Maple Street

Version 2.0

1

In the aftermath of the horrors that occurred in Maple Street, several metallic spaceships landed where the houses once stood before nuclear rays blasted them to disintegrated dust fragments, before the world was turned into an atomic wasteland for alien colonization.

The Gyblick Empire was one of the strongest and most powerful empire in all the seven galaxies. It had conquered many planets, adding them to its large array. Other races knew of its power, and submitted with their own free will, to agree to follow the Empire's rules, or to suffer the consequences.

Earth, however, was a more intimidating challenge. The humans did not fear the Empire, or any other aliens. They mocked the aliens in their films, portraying them as long-eared goofballs with speech impediments.

However, they had one glaring weakness, a weakness that was easily used to the Empire's advantage. The Empire sent down scouts to tamper with Earth's technology. They were too stupid to see the truth looking them straight in the eye, that they deemed everyone but themselves responsible. In a matter of time, Earth was lifeless, a ghost planet.

The spaceships' doors opened, and several silhouette shapes strutted down the walkway. Two of them, if translated to English, would be called Terrence and Seymour. Terrence looked like what Hollywood wanted him to look like. He was gray-skinned and scrawny. His large bulging head had two oval-shaped eyes, and a thin, lipless mouth. The second, Seymour, had a large bulging eye for a head. It was on top of a brown, spindly body.

Terrence surveyed the Earth's horizon, something beautiful now desolate. A small hole in Seymour's neck opened. A voice came out of it.

"It is a pity we had to destroy the population." He took out a glass vial filled with a green liquid, as the other aliens were doing. He bent down, and poured it into the ground. Within weeks, the planet would be filled with lush vegetation that would never be destroyed nor polluted.

"We did not destroy the planet." Answered Terrence. "They did."

The creatures headed back into the ship, and ramp closed behind them. The ships zoomed off into space, mere specks in the long reaches of space.
