"Nitta-san, you can't keep on believing…" I said gently.
1 I strained my ears to hear the voice on the other end, but only static. *click*
"Oh Nitta…," I sighed, pulling over to the side of the road, letting all the busy cars pass. I closed my eyes for moment and shook my head sadly. It happened what seemed so long ago…I had never thought she would remember… I gripped the steering wheel with one hand and set my cell phone aside on the seat next to me.
Five Years ago—
It was a time of terror, when what we 'normal' human beings realized…that well…there were these people…but I myself wasn't sure who they were really—but the normal people, they called them, some strange name…ah yeah, I remember. Saiyans. That's the word. Well, they saved the world, really, they did. But they were…different. They had…powers…they could move really heavy things and blow things up with bright light-blasts from their hands. I know…strange…you probably don't believe me…I hardly believe myself. My younger sister, Nitta, somehow, she heard about these beings from a different planet. After all, they couldn't possibly be from Earth, right?
Nitta witnessed one of them battle—so she says—but I don't know the truth. Anyhow…something happened to her that day she came home, the day she said she saw him. She was 14 then, but never 14 again…never any age to this day. She changed…she caught a sickness, but not the kind that can be cured. She fell in love. She fell in love… with that young Saiyan man she saw that day, only once in her life, and never again. I couldn't help her. I hate him, for causing pain to my sister…but really? No…I just hated the injustice of it all. The fact that he was from the future, and returned to his time, and Nitta would never have a chance to see him again. Her heart was broken, but it never healed like most people's hearts do from heartbreak.
From that day on…Nitta became a lifeless soul, living day to day like the dead live the night. That is the person she is today…five years later…
