Minas Tirith Murders
1 Chapter one
'Is she dead?'
'I don't know…maybe we should check her pulse…'
'Not necessary. Pretty damn sure she's dead….will you take a look at this…'
'Oh my Goddess…What sick mind would do such a thing? And why?'
'I think we'd better warn the King.'
Aragorn sat in his study, behind his desk, bent over a large, leather-bound book, when three of his guards came bustling inside.
'My Lord,' one of them panted, 'We've found another body!'
Aragorn looked up from his book, and shot them a quizzical look. 'Again?'
'Yes, Lord, and she's been murdered too, just like the young lady who had been found three days ago.' Another guard added.
'Curious…' Aragorn said, apparently thinking hard. 'Do me a favour and bring the body to the Houses of Healing. I will make sure it'll be examined there.'
The guards nodded and left the room. Aragorn heaved a sigh. // Just great. Now I've got a murder to solve. Like I haven't got anything better to do.//
All of a sudden, two hands were placed upon his shoulders. A feminine voice which he knew very well came from behind him.
'You are troubled, my Lord' the voice stated quietly. 'What is bothering you?' there was a distinct purr in her voice.
Aragorn turned around to see his counsellor, Gayaerea, standing behind him. (A/N: Ha! Bet you thought it was Arwen :P) He eyed the woman for a split second before responding.
'Another girl has been found. Murdered.'
'But that's terrible…' she said, eyes widening in shock. She sat down on top of his desk.
'I know…and I haven't even got the time to interfere in this case…'
'Oh, I'll do it for you!' she said quickly.
'Hmm…all right then…' he said hesitantly
'Good. I'll keep you up with information as soon as I get it.'
'Very well…' Aragorn noticed her staring at him longingly. He looked up at her and their gaze locked. Aragorn stepped back and looked at the ground. Gayaerea jumped off the desk and left through one of the secret passageways without saying a word. Aragorn sat down again, and rubbed his eyes and temple's. The main door opened and Arwen entered.
'Why are you still in here? Have you taken a look at the time? And why are you spending all your time in your study instead of with me?' she snapped
//Because you're being a bitch ever since we married and try to boss me around all the time…// Aragorn thought. Arwen really annoyed him lately. He tried to avoid her whenever he could, but it was difficult.
'I am busy.' He replied coldly.
'You're always busy. Will there ever come a day when your not *busy*?' she whined
//Yes, when you're not around…// he thought, but he wasn't going to say that outloud, no way…
so he didn't answer at all. He stared around the room, taping his feet impatiently and heaving a sigh now and then during the lecture he got from her. Again, for that matter.
'Are you even listening to me?' Arwen yelled
'No I'm not, to tell you the truth. So why don't you just shut up and go figure something out…Do you really think I haven't got anything better to do then listen to your nagging?' he said.
Arwen opened her mouth to speak, but she probably couldn't think of anything to say. She closed it again and wheeled around, snorting like a mad animal.
//Oh Goddess, how could I ever marry *that*? Big mistake, very big mistake…I really got to find a way to dissolute this marriage, I can't go on any longer like this…// These were the last things he thought before he fell asleep on top of his books.
