This is a different ending to the second book, mostly involving Harry and
Ginny while on the Hogwarts Express back home. All of the parts in italic
are J.K. Rowling's writing.
Too soon, it was time for the journey home on the Hogwarts Express. Harry, Ron, Hermione, Fred, George, and Ginny got a compartment to themselves. They made the most of the last few hours in which they were allowed to do magic before the holidays. They played Exploding Snap, set off the very last of Fred and George's Filibuster fireworks, and practiced disarming each other by magic. Harry was getting very good at it.
As the conductor told the train that they would be entering Platform 9 ¾ in about fifteen minutes, they all decided that it was time to change from their wizard robes to their muggle clothing. As Fred, George, Ron, and Hermione left the compartment to the bathrooms, Ginny stopped in front of Harry.
"Harry, could I have a word?"
"Sure. What is it?" asked Harry.
"Well," said Ginny looking at her feet. "I never got a chance to thank you for saving my life down in the Chamber. If it weren't for you I would be dead." She paused. "So, thank you."
"Oh Ginny, it was nothing."
"Yes it was. I'll never be able to thank you enough." She started blushing.
Harry too started blushing madly. He was about to say that she was his friend to he wanted to save her but as he opened his mouth to say the words Ginny reached up and kissed him on the cheek. Harry was so surprised at this action that he didn't even see Hermione's hurt face in the door way.
"What was that for?" Harry asked.
"For everything," replied Ginny.
Just then Ron, Fred, and George walked back in the room with Hermione walking slowly in after wards. Ginny started to turn red and quickly sat down. Harry went and changed into his muggle clothes and when he returned to the compartment, the train was stopped at Platform 9 ¾.
You all know what now happens; they reach the station and go home. This ending is partially what I thought would happen when I first read this book. Please review my story and tell me your comments!
