge that monstrous quirk users always become villains."

On and on, the whispering went as the class talked about how she'd become a villain in the future. Izuku had learned during the first year of school to ignore her fellow classmates as they were bullies that loved to pick on anyone that they considered an outcast. Not that they'd try anything against her as they're too scared of her appearance to attempt anything physical and thus resorted to using verbal insults and rude comments. The sole daughter of the Midoriya family watched as her childhood friend got up from his chair and walked towards her whilst his hands sparked with tiny explosions.

Katsuki Bakugo, or Izuku, preferred to address as Kacchan, was a violent and hot-tempered teenager with a powerful explosive based quirk. The two had once been close friends during pre-school. However, after Kacchan's quirk manifested, he turned hostile towards her and energetically tried every day to ruin Izuku's dream to become a hero. The unknown species of ant/moth/human hybrid couldn't truly understand why her friend had changed so much and why he was so obsessed with getting her to abandon her goal.

"So ya wanna join UA Deku?!" Izuku's antenna twitched at Kacchan's loud voice yet chose to not respond as Bakugo would become violent if she talked back. The sole child of the Midoriya family wouldn't count on the teacher to stop Bakugo from doing anything against her as the man clearly showed favouritism towards the hot-tempered teen. Heck, the entire school staff treated Bakugo as if he was the greatest thing to happen to their school, resulting in Kacchan gaining a rather bad superiority complex.

Izuku's silence seemed to infuriate Bakugo. "Well, you can forget it! A freak like you has no place among the hero elite!" The desire to comment that neither would he with that attitude was strong, yet she withheld from voicing such thoughts as it would definitely result in a fight. The last thing she wanted was for such an incident to show on her school records, especially not when the UA entrance exam was a few months away. Bakugo continued to rave about how she shouldn't bother and give up her childhood dream, and Izuku just stayed silent as Kacchan would eventually run out of steam and return to his desk.

The explosive teen should've given up in about five minutes; however, the UA entrance exam was coming up, and the none responsive attitude Izuku was displaying drove Bakugo's typical anger to new heights. Without giving a single thought to the consequences of his actions, the explosion quirk user threw the palm of his left hand towards Izuku's alabaster coloured face. The entire class paled at the sight, and even the teacher shouted for Bakugo to stop; however, it was too late to prevent the violent teenager's act of violence.

"Say something ya damn moth!" Bakugo's palm was inches away from Izuku's face; tiny sparks littered the male teen's hand. The class held their breaths as the school outcast dodged Bakugo's attack by blasting into the air. The powerful muscles contained within her legs made it relatively easy to avoid Kacchan's deadly explosive attack. Bakugo sneered upwards at Izuku whilst rage bubbled within his veins as the person he despised the most in the entire world twisted in the air and landed a few feet away from his position.

"That was entirely uncalled for, Kacchan," Bakugo's eyebrow twitched upon hearing that infuriating nickname and how softly Deku had said it. The damn nerd never raised her tone past that soft, barely hearable level; it was so infuriating to hear daily. "And for the record, I'm an ant, not a moth which you should know since we've been friends since pre-school," Bakugo growled at the nerd and felt even more furious at how she thought that she could reprimand him and in front of the entire class no less.

"Shut it, Deku!" He raised his palms threateningly yet chose not to get closer as he knew about the paralysing venom that the nerd could create and didn't want to be left defenceless if she managed to cut him. "You look like a moth! Act like a damn moth! Even piss me off like a moth, so ya have to be a Moth!" Hell, he's seen Deku get distracted by bright lights on more than one occasion, and if that wasn't moth-like behaviour, then Bakugo didn't know what was. Izuku stared at him with a passive expression which was another thing that he hated about the damn nerd; she always had that same blank look as if she was looking down on him.

"The doctors that examined my quirk would disagree, Kacchan." The retort was delivered with such a deadpan tone that it left Bakugo unsure if she was sarcastic or blunt; either way, it pissed him off. "Then again, you've never paid much attention to other peoples quirks." She was correct; he never cared about the extras scattered around them nor the quirks they possessed. It wasn't necessary as they'll never get accepted into UA, so Bakugo hadn't tried to remember their names since he'd never see them again after leaving junior high.

"I don't care what some medical nerd says about your quirk!" He felt sweat gathering on his palms which was good as it would increase the destructive capabilities of his quirk. "Ya a damn moth, and that's never gonna change! So just accept it and stop trying to be a hero!" Deku frowned at her childhood friend and was about to utter some kind of retort but was stopped by the teacher, who finally decided to regain control of the situation.

"Okay, that enough, Bakugo," the teacher moved to stand between them. "Return to your seat so we can continue with today's lesson." The hot-tempered teen glared at Izuku for a moment before nodding to the teacher and, without saying another word, returned to his seat. The teacher breathed a sigh of relief at having managed to calm the situation before it escalated into something genuinely violent.

"Please return to your seat as well, Izuku," the man addressed his female student, who nodded politely and walked back towards her desk. "And in the future, can you please not antagonise Bakugo." The teacher's tone was polite, yet it held an undertone that conveyed that he blamed Izuku for everything that just happened, not unusual as the school staff believed that she was the root cause for most of the bad things involving the students. Yet much like her classmates, Izuku learned to ignore the way the teaching staff treated her.

"Of course, sir." Izuku softly replied after taking her seat. The man stared at the Chimera Ant quirk user for a moment before nodding in satisfaction and walking back to the front of the classroom. The other students calmed down and deactivated their respective quirks. The time went flying by as the teacher taught today's lesson and the students learned the material. However, as the hours passed, Bakugo would send angry glances towards Izuku, who was quietly writing something in one of her notebooks that he recognised as her hero journal, which stored all information she managed to collect on pro heroes.

"Tch, damn nerd." Bakugo held back a sneer of contempt as the class continued. "Thinks she's better than me! Well, I'll prove I'm better after I ace the UA entrance exam!" The wannabe hero knew that he was better than the damn moth, and once he scores the highest at the exam, he'll finally be able to prove it without a shadow of a doubt. However, the most challenging part will be scaring Deku into not trying for the exam as she was stubborn, and he didn't need her there to distract him when it came time to show the teachers of UA why he was perfect for their school.

The only question that remained was how to get the nerd to drop the idea of attending UA.

Time Skip.

"Hum, that's strange," Izuku scanned the classroom whilst the other students moved towards the exit. "Kacchan isn't staying behind to bother me like usual." The explosive teenager had the habit of staying behind after class to bully her. However, he was the first person to leave the room, which was beyond weird.

"He's probably just heading off to train for the UA exams." The Chimera Ant thought as she left the classroom. Even if Bakugo was rude, temperamental and generally a bully, he was honestly dedicated to the life of a hero and usually worked himself to the point of collapsing. Izuku admired that kind of drive and wanted to achieve her dream of becoming a world-renowned heroine that saves people with a smile, although her smiles would sadly have to be small as she didn't want to scare anyone with her deadly rows of teeth.

Izuku walked down the hallway ignoring the other students as they pointed at her and whispered cruel things that they believed she couldn't hear. It was one of the drawbacks of her quirk as it allowed her to hear everything within twenty-metre range and thus made it difficult to respect other peoples privacy. As she navigated the school grounds, Izuku pulled out her hero notebook and turned to the page containing the latest entry, an image of Mt Lady, which Izuku personally drew, and began rereading the information she'd managed to write down on the heroine's abilities and personality.

"Mt Lady is a recent newcomer to the scene of pro heroes and possess a gigantification quirk." Izuku hummed to herself while making her way towards the ground level of the school. "She'll definitely be popular, especially with the male population; however, her quirk will make it difficult to navigate through the city whilst it's activated." Mt Lady's quirk would've been more suited for wide-open areas and small buildings to not get in her way while chasing after a villain. However, just because it was better suited for one type of environment didn't mean it couldn't help in another, as the battle against the giant shark villain proved.

Izuku wrote down her observations on Mt Lady then turned a page backwards to the page on Kamui Woods. "Kamui Woods is a rather swift and nimble fighter that uses his quirk for capture and quick takedowns." Fire quirks were an apparent weakness for the hero, yet Izuku knew that covering his wooden limbs in water would neutralise the threat as wet wood doesn't burn. The Chimera Ant wonders if Kamui Woods would team up with a strong water type quirk hero to maximise that kind of strategy.

"Backdraft could be a good candidate for a team-up with Kamui Woods as his control over water is rather impressive." It also helped that Backdraft was a hero that focused on rescue operations and firefighting. It'd be perfect for testing Kamui's wet wood and giving the wooden hero experience in rescue operations which would increase his popularity as Izuku was doubtful that a prideful person like Mt Lady would try to outshine those specialised in search and rescue. Especially not with her flamboyant personality.

Izuku exited the back of the school since she didn't want to run into Kacchan. The Chimera Ant mumbled quietly to herself as she analysed and expanded on her knowledge of pro heroes. The sole daughter of the Midoriya family paused when she reached the pound containing the school's koi fish Izuku lowered her notebook and stared at the red and white fish as they swam peacefully in the water. A powerful urge to reach into the pound and grab ahold of the fish roared within Izuku's head. The Chimera Ant's clawed hands twitched while her breathing slowly increased as the koi's smell hit her nose.

"It smells so good," Izuku's mouth watered as she stood over the pound, staring down at the koi fish with hungry eyes. "Maybe I could sneak one; after all, the school's not going to care about one missing fish." She raised her right hand in preparation to strike at the koi fish; with her speed and strength, it'd be child's play to pierce one on the tips of her claws. The koi in the pound swam more agitatedly as if they could sense the predator gazing upon them from above. Izuku was about to strike when Bakugo's laughter filled the air, unintentionally snapping her out of the hunting trance she had just been under.

Izuku's eyes snapped towards the school's front gate, where she saw Kacchan heading off somewhere with his friends. The Chimera Ant glanced back to the pound and slowly lowered her hand. It was pure luck that Bakugo had been nearby, and if he hadn't laughed, she might've killed and eaten the koi fish, something Izuku knew she'd have regretted doing as it was unheroic to harm a defenceless animal. The desire to hunt, kill, and eat an animal wasn't a new feeling for Izuku, as she had this instinct since she turned fourteen.

"That was too close." Izuku breathed a sigh of relief while walking far away from the pound to avoid the temptation to continue hunting the fish. "I don't know why my body wants to hunt and eat live animals," it was a mystery, although Izuku suspected that it had something to do with her quirk. "But I do know that the desire to do so is worse." It started slightly at; first, just a nagging feeling at the back of her mind, yet now it was almost all-consuming, and she feared what would happen when she finally gave in to the instinct.

Heck, even her classmates were starting to look appetising, which was rather scary to Izuku, especially when she could eat seven times her body weight and was ten times stronger than an average human, as the tests performed by several doctors revealed. Luckily Izuku had enough force of will to stop herself from giving in to her instincts, at least when it came to humans, animals, on the other hand, were harder to resist the temptation to consume. The wannabe heroine hasn't told anyone, not even her mother, about this instinctual hunger as she was already considered a villain, and she didn't want to add any fuel to that particular fire.

"I'll just have to train harder to suppress my desire to eat living creatures." She whispered softly while exiting the front gate. "Hopefully, this is just my body's version of puberty and will go away in a few months." If that wasn't the case, then mental training would become a full part of her life. The Chimera Ant had zero problems with that outcome as she would rather fight against the instinct for the rest of her life than willingly harm another person. Even a jerk like Kacchan didn't deserve to be hurt by her hunger.

"In the meantime, I'll get back to preparing for UA." She smiled as the cold concrete chilled her clawed feet. The sky was clear, and the sun was shining upon the city. "The entrance exam is only ten months away, and I've got a lot of work ahead of me." UA only accepted the best of the best, and with a 2% admittance rate, it'll be a hellish experience for the UA hopefuls. Yet Izuku was determined to be accepted, especially when the official website stated that All Might was going teach there this year, and the chance to learn from the number one hero wasn't an opportunity to be missed.

"I'll keep trying and go beyond my limits." Izuku has been training for the hero course ever since she was five when everyone said that she'd become a villain in the far future. In this day and age, the general populace judge a person by their quirk and not the person. It was unfair, and Izuku wanted to prove that they were wrong that she could be a hero and save people with a smile just like All Might, whom she admires beyond any other hero in this world.

The Chimera Ant slapped her cheeks and raced down the road. "I'll show them all what a great hero I can be." Izuku's wings folded around her body and became a makeshift poncho. "Even Kacchan will be forced to acknowledge me once I'm a real pro-hero." It would taste so sweet when the day came when Bakugo finally admits that he was wrong about everything and that he acknowledges she's a great hero. The Chimera Ant giggled at the mental image of Kacchan apologising, looking completely constipated while doing so.

"Yes, I'll go plus ultra!" She raised her fist into the air and, without another word, raced towards home, where her mother was no doubt preparing tonight's dinner. The thought of a plate of raw meat waiting at home caused Izuku's mouth to start watering again as her unique form craved raw meat more than anything else. The doctors explained that her quirk had made her primarily carnivorous. Most fruit and vegetables wouldn't be appetising to the Chimera Ant, thus why her meals were usually comprised of meats and the occasional sweet.

However, as Izuku made her way home, she was unaware of the slimy green liquid following her underneath the ground. The slime had two red eyes and a mouth that indicated it was a quirk user possessing a mutant type quirk. The slime creature was a villain that managed to escape from All Might, although for how long that would remain was yet to be determined. The villain had used his unique biology to escape underground and was looking for a safe place to hide until All Might gave up looking for him.

"I've got to hide otherwise; that bastard will get me for sure." The sludge villain mumbled as he slithered through the sewer system. All Might will have trouble getting around the sewers, but it was only a temporary diversion, and the Sludge villain knew it. The number one hero will find him eventually, and that was a prospect the Sludge creature wanted to avoid, so he was looking for a host to hide inside and escape the city. It wasn't worth the effort to try being a criminal with the likes of All Might running around and kicking the collective ass of the underworld.

The Sludge villain paused when he heard strange tapping sounds from a manhole cover above his position. The Sludge quirk user grinned evilly as that must be some bystander that was either walking home or going back to work after a lunch break. With an opportunity to escape, the Sludge villain rushed towards the manhole cover with the full intention of taking over the unlucky person's body and getting as far away from All Might as he possibly could. However, as he ascended, the Sludge villain was unaware that his actions would set events into motion that would change the world's fate as he knew it.

The day when Izuku Midoriya, a social outcast thanks to her quirk, and All Might, the symbol of peace and justice, would meet and all because the Sludge villain wanted to steal some money from a convenience store.
