Baker Street Hobbits by FrodoFarfield
Chapter 1: Holmes, Watson & Hobbits (or, from Buckland to Baker Street)
Bagöl Farfield, son of Hazöl Farfield, third son (and child) of Wiran Farfield has always been unusual, even by Farfield standards and the Farfield family (or, clan) were never Hobbits to do things by the book, as the saying goes. He had somehow found himself in possession of an unusual necklace. It wasn't the necklace itself that was strange: it was what was on the chain. Another unusual thing about Bagöl Farfield was that he was born with the Paranoia condition; known by the Mossbottoms and other Hobbits who hated him the "Farfield Curse". For the sake of the relevance of the story, I shall not tell you the whole backstory of the condition which he was born with and why it is peculiar even by his family's standards (not that Farfields have any). By the time this story starts, Bagöl Farfield is exploring the bottom of a small cliff thing (where there were mushrooms).
Looking towards the top, he heard (then saw) four hobbits. Bagöl knew who they were (even if only three had stopped and the fourth was still coming). He witnessed a collision from the fourth and all four went tumbling down. Without hesitation, the young Farfield - to all appearances, attempted to 'shift to' Noia (as his older cousin by four years calls his other personality) and wield the 'magic' necklace.
There was a great flash from the object on the chain and two things happened.
1. The Four Hobbits tumbling down vanished
& 2. Bagöl found himself in possession of a 'magic' and evil Ring.

Frodo Baggins, Pippin Took, Merry Brandybuck & Sam Gamgee were running for their lives... or like their lives depended on it. Reaching a slight drop, Frodo, Pip & Mer stopped. They saw at the bottom of the slight ledge/cliff thing, a Hobbit. He looked about Frodo's age. In fact, looking between them, the Took and Brandybuck saw that 'Mystery Hobbit' and Frodo looked practically identical. The three cousins didn't have long to think about it though, as Sam collided with them and all Four went tumbling down. As they fell, there was a flash and - had they known it - they would not see the Shire, Buckland or anywhere in Middle Earth for a long while. And I mean really long while.

John Watson - when this story takes place - is still living in 221B Baker Street with his flatmate: Consulting Detective, Sherlock Holmes. In that moment of time, body parts in places like the fridge or microwave (in my opinion a possible quirk when one lives with Sherlock) felt like nothing compared to his reaction to what he saw on his way back from somewhere to Baker Street.
They looked to him like a quartet of (a pop culture reference he was sure Sherlock would not get) Hobbits. From out of Lord of the Rings. He would have been right. One had sharp cheekbones (a bit like a certain consulting detective) and brown curls (not as dark as Sherlock's but still curls). He was wearing (over his white shirt; obviously they all wore dress-shirts) a yellow vest and green jacket. Another had sand coloured curls and wore simpler attire than the others. A third was not wearing a vest like the other three (the fourth wore a dark red one) but he wore a dark blow jacket and a grey/grey-blue scarf around his neck. The fourth wore a brown jacket. His curls were a really dark brown (the third's were reddish-brown) which striked John as similar or the same colour as Sherlock's. The fourth Hobbit also had eyes blue as sapphires but a light shade of blue.
They saw him and approached - albeit warily. John understood the distrust of him - he himself having (had) trust issues.
"Hello" he greeted, awkwardly. When the Hobbits didn't react, John continued "Do you mind waiting here?" Four curly heads nod "Okay. Good. I'll just... be right back."
Without another word, John hurried up the seventeen steps that led to 221B. Fumbling with his key (a bit) he unlocked the door (A/N: let's just say he locked it) and entered that flat which he shared with Sherlock. The consulting detective was doing an experiment (which I will not give any details on).
"Sherlock" John began "I think I've found -" he cut himself off.
"Found what?" asked the man in question.
"You'll have to see for yourself" replied the ex-army doctor, vaguely.
"Can't. Experiment." Sherlock gestured to his experiment.
"Will have to wait" John seemed excited about something. Not waiting for his flatmate to get his scarf or other garments he usually wore when leaving the flat, John dragged Sherlock by the arm out of 221B and proceeded to close and lock the door (both one handed). Then, he continued to drag Sherlock by the arm down Baker Street.
