"don't miss us too much."

romance, during the time of wilbur's last lore steam.

TW- slight mention of the suicide, be warned!

"So, you're really leaving?" I ask as tears brim in my eyes, looking over at the brunette who's beside me. Wilbur and I both sat outside of the burger van he owned, a horrible, awful, dreadful tension in the air. My chest tightens with each breath I took, still trying to take in the news I just learned about.

"Yeah," he replies with a nod, running one hand through his other. The other one moved, resting on my hand. He squeezed it for a moment, staring out at the view of the ruins of Las Nevadas. "I just- I know my time's done here, Y/n."

"So you're just leaving us? Tommy, Ranboo, Phil- you're just gonna leave me?" I push further, my voice shaking as my throat tightens. "So what, we're- we're breaking up?" My free hand grips my skirt, tears slowly falling down my face.

"Y/n, look at me," Wilbur speaks, but I keep my head lowered, avoiding his gaze.

"Y/n," he says after a moment of silence, letting go of my hand. He lifts his hands and rests them on my cheeks, lifting my head. We make eye contact and he smiles, tears brimming his own eyes. "I know you don't want that, and I don't either."

"Then don't leave," I retort, squeezing my eyes shut for a moment.

"I can't," Wilbur replies with a sigh, wiping tears from my cheeks. "My time here has come to an end, and I much go home."

I open my eyes, meeting his gaze. "Then, can- can I come with you?" I ask, reaching up to rest my hands on his.

He chuckles, smiling back at me. "I wouldn't have it any other say, my love," Wilbur responds, pressing a kiss on my forehead. My face flushes red and I smile, moving my hands and hugging onto Wilbur. He hugs me back, resting a hand on the back of my head.

"You're- you're leaving us?!" Tommy shouts, walking quickly after Wilbur and I as we walked past the burger van. "What, is this some sick way of telling me you're going to fucking off yourselves?!"

"For the last time, Tommy, we're not killing ourselves," Wilbur replies, looking back at the blonde for a moment. "We're just leaving, simple as that."

"YOU CAN'T LEAVE US, you can't leave-" Tommy paused, his voice trembling. "You can't just leave me..."

We paused as we stood near the waters and I turned, looking over at Tommy. "I'm sorry, Tommy," I mumble, sniffling as I tried to hold back tears, "but it's for the best. Our time here is done."

Wilbur nodded in agreement, running a hand through his hair. "Yeah. I've made my peace with everyone, and I must return home. And Y/n's coming with me."

"What about me, huh? I need you, Will-" Tommy is cut off when Wilbur walks over to the blonde, wrapping his arms around him.

"You've grown so much, mate," Wilbur speaks, rubbing Tommy's back as the blonde sobbed quietly into his chest. "You matured far more than I ever thought you would when I was gone, and you'll do just fine when I'm gone again. You still have Phil, and Tubbo, and all your other people, right?" Tommy nodded, keeping his face buried in the brunette's chest. "See? And look back at your life. You've survived so much, so I'm sure you can, and will, do just fine without me, alright boss man?"

Tommy lifted his head and lets go of Wilbur, meeting his eyes. "Alright," he replies as the brunette let go of him, wiping his eyes. Wilbur chuckles and rests his hand on Tommy's hand, ruffling his hair. Tommy whines and tries to push him away, chuckling. Wilbur lets out a short laugh, smiling down at the blonde. "So, I guess you're going too?" Tommy asked, looking over at me.

"Yeah," I reply through teary eyes and a shaky voice, running a hand through my hair. "But I can come back and visit. I'll have to drag this one along too, just so you don'y have to miss him too much," I add, nudging Wilbur's side with my elbow. He chuckles somberly and wraps an arm around my waist, hugging me close.

"Good, because if- if you don't, me- me and Phil will hunt you down our-ourselves," Tommy speaks, tears brimming his eyes again. Wilbur and I nod, turning and walking over to a boat Wilbur brought over earlier. He holds our his hand, helping me onto the boat. I step onto it and grab his hand, pulling him onto the boat after me. I sit down and he grabs the oars, pushing the boat away from the shore. I watch Tommy with tears in my eyes, seeing him fall to the ground, sobbing.

"I'm finally going home," Wilbur says, smiling as he lifts his hands. "I'm going home!!" I smile through my tears, watching Wilbur with a smile.

"So, Utah, huh?" I ask as Wilbur sits down.

"Yep, and I think you'll really like it," he replies, resting his hand on my knee for a moment. I smile, resting my hand on his. As long as I'm with you, I'll be happy.
