A/N: This is just something I made up at school when I thought of the title, though at that time it was 'Illusions of Happiness.' Which one do you think works better? I suppose there could have been a similar story for Malik… I dunno. There might be what is considered a Mary Sue in later chapters (I'm still not fully clear on that concept ~_~ baka)-- I may give Yami Bakura a girlfriend to help make a point. And… I'll write/post
Shadows of Happiness
"A-Aibou… w-what's wrong?" A young, white-haired boy asked his other cautiously.
"Nothing. Go away, Bakura," came the other boy's answer. He looked almost exactly like the one he called Bakura, except for a few key differences. He was taller, and his hair stuck out more than his other's. His eyes had a more sinister, evil look to them. When Bakura didn't leave, he snapped, "I told you to leave!"
"Y-Yami…"
"Just go." Yami Bakura's gaze moved back towards the window he had been staring out of. He looked so far off.
Bakura sighed. As much as his Aibou had hurt him and threatened him, Bakura couldn't help but worry about his other. After all, Yami Bakura was a part of him, too. He gathered up all his courage and approached his other. "Aibou, I have lived with you for many years now- ever since my father gave me the ring- and I know your attitude and tendencies. I think I would know if there was something wrong. Now tell me what it is."
Yami Bakura raised his hand to hit his other, and Bakura cringed, waiting for the attack, but it never came. Yami Bakura sighed and put his hand down. "Bakura, there's nothing wrong with me. I'm just… remembering. Now, if you don't mind, I'm going to go to sleep." He stood up, and just before disappearing into his soul room, he added, "And Aibou… I'm sorry." With that he was gone.
Bakura stood in shock at what had just happened. Or rather, what had not happened. He couldn't believe it. Yami Bakura, his cold-hearted, ruthless, blood-loving Aibou had not hit him. In fact, he had apologized.
Aibou, maybe one day I'll tell you. came the voice in Bakura's head.
He was about to answer, but he felt his other close and lock the door to his soul room. "Goodnight Aibou," he whispered, still surprised.
Though he locked himself away from his Aibou, Yami Bakura didn't go right to sleep. He remembered his past, to a time when he could have almost been happy. That's not how things happened. Hours passed, and Yami Bakura drifted off into a sleep filled with nightmares about Ancient Egypt.
End First Chapter.
A/N: Well did you guys like it? Is it a LOT better than my other Yu-Gi-Oh! Fanfiction? Please review, and maybe I'll post more for you.
