A/N My first Sora/Matt/Tai triangle fic. It starts out kind of sad, you know the usual, Sora being mistreated by Matt. Then one night while she's waiting for him in the rain (after he's an hour late) a man she hasn't seen in a while shows up and asks her if she needs a ride…no prizes for guessing who he is.

Disclaimer: Roses are read, violets are blue, I don't own anything so please don't sue.

Roses Are Red

"Thanks for the ride, mom." I said.

"Your welcome Sora but I really don't understand why I shouldn't have driven you straight to the restaurant." She said confused.

I sighed, "Duh mom, it looks stupid for your mom to drive you to your date."

"Alright…" She said, then muttered, "daughters…"

"Mothers…" I sighed rolling my eyes.

We looked at each other and grinned.

"Bye honey!" She said. "Have a great time."

"Okay mom, you have fun doing your, um, florist-like stuff." I smiled and gave her a small hug.

"Now you're sure Matt's going to pick you up here?" She asked.

"Yes mom, he promised." I said rolling my eyes.

"You know his promises aren't…well…I'll see you before midnight. Or you'll have to do a week of flower arranging for me." She said.

"Mom, you should know that old punishment doesn't work anymore, I LIKE flower arranging." I said smiling.

"Fine, have a good time, and be home by midnight or else." She said.

I laughed, "Or else what?"

She pretended not to hear me. She drove away with a wave.

I laughed and waved back. "Bye mom!" I called.

I felt a raindrop, then another, then another.

"Oh no!" I muttered. "Not tonight, please not tonight."

"What was that dearie?" An elderly woman asked.

"Oh, nothing, I just don't want to get wet. Not tonight." I said.

Suddenly the rain began to fall harder and faster.

"Ooh, yes, but what is so special about tonight? You look very nice, all dressed up." She cooed.

"Well thank you. I'm actually going on a date with my boyfriend, Matt Ishida." I said with a smile. The woman seemed really nice. I've always had this thing for older people. I guess since I never knew my own grandparents, they sort of had an appeal to me.

"Ooh, I sense that you're not very happy in your relationship. You think that he doesn't appreciate you enough." She said.

My smiled became fixed, "Matt and I are very happy." I said through slightly gritted teeth.

"Oh! Here's the bus! Good luck darling." She said walking up the steps.

"Do you need a ride young lady? This is the last bus tonight." The driver said poking his head out.

"Oh, no thanks, my boyfriend is picking me up here." I replied.

After the bus drove away and I had no one to distract me from the rain I realized I was soaking wet and chilled to the bone.

"Matt'll be here any second." I said to my self.

So I waited…and waited…and waited…

After a long time I looked at my watch. Matt was an hour late.

I drew my knees close to my chest like a little girl who had gotten lost and began to cry, first little tears then sobs that wracked my body.

"Why me?" I demanded of the raindrops. "What have I ever done to deserve this?" I sobbed.

I didn't notice the car that pulled up or when the man inside rolled down his window but I noticed when he he said to me, "Hey! Do you need a ride, miss?"
