General Notes:  As this is my first YGO piece to be posted on ff.net, I feel that I need to tell everyone a little bit about my writing style before I have a bunch of really confused people asking me why I don't call the other Yuugi "Yami" or something similar.^_^   I write by the manga, i.e.—the original source.  Not the anime, not even the uncut and well-acted Japanese version, which I haven't seen anyway, so it's a moot point.  To me, it's nice to enjoy alternate interpretations (like watching a movie based on books), but in writing, one has to draw on the original, canon material.  I know the people who only have access to the WB version of YGO can't help it; I'm not dissing you guys, I'm just stating my own policy here.^_^  Hence, a lot of events I will refer to are events which take place in the manga.  I will try my best to give a little background before fics which draw heavily from the manga storyline so people won't be confused.  However, this means that there are SPOILERS!!  People who want to get their hands on the manga and don't want me to give anything away should avoid my stories.^^;;

In addition, there are some very popular fan conventions that I will avoid like the plague, such as the whole "the evil Bakura abuses his host" as well as the "the personalities in the sennen items are called Yami while the hosts are called Hikari."  Since I've seen no evidence of either of these things happening in the manga (FYI, I have every volume out so far, ie—1-28), I won't use them in my fics.  That is not to say I don't enjoy stories with those fan conventions though; I just like to avoid them for my own fics.

Lastly, My YGO fics will probably have more introspection than action, and it will definitely have zero romance.  I'm sorry, but most romances don't do it for me (I can see half of you leaving right now).  However, I'm the world's biggest sucker for friendship, hurt/comfort fics, and you'll see that soon enough.^_^  That being said, onward to the second part of my notes!  (Ha, you thought you were done, didn't you?)

Notes for "Conversation in the Graveyard":  This story takes place in some unspecified time after the Battle City arc, which as of now is still on-going.  (When's book 29 coming out, damn it?!)  I say this merely because the Celtic Guardian/Elven Swordsman is not in Yuugi's deck during Battle City (he reorganized his entire deck structure like any good Duelist), but the tribute summon mentioned in this story was a new rule introduced during that time.  I figured after Battle City, there's a high likelihood of Yuugi changing his deck yet again, and I made the assumption that he might put the Celtic Guardian back in.  Not too many spoilers in this, unless you're majorly concerned about the new monsters which will pop up in the series, in which case I mentioned two new guys: Magnet Warrior Alpha and Beta.  Don't worry, they're not important.  And if you don't know what the heck Battle City is, don't worry, that's not important either.^_^  Also, I'm using the English card names (Celtic Guardian instead of Elven Swordsman, Mystical Elf instead of Holy Elf, Beaver Warrior instead of Ruiz, that kind of stuff) to avoid confusion.

Okay, and now that half of you guys are asleep…YU-GI-OH! belongs to Takahashi Kazuki-sensei and Konami, while the English version belongs to Kids WB.  I don't own the Dark Magician, my brother has him, and the Celtic Guardian's not mine either, he's my sister's.  One day I will get myself the Yuugi starter pack, just you wait.

Heck, why do I always talk so much?  Just go and read the fic.-_-;
