Sometimes, Chiro couldn't help but create something.
When he did, he made wooden figurines for Sprx. They weren't much, and he didn't make a lot of them, but he enjoyed making them and he knew Sprx enjoyed receiving them. This time he wanted to make something a little more complex. Chiro took a step back and looked at the whole thing to make sure there were no flaws in the design.
The wooden figurine was of him and Sprx sitting together. He made it where Sprx could move it however he wanted to. It could stand up, the eyes would be able to glow in the dark, and unlike everything else Chiro had made so far, it would be painted. He tested it out to make sure everything worked. When everything checked out, he borrowed Otto's paints and got to work.
It took Chiro several hours to get it neatly painted but when he was done, he put it near Sprx's bed. It was in front of him so that when he woke up in the morning, he'd be able to see it right away.
Chiro then laid down next to Sprx and fell asleep.
When Sprx woke up, the first thing he saw was a figurine close to his bed.
He sat up and stretched his arms before he grabbed it. He took a closer look at it. It had a metal base unlike the figurine itself. The pose was of him and Chiro sitting next to each other with their foreheads touching. He ran his thumb through the eyes, which had a glass-like feel to them. Sprx hummed in curiosity. Both the paint and the glassy feeling eyes were new.
It made him wonder what else was new with this figurine.
Sprx looked all over at the tiniest details. He noticed round buttons on the base itself, one small and one medium. He decided to press the medium button.
It started moving. Both figures stood up and held hands. The tail moved around while the Chiro figure bent down slightly to kiss the forehead. Sprx was in awe at what Chiro had done this time around. He pressed the medium button again. Instead of it going back to the first pose, the figurine went into a fighting position.
Sprx pressed the button yet again, but this time it returned to the first pose. He couldn't imagine how long it took Chiro to do all of that.
Sprx pressed the smaller button next. The eyes lit up with pinkish and bluish tinted glows from the Sprx and Chiro figures respectively. It popped from everything else due to the room's lighting being dim. The Sprx figure had closed eyes when they glowed. Before that, the eyes were wide open. Sprx couldn't begin to figure out how he did that part. He pressed the button again but it only turned off the lights.
He didn't expect much to happen, but he thought it would be worth pressing it again.
Sprx set the figurine down. He accidentally moved one of the figurine's limbs. It caught him by surprise that it even moved at all without him pressing the medium sized button. Not only could he switch between the three preset poses, he could customize it to whatever he wanted too. Sprx could only smile at the work and effort put into this. He had to mess with it later to see what he could do with it.
If Sprx had to be honest, it was Chiro's best work so far. It was his favorite, if not one of his favorites. He turned around and kissed Chiro on the forehead.
"Thank you," he whispered with a smile.
