"Dylan, honey are you sure about this?" Cody asked his niece. Dylan looked up from closing the last packing box.

"Yes, I'm sure for the last time. If it doesn't work out, I will come back to the ranch," Dylan was at least grateful her uncle was supportive. Her mother had thrown a fit. Her grandparents were more indifferent, but still hired up a good moving company to get her things shipped.

"Ok, just call me everyday," Cody said pulling her against him. Dylan huffed.

"Maybe every other day, gotta cut your apron strings."

"You're my baby, I…." Cody choked up. He loved his niece with everything he had. She would be the only kid he ever had, or as close to one as he would get.

"I know, I love you too," Dylan said kissing his cheek.

Soon, she was being driven to the airport by her granddad who had business in Cheyenne. He remained quiet, letting Dylan be alone with her thoughts. When the letters between her and Opie had gotten more intense and personal, Dylan was afraid she was falling for the man. Then three months ago it had hit her hard that she loved him far more than a friend. When she had written saying she wanted to meet him, he agreed. So she took a huge gamble and started looking for jobs around Charming and the surrounding towns. Luck or fate was in her favor and Oswald Industries was hiring for bookkeepers.

Accepting the job, she kept it a secret from Opie. Until she was settled in Charming, she wasn't taking that risk. The risk of making him mad or that she was making any assumptions about what she thought they were. But Opie had given every indication he was as into her as she was of him. It could just be prison blues…that doubt lingered. Pushing it aside Dylan pulled on her big girl pants and confidence.
