Chapter Three

Snape's Secret

Mrs. Figg set the tea on the dining table. "Well dear, what do you think about all of this?"

"I can handle it...I think," Harry said with doubt. He couldn't handle it. He had defeated Voldemort when he was one year old, in his second year at Hogwarts, and his fourth year at Hogwarts. But, certainly he couldn't defeat him again. Especially when he's more angry with Harry than ever for making a mockery of him in front of his followers.

"Harry, I know what you're pondering on," said Dumbledore, no longer a twinkle in his eyes. "There are thousands beyond thousands of other witches and wizards beside you. Voldemort is no match for us this time. He will not kill you , Harry."

With that, Harry smiled and said no more. Mrs. Figg, Dumbledore, and he drank their tea and ate their crumpets. Afterwards, Harry was excused and showed to his room by Mrs. Figg.

"Ah, here you are dear. I do hope it's suitable for you. I understand it is not quite as nice as the gorgeous room you have at Hogwarts", she said opening the door to Harry's room.

Harry was in awe by the huge bed. It was a four-poster and mahogany. The pillow cases were lime green and the comforter was hunter green. The beautiful silk curtains around the bed were aqua. He looked all around the room a few times, each time seeing something new. There was a mahogany, french built desk across the room from the best which had Hedwig, parchment, ink, and quills on it. He looked behind him to tell Mrs. Figg thanks, but she wasn't there. He closed the bedroom door, went over to the desk and began to write to ron.

Ron

You'll never believe this. You know the old woman, I told you about, that used to watch me while the Dursley's were away? Well, it turns out she's a witch. Mrs. Arabella Figg. Yeah, we learned about her in Defense Against the Dark Arts and how she worked beside Dumbledore defeating Grindelwald. Dumbledore's here, too. He told me I was in the Order of The Phoenix. Do you know what that is? Since I have a Phoenix feather in my wand, I'm in it. I'm the only kid at Hogwarts to be in it. Weird, eh? I have to go write to Hermione. Tell everyone hullo for me, eh?

Harry

He rolled up the parchment and tied it around Hedwig's leg. "Take this to Ron, ok?" he told her. He opened the window and out Hedwig flew.

There was a knock on the door. "Come in," Harry said.

"Hello. I was just wondering if there was anything I could do for you," Dumbledore said, the twinkle back in his eyes.

"No thank you, sir. I'm fine."

"Harry, there's something else you must know about this year. Professor Snape will no longer be your potions master." Harry smiled at these words. "Please, do not show joy, but sorrow instead. Severus Snape has volunteered himself to be a spy for our side and will be with Voldemort from now on. He will be informing us on where he is and what he is doing. Do you understand?"

"Yes, sir," Harry felt more guilty than ever. For a few minutes, he was excited that he wouldn't see Snape's face again. And he might not. What if Voldemort kills him?

"I'll leave now. Do keep Severus in your prayers, Harry. He needs them very much," Dumbledore frowned and left the room.

Right at this moment, Snape could be getting the information the Good Side has always needed.
