Halloween 2019
One year after Alexis' first encounter with Michael Myers, the Boogeyman, she found herself wandering back into the same sewer where she'd first found him. Even after all their time together, he refused to stay with her in her home instead of this terrible place.
"Michael, don't you think it's time to leave this place? Not just this sewer, but Haddonfield all together," Alexis mused as she sat, wrapped in his arms, in the cold, wet, darkness. His mask was off as it always was when they were together.
He didn't answer which was still not a surprise to her so she continued, "The town tore down your home. There's nothing left for you. Let's go find a new home," she suggested again, for what felt like the millionth time since she'd first found him.
Their silence was interrupted by the sound of oncoming footsteps, a sound that caused Alexis' heart to drop and her blood to run cold. If anyone besides her found him, he was as good as dead. Well, more likely, they were.
Michael moved her off of his body as he pulled on his mask to address the intruder, taking a protective stance in front of Alexis.
After a few moments of silence, a bloody, young man appeared before the couple.
"Corey Cunningham?" Alexis asked as she took the form of the younger man.
He nodded as he took in Michael's form, "There were rumors that he was still alive somewhere down here. I killed a kid by accident tonight and the town doesn't believe that so it's time to focus their attention elsewhere," he explained before he lunged toward Michael, grabbing for the mask.
As Michael moved to defend himself and his legacy, he shoved Alexis further away to keep her safe, accidentally tossing her hard onto the cold, ground.
Corey reached up for the mask, attempting to wrestle it off of Michael's face. He must have expected Michael to be weakened from the events of last Halloween, but he didn't know that Alexis had cared for those injuries and Michael was at his full, unkillable strength.
Michael easily wrestled Corey to the ground with his knife in the air ready to make the final strike until Alexis' hand grabbed his arm to stop him.
Michael looked at her, his head cocked to the side in confusion, practically asking her to explain without words.
"Let him have it," she pleaded, "Haddonfield can have a new Boogeyman and we can get the hell out of this place. Don't you want a life out of the sewers? We can have that if you let him take over your role here. Trust me, it pains me to think of someone else wearing that mask, but I'd rather have you than 'the Shape'," she explained, trying to keep the tears from falling down her cheeks.
Michael looked at her, again, visibly trying to decide which option to take.
"I love you, Michael," Alexis whispered into his ear as she pulled herself up on her tiptoes to get closer to him.
He leaned closer to her and placed a masked kiss to her lips before he lowered his arm and delivered a death blow to Corey, shocking Alexis in the process.
Before she could react to what he'd done, Michael began to pull off his mask and his coveralls, which he laid on the ground. He then took Corey's clothes and put them on, making himself look like a normal man, other than his missing eye.
Once he was done, he looked at Alexis and tilted his head to the side wanting her to inspect him like he'd inspected his victims for so many years.
He was met by a look of confusion from her causing him to grab her hand and drag her towards the exit.
"You're leaving your mask behind?" she asked, still in complete bewilderment at his actions.
Michael didn't say anything as he continued forward until they were both free of his prison in the sewers.
"You're ready to leave and start a new life with me?" Alexis asked as she reached up and ran her hand down his face.
He didn't speak but, instead, leaned down and placed his lips against hers, deepening the kiss until she was forced to pull away and catch her breath.
"To our new life," she finally said once she had her bearings after the kiss, pulling him to her car so they could leave Haddonfield and put their pasts behind them.
The End
A/N: I know it ended kind of fluffy but this has been rattling around in my mind and I had to write it.
