Harry opened his eyes and sat up in his bed feeling very sleepy and
slightly annoyed. Ah yes. That was because of last night. But Harry,
somehow wasn't worried. Ron or Hermione would help him. The Dursley's had
never stopped him from getting to hogwarts before. This year wouldn't be
any different.
Last night, Harry had walked into the living room to see Uncle Vernon and Aunt Petunia looking very upset and more menacing than usual. Harry looked at them strangely, then decided he wouldn't ask what was wrong, because frankly he didn't care. He started to walk up the stairs to his bedroom.
"BOY!" Uncle Vernon yelled.
"Get your good for nothing rump back here this instant!" he bellowed
Harry turned around and sat down in an armchair in the corner of the room. What now? He thought.
"I think I have been very tolerable with your... abnormality. But I cant take It anymore. The neighbors are complaining that we have a strange flying animal in the house and some see you with your odd looking broomstick and Mrs. Parkins found this..."
He held out what seemed to Harry to be a Golden Galleon... wizard money.
"I dropped it" Harry said in a small voice. Aunt Petunia just kept staring at him like she wanted to squash him up and feed him to Dudley.
"You dropped it? This is inexcusable behavior. We have decided that you are not to go back to that school of yours this year. You will be going to Smeltings with Dudley."
"WHAT?" said Harry. Then he thought better of it. He decided to go upstairs and write to Ron and Hermione and Sirius.
"Alright then. Is that all?" He said
" You seem to be taking it very well then." Said Uncle Vernon, eyeing Harry with curiosity.
"yes, I was getting sick of that school anyways. I'm rather glad that I'll be going to smelting now. Could teach some of those fellows some things that I've learned." He said, pretending that he didn't care. Because Uncle Vernon and Aunt Petunia undoubtedly were hoping that Harry would be crushed by the news. But Harry didn't want to give them the satisfaction. He pretended that he was happy. He reached his room and sat down at his desk. Better write to Sirius first. He thought for a minute, then dubbed his quill with ink.
Dear Sirius, The Dursley's are at it again. Saying that They will not let me go to Hogwarts this Term. I don't want you to go running down here. STAY put. I am writing to Hermione and Ron, too. See if they can do anything. Other than that I'm doing fine. Say Hi to Buckbeak.
Harry
He thought for a minute then tied the letter up. He figured he's write Ron next.
Dear Ron, The Muggles say I cant go to Hogwarts this year. PLEASE HELP. If you can. I am also writing to Sirius and Hermione. Thanks for those sweets you gave me for my birthday.
Harry
It was very short. But He was afraid that the Dursley's would come up here any minute to lock up hedwig. Now, Hermione.
Dear Hermione, The Dursley's say I cant go to hogwarts. They are rampaging about how the neighbors are noticing weird things around the house. I am Writing to you, Ron, and Sirius to see if anyone can help. I think they might lock me in again. See what you can do, thanks.
Harry
Well, that's good then. Harry thought. He took the three letters and tied them to Hedwig's claws. She nipped him on the fingure.
"Find Ron, Hermione, and Sirius and give them their letters. Thanks hedwig"
She flew out the window into the blackened sky.
