Disclaimer: Okay, you all know the drill. 1) No, I don't own anything from
'Moulin Rouge'… not even Christian *MAN!* Everything belongs to Baz &
Craig, geniuses that are WAY ahead of their time, I assure you! And 2) HA!
I DO own the song "Anymore" so 'Ne-ner-ne-ner ha ha!' I don't care if
anyone uses it, either… I share! Just makes sure you let people know that I
wrote it!
Author's Note: Once again… 'HAHAHAHA' I wrote the song I'm giving MYSELF credit… hehehe, I feel special.
~Anymore~
The pain was surreal… nothing seemed to make sense anymore… it felt like an icy blade was shoved into Christian's stomach and was being twisted, tearing his intestines apart. The tears weren't there yet, but he was sure that they would come once the worst past. They would come just as a reminder of what he had lost… and what he had lost it to… A man with more money, more power… more everything than Christian himself could ever dream to have.
And she had come and gone so quickly, no whisper of 'I love you' or 'I'll miss you'. Simply 'I'm sorry, goodbye.' Leaving him with nothing but paper and ink… and his talent.
But none of those things mattered now… not with the pain… not with the misery. Toulouse would be down soon to check on him and then he would leave to see Satine one last time… but she had just left and seeing her now could hurt him more.
'I don't care anymore… nothing will hurt me more unless it kills me… and even that may feel better than this.' He thought to himself as he walked toward his terrace, sitting on the window sill. He began to sing to himself to keep the pain at bay.
"Everything I've ever won, always seem to come undone. I've fallen to my knees, can't you tell I'm weak… from the way I'm crying at your feet… They've told me not to run, though not and option in my mind… whatever I do I come to find."
"You're everywhere I go… and everywhere I turn… you're always by my side… even when I'm hurt… but I guess the situation's changed and I guess the scene's been rearranged. Nothing ever seems to stay the same anymore…"
The pain seared through him still… consuming his soul slowly, making him feel every ounce of humanity drained from his body… he continued.
"I used to look around the room, to think about the things that we'd been through. Though nothing now will seem to be the same… I thought that I could go…try to get on with my life… though now that we're through I come to find."
"You're everywhere I go… and everywhere I turn… you're always by my side… even when I'm hurt… but I guess the situation's changed and I guess the scene's been rearranged. Nothing ever seems to stay the same anymore…"
He began to cry out of control, but it didn't matter, he would still sing… he'd never stop… not until he knew she really loved him… he had to know.
"But even when I lay awake at night. And even though I'll always try to fight. In the end… I'll realize…"
"You're everywhere I go… and everywhere I turn… you're always by my side… even when I'm hurt… but I guess the situation's changed and I guess the scene's been rearranged. Nothing ever seems to stay the same anymore…"
As the last tear fell down his cheek, he muttered the last line to himself in complete and total agony.
"Nothing ever seems to be the same…anymore."
And with that, he gathered his money and headed to the Moulin Rouge… one…last…time…
Author's Note: I like that last line, I figured I'd throw a dramatic Christian moment in there for everyone to link to the song. Tell me what you thought of my song, please. I had originally written it for a guy who totally crushed my heart… but it went really good with this scene, so I just said 'Hey, I'll just smash it into that part!' Hope it came out good and you all enjoyed it! Remember: "Reviews Are Everything!"… Well… besides love!
