Emma breathed out a long contented sigh from her comfortable position. She was wrapped in her boyfriend's arms on his bunk in the Captain's Quarters on his ship. It was the first time she'd been aboard the Jolly Roger since they'd returned from Neverland and it was the first time she'd been in his own bed, rather than the lumpy mattress at Granny's B&B. The fact that his bed was small made it rather cosy and encouraged you to cuddle up, which pleased her.

Ever since their relationship had begun, it had been hard to find moments like this. Quiet moments to themselves when she felt relaxed and just...happy. Right now she was thoroughly enjoying the temporary reprieve from the usual chaos this town attracted and trying to forget, if only briefly, about whatever the hell Gold was up to now with the Queens of Darkness in town.

She snuggled further into Killian's embrace, not wanting to think on that right now and just enjoy being able to spend time with him. No one could deny that she deserved this short break, surely. Opening her eyes briefly, Emma spied the remains of their lunch on the table and recalled how Killian had shown up at the station an hour or so ago with food for the both of them.

"Hey you," Emma greeted him as he set the bag of Granny's take-out down on her desk and leant over to share a kiss. "Did you get the usual?" she asked, about to grab the bag and take it over to the couch where they often shared lunch together, unless they had time to meet up and dine in Granny's.

"Aye, love. But," he stilled her hand from opening up the bag, "I was hoping that I might convince you to consume our meal elsewhere today?"

"Oh really. And where might you be suggesting?"

"I was thinking," he began as he moved behind her chair and pulled out her jacket for her, "that you need a break from this place and that we might adjourn to my ship."

"Hmm," she gazed up at him, a happy smile on her face that seemed to appear every time she was around him these days. "Are you trying to make up for some lost time with your ship now that you have her back?" she asked him.

It had been a huge surprise the night before when he had insisted on them taking a walk down to the docks and then proudly revealing The Jolly Roger safely berthed once more in Storybrooke's harbour. As they'd climbed aboard to inspect the state of his ship, he finally had time to fill her in on everything that had happened with him that day and how his ship had been returned.

"Perhaps," he chuckled and shook her jacket to encourage her to put it on.

"And will we just be eating lunch on your ship, or..." she left the question open ended as she got up and allowed him to help her on with her jacket.

"Whatever are you suggesting, Swan?" he asked in mock horror.

Emma laughed, took his hand and grabbed the bag of food as she eagerly left the station and all the current concerns behind her for an hour or two.

They enjoyed a leisurely lunch over their usual fun, stimulating conversation. Emma loved spending time with him, just talking and sharing their lives with one another, doing the normal dating thing and getting to know each other better. And he often had some hilarious or daring tale to tell. They just didn't get enough of this time alone.

They also didn't get much privacy with one another, always interrupted or needed elsewhere. So when they did manage to salvage some time alone, things usually got a little passionate between them and sometimes they gave in to those desires. Today had been one of those times, even now their clothes lay discarded around his cabin as they'd enjoyed a little afternoon delight. It had been quite exciting, making love with her pirate aboard his ship for the first time.

She closed her eyes again and shuffled slightly in the bed, knowing that she could seriously get used to this. His warm naked body was pressed tightly against hers, his knee wedged between her thighs and his breath on the back of her neck. She'd never felt comfortable snuggling with anyone before there was Killian in her life. She'd never even wanted to with any other guy.

Was this what it meant to be in love?

Just yesterday he had told her that she was his happy ending. Whilst she hadn't even been able to bring herself to tell him that she loved him yet, even if she had only recently began admitting to herself that she was hopelessly in love with him. And she knew his statement was much more intense than an I love you. It was an I want to spend the rest of my life with you. A declaration that she was the reason for his happiness and meant everything to him. That she was the one he had spent his long, long life waiting to find. It was overwhelming and beautiful and touching and yet frightening all at the same time.

If she had her way, she would gladly stay here, in his loving arms for the rest of the day and just enjoy this peaceful time that she had no desire to be disturbed from. The only sounds to be heard whilst lying here were the seagulls, the creaking of the ship as the sea lapped against her in the harbour and their own breathing. But she knew that duty was probably calling and that she really should be getting back to work after enjoying the longest lunch break she'd ever taken.

She gave another sigh before turning in Killian's arms to face him. He had his eyes closed and she wasn't sure if he was really sleeping or merely dozing in the after glow. "Hey," she whispered and kissed a line of soft kisses down his neck. "Killian...babe," she said as she lifted a hand from their warm cocoon of blankets and stroked his scruffy cheek. "I really need to be getting back."

"Mmm, five more minutes, Swan," he murmured in reply and tightened his hold on her as he gathered her towards him until she lay with her head on his chest.

"Five more minutes," she agreed all too easily and closed her eyes again, listening to the reassuring sound of his heartbeat beneath her ear.

Twenty minutes or so later Emma snapped her eyes open again, blinking blearily around the room as she recalled where she was. "Damnit!" she hissed, she had fallen asleep again. It was just too damn tempting to lie here with him and forget about the world outside.

Lifting her head from his chest, she rubbed her eyes and then looked up at Killian. He had his eyes closed, looking relaxed and serene. His breathing was shallow and steady, all suggesting that he was asleep. Carefully she lifted his hand that rested on her hip and tried to wiggle free to roll out of bed without disturbing him.

"Where you going?" he mumbled then, his hand grasping her again.

"I really have to go now. I've probably been gone hours," she told him, ruefully.

"No, stay," he complained, tugging her back into position again.

"You're a whiny pirate when you're sleepy," she chuckled with a slight roll of her eyes. "Come on, I really need to go," she said, trying to struggle free once more.

He grinned as his left arm slid beneath her and his hand on her hip rolled her until she suddenly found herself beneath him. "I'm not sleepy. I'm quite awake, love." With a smirk, he rolled his hips towards her to let her feel just how awake he was.

"Killian," she moaned. He was making this so hard, pun not intended!

He grinned as he moved his knee to take the bulk of his weight off of her. Not that she minded, she found his firm body on top of her quite comforting. He lowered his head then and caught her lips in a searing kiss. Emma needed no persuasion whatsoever to return the kiss and curl her arms around his neck.

"Mmm," she sighed when they parted, his lips still hovering over hers as his nose brushed against hers. "That was great," she began, scratching her fingers through his hair at the nape of his neck, "but I really do have to go now."

"Why?" he asked, looking down at her, his eyebrows raised.

Emma frowned and tried to push him off her. "Because I am supposed to be at work. People might need me and-"

"I need you," he interrupted her with a pout.

Emma sighed. "Come on," she tried again, intent on getting out of bed and getting dressed.

"Don't you think you've earned a few hours off, love?" he asked. "Just a few hours to yourself where everyone isn't expecting you to save the day. Because I do. Besides, what can happen in a couple of hours?"

"In this town?" she asked incredulously. "Anything!"

Killian chuckled softly, propped up on his elbow as he began trailing kisses from her ear lobe to her neck. "Well, I think," he began, punctuating each word with a kiss, "that you deserve a break."

She moaned softly, her head tilting to the side to give him better access. He was just too damn tempting and distracting and she was finding it near impossible to resist. "I should...Killian...I need to...ohh..." Her protests were rather feeble as his kisses and little nips of his teeth continued down towards her breasts.

He smiled against her skin, knowing he was winning her over. Not that she was putting up much, if any, of a fight. Her hands were in his hair, holding him close to her as her foot slid up his calf. She gasped when his mouth found her pert nipple, circling it with his tongue before taking it between his lips. His hand drifted south, sliding across her belly, over her hip and down between her thighs, cupping her gently and rubbing her mound with the heel of his hand. Her legs fell open of their own accord for him as she closed her eyes and moaned softly at his touch.

He sucked gently on her nipple, before letting it go with a pop and looked up at her, a sly, smug look on his face and one eyebrow raised. "Still want to head back to work?" he asked her.

"You are a complete bastard, Killian Jones," she muttered half heartedly.

"You know you love it," he quipped as she managed to raise her foot and kick his backside with her heel. He laughed.

"Just shut up and get on with it," she told him, pushing his head back down.

"Oh, I intend to, love," he said with a wink before he began kissing his way down her body.

With his lips leaving soft, wet kisses upon her skin and his fingers skilfully caressing her wet folds, he soon had her writhing against him. Her hands raked through his hair as she begged him not to stop, telling him how close she was and then grasped handfuls of his dark hair as she moaned and closed her eyes as he brought her to orgasm.

As she came down from her high, he softly kissed his way back up, until he kissed her lips, looking rather smug with himself. Emma opened her eyes and snorted to herself when she saw his expression. "Pretty proud of yourself, aren't you?" she asked him.

"Aye love, I am," he grinned and kissed her again as he moved his body against her.

"I don't think so buddy," she giggled and hooked her foot around his hips as she rolled them in the bed until she was on top of him. She ran her hands up his chest as she sat up on him, astride his thighs and flicked her hair back over her shoulder. "My turn," she said with a wicked grin.

He eyed her warily, unsure what she was about to do.

She began her own exploration of his body with her lips, starting at his neck where she nipped him playfully and down across his chest, laving each nipple with her tongue. Her mouth followed the treasure trail down to his groin, but she didn't stop there as she shuffled back on his legs and took his cock in her hand.

"Emma?" he queried, hesitantly. "You don't have to...oh bloody fuck!" he gasped as her tongue poked out and licked the head of his erection. He groaned loudly and fisted the sheets beneath him as her mouth descended lower and began to move on him.

Meanwhile...

David sat in the office chair at the Sheriff station, fiddling with a pen in one hand whilst waiting for his call to connect.

"Hello?" his wife answered absent-mindedly, obviously busy with the baby.

"Mary Margaret," David began. "Is Emma with you?" he asked.

"No. It's just me and Neal here. He's supposed to be napping, but he's having none of it. Are you my sweet little boy?" she spoke in baby talk to the babe in her arms.

"Have you seen Emma at all this afternoon?" he enquired, not getting drawn into the baby talk.

"No, but then I've been home since lunch. Won't she be at the station?" she asked, holding the phone between her ear and her shoulder as she gently rocked the baby.

"Well I'm here and she isn't. The place was locked up and empty when I got back."

"Then she's probably out on a call. Or left to take patrol," she suggested.

"Her car is still in the parking lot, as well as the cruiser. And her computer was left on."

"David, she'll be in town somewhere. Don't worry about it."

"But I am worried. With Cruella and Maleficent in town and hell knows what Gold is up to now, I think I have a right to be worried about our daughter."

"I'm sure she's fine David. Did you try calling her phone?"

"I did and there's no answer. I left her messages, but I've heard nothing back from her."

Mary Margaret sighed. "Do you want me to come and look around town with you?" she asked.

"No, you're busy with Neal. I'll go ask around town and see if anyone has seen her. I'm sure you're right and she's fine. I just want to be sure."

"Okay. Keep me informed, all right?" she asked.

"I will do. Let me know if she turns up at the loft or calls."

"Of course. She'll be fine David, Emma can handle herself." Mary Margaret told him, trying to convince herself at the same time.

He was soon hurrying through the main street of Storybrooke, hoping to find Emma safe and well and for the first time in his life be able to laugh at himself for overreacting. He was about to head inside Granny's to check there, when he spied Archie leaving his office across the street.

"Hey, Archie!" David called to him as he jogged across the road. "Have you seen Emma?" he asked.

"Emma?" he questioned. "Erm...no, no I haven't. Well not since this morning anyway."

"When this morning?" David queried.

"Oh, early. I see them every morning from my apartment window," he smiled. "Hook waits outside your place with coffee for them both and after she greets him with a kiss, he walks her to work. It's very sweet. I do hope you are prepared for how in love those two are," he smiled, not understanding the urgency at all.

"That's great, but...I need to find her now," he patted the psychiatrist's shoulder.

"Is something wrong?" Archie asked then.

"In this town? Who knows!" David quipped and hurried off again.

He poked his nose into Granny's, but not seeing Emma in there, he continued on, checking shops and buildings on his way. He called in to see Belle at the library, but she hadn't seen her since this morning either. She said Killian had popped in for a short time after seeing Emma to work, but nothing since. Did the entire town know about this morning routine of Hook walking his daughter to work? He frowned at the idea...his Princess with a Pirate was not what was intended!

But right now that didn't matter. Finding her safe did. He continued on, checking places and asking anyone he saw without trying to alarm them. He even checked the park and was thinking of heading into the woods when he came across Leroy and Walter.

"I heard the saviour is missing?" Leroy asked, loudly.

"Well, I don't know that she's missing as such," David began. "I'm just not sure where she is and she's not answering her phone. And with Gold back in town..."

"Say no more!" Leroy held his hand up to stop him. "We'll help you look," he offered.

"Great. I was thinking we might have to go check the woods. But...perhaps we'll go over the town once more first?" he suggested. "How about you and Walter take one side of the street and I'll take the other, ask in every building and we'll meet at the end of the street?"

Leroy and Walter both nodded and the three of them headed off again in search of Emma.

Half an hour later they met up again at the end of the street, the stores and business all exhausted of their searching, asking anyone they came across. No one had seen her since very early this morning, heading to work.

"But Granny did say that Hook was in maybe two or three hours ago and he bought lunch to go for himself and Emma," Leroy relayed what she'd told him.

David nodded. "Yeah, he often takes her lunch to the station when she's busy," he sighed. "I guess we should head to the..."

"How long has the pirates ship been back in the harbour?" Walter suddenly interrupted.

"What?" Leroy snapped at him.

Walter pointed towards the tall ship that could clearly be seen moored back in the docks as his other hand covered his mouth to stifle a yawn.

David frowned. "That hasn't been in town since the curse brought us all back from the Enchanted Forest. How did it get here?"

"I don't know," Leroy smirked and shared a look with Walter. "But is anyone else thinking what I'm thinking?" He was trying not to laugh.

"And what's that?" Emma's father asked, folding his arms across his chest.

"Well," Leroy shrugged as Walter chuckled. "The pirates ship is back in town. Hook bought lunch for himself and Emma. No one has seen either Hook or Emma since. So what's the likelihood that they're, you know, together?" he asked.

David glanced towards the ship and then back at the dwarves and then back at the ship again as he felt his face redden. "No..." he gasped, glaring at the ship. He couldn't deny it though, it was the obvious answer to where Emma was. The town was currently quiet - there were no hell beasts flying over the town, no residents running screaming down the streets, not even Gold had been seen since last night. So, she wasn't dealing with a new crisis.

Of course David was fully aware that his daughter was an adult and quite able to decide who she dated, but why did it have to be the damn pirate? And he wasn't an idiot, he knew she'd also been spending more than a few evenings alone with him in his room at Granny's. But, taking off in the afternoon to...spend time with him? Really?

Leroy chuckled at the Prince's obvious discomfort. "So, your little Princess shacking up with the Pirate, huh?" he smirked and nudged Walter who snapped his eyes open.

"Oi!" David warned, his finger pointed right in Leroy's face, "that's my daughter you're talking about."

"Erm, yeah...right. Apologies," he shrugged it off. "So, do we go knock on the ship or something and find out if she's there?" he wondered.

David turned to stare at the ship again, debating with himself what to do. "Erm...no," he decided. If Emma was on board with Hook, he had no inclination whatsoever to find out exactly what they were doing. He could pretend to be ignorant to his daughter having a sex life for just a little bit longer. "No...I'm sure she's fine and she'll get in touch soon when she's erm...when they...finish lunch," he finished and began to head away from the harbour to call Snow, ignoring Leroy's sniggering behind him.

"Mmm..." Emma moaned as she woke again and stretched her naked, sated body against the sheets. Her leg brushed against Killian's much hairier ones and she smiled to herself as she remembered where she was and how she'd spent the last few hours. Losing herself within his advances and giving herself the afternoon off had been the best decision she'd made today.

Her body protested a little after the double work out it had received this afternoon. There was an ache in muscles that were rarely used until fairly recently, but it was a good kind of ache, a reminder that she had been thoroughly and expertly ravished today, more than once. From the first time they had made love, Killian had proved to be a very thorough and attentive lover, every time with him was mind blowing. Not that she was going to tell him that, she didn't think she'd be able to handle his ego if he knew he was the best she'd ever had.

"I wonder what time it is," she mumbled, her face wedged into his shoulder.

"Sleeping, Swan," he murmured and tightened his hold on her.

Emma snorted and then rolled out of his embrace to rummage about on the floor for her clothes, hoping to find her phone. Spying her jacket on the back of the chair at the table, she knew her phone must be in the pocket and decided to try to summon it, unwilling to leave the warmth of the bed. She'd been working on her magic recently and was sure she could manage a simple summoning spell. With a flick of her hand, the phone flew from her pocket and practically smacked her in the face.

"Smooth, love," Killian chuckled beside her.

"Shut it!" she poked his ankle rather sharply with her toe.

He grumbled something under his breath as he changed his position. He kissed her bare shoulder and then lay his head on her breast and sighed contently.

Emma shook her head and opened her phone. "Shit!" she hissed as the messages began popping up.

"What is it?" he asked, instantly alert.

"I have like, five missed calls from my Dad, three from my Mom and then a dozen or so text messages from them both. I hope nothing has happened whilst I've been hiding here with you!" she said, hurrying to listen to her messages.

Killian waited patiently, his chin on her shoulder as he watched her face whilst she listened. After the fourth one she began to smile. "Well?" he asked, wanting to know what was going on.

She chuckled as the fifth message ended and set her phone down again. "It's fine," she told him, snuggling back down. "No crisis or anything. My Dad apparently got into a panic because he couldn't find me and I wasn't answering my phone, I don't know how it got put onto silent," she mused, staring at it again.

"So we don't have to concern ourselves with demons, dragons or hell-hounds bursting in on us?" he asked, laying his head back down.

"No, I think we're safe. Unless my Dad figures out where I am and comes crashing in here," she laughed.

Killian raised his head again and just stared at her. Emma couldn't help but chuckle at the look on his face. He frowned and turned to lay on his back, folding his arms beneath his head. "I'm not afraid of your Father, Swan."

"Right, even if he comes bursting in here, cursing at you for daring to defile his precious daughter?"

He looked at her, completely incredulous, one eyebrow raised high on his forehead. "Seriously, Swan?" he asked

"Yeah, right," she chuckled, "feared Pirate Captain, I forgot!" She rolled her eyes as she lowered her head to kiss him softly. "Perhaps I should send him a quick message though, just in case." She decided and picked up her phone again, typing out a quick message before he could draw her in to further kisses. 'Sorry, didn't realise my phone was on silent. I'm fine, nothing to worry about. I just decided to take the afternoon off. See you later.'

As soon as the message was sent, she dropped the phone on her pile of clothes on the floor and cuddled back into Killian's side. He pulled her into his arms, his nose buried in her hair as his hand trailed up and down her spine. Her lips found his neck, pressing tender kisses and lightly nipping against his skin. Gradually their lips found each others again and they settled into lazy, sloppy kisses as they shifted in the bed together.

"Mmm..." Emma sighed as she backed off from the quickly igniting kisses and licked her bottom lip, "before we start something again, perhaps we should make a move?" she suggested.

"I was just trying to make my move, love," he winked and tried to move in to kiss her again.

"Hold your horses, Pirate," she pushed her hand against his chest as she shook her head slowly at him. "I mean, I should probably at least go out on patrol or something."

Killian sighed and lay back again. "As you wish," he replied. Emma grinned to herself, there was no way he didn't know the meaning behind that phrase when he often used it so aptly.

"You can always come with me? Patrol is kind of boring, but you can keep me company in the car. And when we get back, we can get dinner?" she suggested, wanting to prolong her time with him.

"I'd like to keep you company, Swan," he smiled, stroking the back of his fingers down her bare arm.

"Right, so is there somewhere aboard I can...clean up a bit?" she asked before climbing from the bed.

"You wish to bathe?" he asked, raising one eyebrow high on his forehead.

She shrugged. "Well, I don't need to take a bath or anything. But, I would like to...freshen up a bit," she explained a little shyly, not wishing to elaborate her need further.

Killian smiled and kissed her cheek before he began to climb from the bed. "I'll go and heat some water for you." he offered.

"Oh, you don't have to go to any trouble..." she began to protest.

"It's fine, love." he assured her, pulling on his pants. "Will a wash basin of water suffice?" he asked.

She nodded. "Fine, thank you."

"Give me 10 minutes," he told her over his shoulder as he left his cabin to provide for her needs.

An hour or so later they were both clean and dressed and walking hand in hand back towards the station to pick up her car. They spent an uneventful hour or more driving around town, checking for any sign of problems or issues, but all still seemed quiet and calm. Which both relieved and unnerved her a little – they knew Gold was up to something, but he apparently had yet to truly strike and the unknown was fearsome.

Eventually, they pulled up at Granny's, both hungry for some dinner. Who knew that taking an afternoon off could work up such an appetite?
