Chapter One

A New Awakening

Haruka and Michiru were walking down the cobble stone walkway while the cool May breeze was flowing through their hair, making the day seem even more enjoyable. Michiru's hand brushed up against the racer's and they look at each other with happiness glowing in their eyes. "This day is perfect, Haruka." "No, this day is perfect, plus one," Haruka said, chuckling at her corny joke, and looking back at Michiru, who was faking a smile. A sudden bright flash filled the sky, seeming that only the two noticed and look up at the growing star, holding their hands over their eyes. The light reached the city's horizon as it grew and suddenly faded back into the normal daylight. A small object started falling from where the heart of the mysterious flash had disappeared. As it gradually fell, picking up more and more speed, Haruka and Michiru saw the glimpse of two legs and two arms, suited in clothes of white and rust, it was a child; a child heading right for Haruka, and landed. But she did not land on top of her; she landed inside of her. 'How can this be?' Haruka quickly thought before the young girl dashed off almost as fast as the tall woman could drive. "Oh my god! She almost landed right on you, Haruka!" ".Yea." She responded with great confusion; her eyes fixed on her own hands. 'How?'

"Michiru! Haruka!" Hotaru yelped as the two entered the room; swinging Haruka around by her arms. "Tee hee. hello princess. We have a present for you." "Really?! A present?!" "Mm...Hmm..," Michiru took out a small paper bag the size of a video and handed it to Hotaru. Her eyes grew with pleasure as she excepted the bag with delight. As she pulled out a small book; she read the title aloud, "A Collection of Poems by Edna St. Vincent Mallay. Thank you Mommy Michiru! Papa Haruka!" Shortly after Hotaru vanished into another room, Setsuna came in, greeting the rest of her family. "Hi you two, how was your walk?" "Wonderful, but this very strange light just--" "We got a book of poetry for Hotaru," Haruka interrupted, "Um, I'm gonna go upstairs, I feel kind of under the weather right now." ".Haruka." Michiru whispered as she watched her soul mate reach the steps. "Gee, Michiru, what'd you do to her?" Michiru laughed, "Nothing! I swear!" After a few moments, she decided to see what was wrong with Haruka. She found her on the bed, facing the wall opposite of her, looking very deep in thought. Michiru sat down next to her, placing her hand on hers, hoping to get her attention genitally. "What's wrong?" "Michiru..." Haruka said quietly, "That girl. She didn't fall next to me.She fell into me." The violinist starred at her blankly, "What do you mean?" "She literally fell inside me.I felt another body go into mine, and merge with me." Ding.Dong. "You get the door, I'll check on Hotaru." As they both made their way down the stairs, the doorbell rang once more, and as Haruka answered it, she found a girl with shiny black hair with rust colored streaks, more streaks than her natural color, wrapped up tightly in a bun, copper eyes and traces of freckles. "Hello, you must be Ms. Haruka Tenou. I am Mayonaka Hiakye Shinyonuki." "I'm sorry, we really don't want to purchase anything right now," said Setsuna, after strolling in. "And you must be Ms. Setsuna Meioh. The Guardian of Time," Mayonaka's voice going deeper and colder. Setsuna gasped, "What did you call me?!" "And you, Ms. Michiru Kaioh," she said, seeing Michiru walk across the hall. They were all listening now. "I am Mayonaka Hiakye Shinyonuki. I have come here to show you the way. I am a Knight."
