Disclaimer: Tolkien is a god, I am some one who dabbles in the shallows of the god's greatness and plays with what they create.

Okay so I listened to the song too much and I ended up needing to write down the plot bunnies but still anyone else can use the song.

This is going into the series that started with "kissing Merry" and will end with god knows what.

Also I'm a horrible person who can't let it lie.

********************************

Pippin sat up in bed waiting expectantly for Merry to come home from his latest date.

If he could he would have cried but he had wept his heart out early and had no strength left to cry, so he threw himself down on the bed and buried his face into the pillow smelling of Merry and their lovemaking.

The door opened letting the light into the dark bedroom and Pippin looked up all at once hopeful and frightened.

Merry staggered into the room on unsteady legs and with lip paint smeared across his lips and cheeks in what Pippin's mother would have called harlots red.

"My little Pip" he slurred, breath reeking of ale and suddenly Pippin could stand to be near him.

He jumped from the bed as Merry reached out to touch him and backed away towards the door, finding the tears he hadn't cried falling down his pale cheeks.

Merry looked puzzled and then dizzy as if pulling that face had taken great amounts of effort which, considering his drunken state, it probably had.

"Why you running away from me?" he asked advancing on Pippin, who backed up until he was against the door and Merry could trap him there.

"Who was she?" Pippin shoot back, tears stinging his eyes and the smell of bear, flower perfume and, so thick he almost choked from it, sex.

So Merry had slept with the girl who ever she was.

"I don't know…some girl" Merry said off handedly bending to kiss Pippin but the Took was having none of it, he turned his head so Merry ended up kissing the door.

"Who?" he asked again distressed and angry.

"Primrose Sandyman" Merry said equally angry and Pippin burst into noisy tears.

"You slept with her, Merry how could you?" and before Merry could reply Pippin had ducked under his arm and pulled the ring from around his neck, the chain snapped and fall to the floor as Pippin threw the ring at Merry's feet.

"You can't have it all Merry, me and all these girls. I can't take it anymore and I won't let you brake my heart like this, from now on we where never lovers and I never knew you. I never want to see you again" and then he was gone out the door and running down the hall sobbing all the way.

Merry bent, picked up the ring and it dorned on him what he had just done and what he had just lost.

Meriadoc Brandybuck broke down in tears clutching the ring, his last link with Pippin now severed, tight in his had, hopping that some how by this simple act he could call Pippin, the one he loved, the other half of his soul back to him.

But it was already too late.
