Aleister froze on the spot. He knew it was a coincidence. He was bound to run into his ex wife Zelina at some point. They both still lived in the same town. He just wasn't prepared for it, and today was really not a good day to clash. He couldn't even hide in a crowd of people. No one else was there this early. Of all the hours of the day, she was there at the same early morning hour as them.
"Fuck," Aleister mumbled.
"What was that?" Ricochet asked.
Ricochet followed Aleister's gaze and found that twisted smirk belonging to Zelina aimed at both of them.
"Fuck indeed," Ricochet said.
"We need to get Kamaria and get the hell out of here before she spots Zelina," Aleister said.
"Do you think Zelina is that stupid to hurt your sister?" Ricochet asked.
"She'll do anything to hurt me. Even go through my sister," Aleister sighed. "But I'm not worried about what she'll do. I'm worried about what Kamaria will do."
Aleister grabbed Ricochet's arm and started moving towards the supermarket. If they could make it in there and find Kamaria without Zelina following, they could all make it out of the other door in the other end of the supermarket. Kamaria did not need to know why before they were far away.
"Fuck," Aleister mumbled again.
Kamaria came walking through the door, holding three bottles of water. Her long, black hair with the green stripes got caught in the wind and blew around. Her green eyes were aimed at them. There was a smile on her face. A smile that quickly faded when she turned her head enough to see Zelina walk towards them.
"Kam, no!" Aleister yelled.
It was too late. Kamaria dropped the bottles of water, went into a sprint, and jumped on Zelina. The two women fell to the ground. Kamaria threw punch after punch while Zelina was screaming and trying to protect herself. It all went so fast. As a boxer Kamaria's fists came fast and hard. Aleister and Ricochet ran to them and tore Kamaria away from Zelina.
"Stop!" Aleister growled.
"She fucking deserves it!" Kamaria almost shouted.
"I know, but not here," Aleister said.
"Look what that psycho bitch did to me," Zelina cried.
Zelina stood up and dried the blood from her nose. She held out her bloody hands and looked at Aleister as if she expected him to push his sister away and instead take her in his arms.
"Look, babe," Zelina said. "How can you let her treat me like that? I thought you loved me."
"You motherfucking bitch!" Kamaria growled.
Kamaria was about to jump Zelina again. Aleister grabbed his sister around the waist, swung her around, and pushed her into Ricochet's arms before turning to face Zelina again.
"How fucking dare you?" Aleister asked.
"Me?" Zelina looked shocked. "She's the one who jumped me."
"I did love you, and you fucking laughed in my face while fucking who knows how many other men behind my back. And then you had the nerve to blame me for it," Aleister said.
"If you had been better in bed, maybe I hadn't needed anyone else," Zelina said.
"Let me have her. Just this once," Kamaria said.
Aleister held up his hand to signal no to his sister. He kept his eyes on Zelina. He had a hard time remembering why he ever loved her to begin with.
"I'm better off without you," Aleister said.
"You don't mean that," Zelina said. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean it. You're amazing in bed. Sometimes I just can't control myself around other men. You understand that. We can work this out. I swear I'll change. I love you, babe."
"Don't!" Aleister said firmly. "We're done. I really fucking hate you."
Aleister turned around and nodded at Ricochet and Kamaria. Ricochet still had a hand on Kamaria's arm just in case. All three of them turned their backs to Zelina and started walking away.
"I'll report this," Zelina said.
"If she's gonna report me, at least let me knock her out first," Kamaria said.
"What evidence do you have?" Aleister turned around and smirked at Zelina. "There's no one here, and this place doesn't have cameras out here."
Zelina looked towards the store. It was true there was no cameras out there. She took out her own phone. Before she could do anything else, Aleister grabbed it out of her hand and smashed it down on the ground.
"Oops," Aleister said. "What a shame that you dropped it. Oh well, you can afford a new one. If not, ask one of your many side pieces. I'm sure one of them is willing to pay for a new phone."
"Why would you do that?" Zelina asked.
"Why do you think?" Aleister asked. "We were here but we didn't see you. You must have arrived as we left and messed up your own face in a weak attempt to make me look bad for leaving you. Everyone will back me up. They all know how you treated me. This isn't that far out of the realm of things you would do in order to try and hurt me. So try it, bitch. Try coming for me or my family. It will not end well for you."
Aleister picked up the three bottles of water that Kamaria had dropped. Once again he nodded to his sister and friend. They all walked away to the sound of Zelina crying and making empty threats behind them.
"Don't worry. She knows she can't convince anyone after what she put me through. She's not gonna report this," Aleister said.
"And we all agreed on what happened here," Ricochet said. "Kamaria bought water while we waited outside. No one else was there. We left right after."
"I still want to beat her senseless," Kamaria said.
Aleister chuckled, placed an arm around Kamaria's shoulders, pulled her up against his side, and placed a kiss on the top of her head.
"You throw a wicked punch," Aleister said. "She learned her lesson. Trust me. I know her. Next time she sees any of us, she'll run away."
