AN: For TodoMomo Week 2022!
Day 1
Mina rolled her eyes. "Oh, whatever, YaoMomo. You already have a hot boyfriend." She smiled a thin smile across the table.
It was the girls' weekly 'Tea Time after Night Time' bonding session. Except, the girls in relationships rarely made the time any more. Something Momo's pink-haired friend had just been lamenting.
Or, maybe Pinkie was just annoyed that she was 'between dates'.
"What?" The creation heroine replaced the teacup on its saucer with a loud: clack!
"Technically," Kyouka glanced up from her notebook. "He's hot and cold."
Momo gasped; her fingers covered her lips. "What? N-no. We're just—"
"You are not. I saw you two in the library." Tooru's voice sounded accusing. "Holding hands. His lips inches from your neck."
"We didn't! We're not." She shook her head as the memory flashed in her mind.
...
Todoroki's left side radiated heat. His arm on the back of her chair, he leaned over her shoulder as she worked out the complex calculus problem, piece by piece.
"This is the part where I struggle," he pointed to the book with his right index finger.
His breath sent a hundred thousand shivers down her spine. Momo swallowed, and risked a glance at his face.
For a second, his lips hovered - smooth and luscious - near hers. Her heart pounded a staccato rhythm; the urge to close the distance, and taste them…. It threaded through every muscle fiber in her body.
She clamped her mouth shut, and looked back at the math workbook - ruthlessly ignoring the way her heart whimpered.
"I'm sure we can figure it out," Momo said and closed her eyes. "Together."
...
"I can only wish." The class 3A representative blinked back tears. "I mean! I need to go. My homework is—"
"Didn't get much done during your make out session with Todoroki?" Mina snickered.
"It wasn't!" Momo pushed her chair away from the table and gained her feet. "Why do you keep saying things like that?"
Kyouka frowned. "What do you mean you can only wish?"
"Nothing. F-forget it. I."
"Are you two seriously? Not together?" Her dark eyebrows knitted together.
"We're not dating. I was working a problem for our lab practical. B-but nothing else."
"He looked ready to devour you." The disembodied voice that was Invisible Girl spoke from somewhere behind her.
"No! I." Momo turned and rushed towards the door. "I really have to go."
The panel shut, seemingly under its own power.
"Tooru!"
"Oh we are not done here. You need to kiss that boy." The invisible heroine's breath puffed in Momo's face.
She backed towards the kitchen table. "Kiss?"
"Kiss. Snog. Smooch." Mina spun her friend around; her mouth pulled into a wicked grin.
"Stick your tongue down his throat. Suck his face!" Tooru cheered.
Kyouka clicked the ends of her earphone jacks together. "Do the lip lock tango."
"Oh!" The room buzzed around her. The walls seemed shorter, nearer. Ka-plink. A spring fell from the creation heroine's arm and hit the tile floor. "But, no, I shouldn't-"
"You should," Kyouka met Momo's gaze. "You want to kiss him."
"I…" The class rep slid back into her chair. Her hands shook. She gripped the table, and tried to stop the world from spinning.
"You want to play tonsil hockey with Todoroki," Mina sing-songed like they were kids.
'Ugh!' She tried not to imagine...
...
Momo's pencil hovered over the workbook. Shouto's breath touched her skin. Then, his lips... Her whole body electrified as he kissed his way down the back of her neck.
...
"We're just friends!" Momo stared at the trembling liquid in her tea cup.
"You're so boring. Make a move already, class rep!" Mina nudged Momo's shoulder.
"You know his story." Kyouka's voice took a gentler tone.
"All of Japan does," Tooru said. "Thanks to that terrible villain."
"Yes, of course."
"He wasn't around people until he came to UA. I don't know if he can be the one to, you know, start things." The hearing hero's mouth twisted into a sad-looking smile.
"But!" Momo worried her lip between her teeth. "He is special to me."
"Mmmhmmm." Mina leaned closer; she propped her chin up on one palm.
"So what if I do," the creation heroine toyed with the end of her napkin. "Want him to be my first kiss?" Ka-plink. Another spring hit the floor.
She glanced up; two pairs of eyes beamed in her direction. Like they could see through her.
"Oooooh!" Momo shot to her feet; she turned, and headed for the door. "I'm going!" She pointed one direction, then the other. "Don't make me create a black light, Tooru."
Their invisible friend gasped.
"Oh, we won't keep you." Mina's voice cooed. "But, we're far from done, here."
The words sounded ominous; Momo's feet stopped moving.
"I. I can't." Her voice rasped in her throat.
"Then, we'll just have to help you."
Momo backed up a step. Or seven. "Oh. No."
"Oh, yes."
