Sweet 16

I woke up to the sound of my alarm ringing. I slammed the off button and brought myself out of bed. What shall I wear today? I asked myself as I roamed my closet searching for some nice clothes. It was a special day today, but I forgot what day it was.

I had on a blue shirt with a smiling sun doodle on it. I also had on blue jeans and pink shoes. I ran downstairs, where Mum and Dad were waiting for me to come and eat breakfast. My 14-year-old sister Bingo was there, already eating.

"Hey, kid, come on and chow down!" Dad said, looking up at me. I obeyed and went and sat at the table to eat my breakfast.

"Guess who's birthday it is!" Mum said.

"Is it yours, Mum?" I asked. Everyone giggled, and I smiled, understanding that I was incorrect.

"It's yours, mate! You're turning 16, Bluey!" Dad said.

"Congrats, Bluey!" Bingo added.

"Oh! How could I forget my own birthday?" I said happily.

"It's also you and Bingo's first day of school!" Mum said. I couldn't wait to tell my new classmates that it was my birthday!

I went in Mum's car, and Bingo went in Dad's car.

"Ugh, your middle school is so far, Bluey!" Mum said in annoyance. "We're late as always..."

I laughed as we reached my middle school. I left the car with my backpack on my back, and I gave Mum a kiss on the cheek. As I entered the school, the dogs just kept to themselves, which I wasn't complaining about. I was happy to spot a familiar face, though. It was Mackenzie! A week ago, me and him became boyfriend and girlfriend. I went over to him and gave him a kiss.

"Hey, babe!" I said.

"Hey, Bluey!" Mackenzie said, wagging his tail. "Is it your birthday today?"

"Yeah! Did my parents tell you?" I asked.

"Duh! Our parents approve of our relationship, remember?" Mackenzie replied. Then we shared a laugh. I went to my locker and got ready for class.

I was in the girls' bathroom, drying off because I had showered for gym class at 1:30 (I was naked). Then suddenly, a dog burst through the door. It was Mackenzie. I was so startled that I lost grip of my towel, and it fell on the floor. Mackenzie just stood there, staring. This was the most embarrassing situation to EVER be in.

"YOU CAN STOP STARING, NOW!" I screamed with my cheeks flushed red.

"Whoa, babe, chill. I just came to say hi to my girlfriend." Mackenzie said.

"Why couldn't you pick a later time?" I asked, picking up my towel.

"Because you look sexy this way." Mackenzie replied. He approached my face.

"P-Please get out..." I stammered.

"Not today, Mrs. Sensitive." Mackenzie replied, chuckling. He snatched my towel off me and grabbed me. I got really uncomfortable.

"Mmm...M-Mackenzie, p-please stop..." I said.

"Not until you do something for me, babe." Mackenzie replied. He then did something I had no idea he would do.

Eventually, we were done "having fun" and I let out a sigh.

"Wow, that hit the spot." I said after I calmed down.

"Glad you enjoyed it, babe. Now, what time is it?" Mackenzie replied.

I checked my watch that I had left on a bathroom sink while I was bathing. My eyes widened when I saw the time.

"OH CRAP, MACKENZIE, IT'S PAST 2:00!" I said.

"WHAT?! Our parents are gonna kill us for being late for gym period!" Mackenzie replied. I told him to leave quickly, and I put my clothes back on. Fortunately, we made it to the rest of our classes.

I was on my way home by myself, deciding I was NOT going to tell my parents I missed class because of...you know. But my plans were soon foiled when I saw my Mum and Dad giving me disappointed looks.

"WHERE WERE YOU FOR GYM PERIOD?" Mum asked, holding a piece of paper in her right hand.

"I...um...uh...I...well...you see, I...was in the bathroom having 'fun' with Mackenzie." I stuttered out, knowing that lying would be a dumb idea.

"Why would you do that before gym class in school? We ended up getting a late report in the mail. You are NOT supposed to be late to classes on your first day of school!" Dad said, understanding what I meant by "having fun".

"I'm sorry...Mackenzie made us do it! It's not my fault!" I said.

"Well, you aren't allowed to hang with Mackenzie in person anymore until you graduate high school!" Mum replied. I sadly went in the house and ran up to my room crying. What would I do without Mackenzie? I decided not to text or call Mackenzie that night.
