Chapter 1: Gabriel
Nothing could go wrong. At least that was the plan.
That same morning, Gabriel went to see Nathalie. He had become accustomed to going to her room to chat for a while and to organize his plans.
Nathalie had barely woken up. She was combing her hair like she always did. It one was a bit frizzy from having it loose while she slept. She was barely getting ready for her day's chores, despite the fact that Gabriel had insisted many times that she could leave her work and rest if she required it.
Nathalie was picking up her hair at the time and she proceeded to make her typical bun on her head. It just didn't fit that well.
Gabriel noticed everything.
"Let me help you, Natalie."
Gabriel sat down next to her and she turned her head for him to fix her hair. He took the pins and caught them in his teeth as he pulled her hair up into a tight bun.
He didn't notice the slight blush that appeared on Nathalie's face while he was helping her comb her hair.
When he finished, he turned to Nathalie again.
"Nathalie, today I am going to create an akuma of time."
She looked at him with some concern.
"Are you sure? You know what happened last time with Timebreaker".
Gabriel was thinking the same thing at some point.
"I'm sure, Natalie. If I don't try, how will I know it will work out?"
Natalie sighed.
"Just be very careful, Gabriel. Please."
After helping Nathalie put on the device that helped her get up, Gabriel left to begin his plan. What Nathalie told him resonated a little in his head. Would it be a bad idea?
After freeing the akuma, everything started well. Ladybug got there first and started chasing after the akuma.
But Chat Noir still hadn't arrived. And it made him lose his patience.
Nathalie called him at that very moment.
"Nathalie?"
"Gabriel there is a problem, I think the akuma is here, in the mansion" he heard her cough behind the phone.
That was when he panicked. He had to stop the akuma and get it away from the mansion. He tried to communicate with the akuma without success.
It seemed that it was time to intervene.
Gabriel left the lair trying to find out where the akuma was. He cracked open the atelier door to find Nathalie shielding a person behind her.
That person was Adrien.
He couldn't explain why Adrien was still there at the mansion when he was supposed to be at school. But these were not times for reprimands. Just before he could contact his akuma, it opened a portal through which Nathalie and Adrien disappeared.
"Nathalie! Adrien!" He yelled, seeing that both had disappeared.
They were no longer there. The akuma had just sent them to another timeline.
The akuma turned upon noticing his presence.
"No Alternative stay there, I order you. You have to bring me Ladybug and Chat Noir's miraculous."
"You won't tell me what to do."
The akuma attacked him at that moment. He felt a force pulling him back, a very powerful one that he couldn't resist.
He fell through a portal that took him to another place. The problem was knowing where it was going to take him.
One room remained dark. It was barely dawn and two figures slept together.
The sound of the alarm clock woke up the woman on bed. She, who had a red streak of hair, rubbing her eyes, turned off the alarm clock and looked at the time on the clock. It was time to get up.
She proceeded to remove the covers until a pair of arms wrapped around her waist, preventing her from getting out of it. She felt her husband's breath on the back of her neck and a growl came from him.
"Gabriel"
He stayed still and pulled her closer to her body to keep her from moving. Nathalie only put her hand on Gabriel's hand, which was on her waist.
"Gabriel, I have to go" Nathalie whispered.
"You could stay here if you wanted. I'm your boss after all" Gabriel said sleepily.
"Dear, the investors aren't going to wait for us any longer. You already canceled them 2 times."
That was when Gabriel released her. Nathalie sat on the bed and put on her robe.
"I can't convince you with anything, huh?"
Nathalie just denied.
"I'll make it up to you, I promise. You can stay here don't worry, sleep now."
He just turned around to resume his sleep for at least fifteen minutes.
Nathalie went to the bathroom to get ready. Just before Nathalie got out of the shower, Gabriel woke up fully. Nathalie left the room for a while and then came back fixing her blouse so she could finish getting ready.
The sound of the TV filled the room and it dimly lit the room. Gabriel was lying in bed, watching the news of the day.
Nathalie sat at the dressing table, getting ready. She applied makeup that matched her overall appearance.
When she was ready, she got up from the dresser and walked over to the bed to say goodbye to Gabriel.
"It's time for me to go, Gabriel."
Gabriel just looked at her seriously.
"Are you sure you want to go do this by yourself? You still have time to desist and stay with me here."
"I think it's too late for that now. Since when has Gabriel Agreste become so irresponsible?" Nathalie reproached him.
"Since I married you, my love" he said teasingly.
Nathalie denied crossing her arms for a moment.
"Okay. But next time I won't let it pass."
She leaned over the bed a little to kiss him on the lips. Gabriel pulled her closer to him to give her a hungry kiss. Nathalie pushed him back a bit as the kiss grew wilder.
"Stop it, you're going to ruin my makeup"
Gabriel just smiled and Nathalie walked away to leave the room. At the door I turn to look at him.
"Oh, and if you need anything just call me. See you in the afternoon."
Adrien walked to the front door to say goodbye to his father because Nathalie was going to take him to school first and then run her errands.
After Adrien and Nathalie left, Gabriel was left alone in the mansion. He gave his daily tour of the mansion after getting ready and then went back to his room to organize his and Nathalie's things inside the nightstand. As he did so, he looked at the photos on top for a moment. Suddenly, the device that was on the bedside table emitted a sound that indicated that he should go to one of the rooms on the second floor.
Leaving what he was doing he headed to the other side of the second floor and entered one of the rooms. He walked over to the crib and leaned down to see the little person who was waiting for his attention.
His daughter. For whom he was fighting now.
The baby squirmed a little wrapped in her blanket and she looked up at him with her beautiful blue eyes from her crib, giving him a small gummy smile.
He just took her into her arms, snuggling her between them. The baby just took one of his fingers in her frail hands.
Gabriel walked over to one of the armchairs and sat down with her still in his arms. He was like that for a long time, just enjoying the moment. Gabriel put one of the little hats he made for her before she was born, since it was a bit cold. After giving her the bottle, he cuddled her on his chest to see if he could put her to sleep.
What did he not expected was that something or someone had infiltrated the mansion. The noise outside the room alerted him and he hugged his daughter protectively, he went to the door to find out what was happening.
Gabriel found himself back at the mansion. He strangely he was no longer in the atelier, but in the main entrance of the mansion. He went in quickly and undid the transformation right there. Everything seemed normal, just as the mansion always was.
Although apparently no one was there or that was what he thought. He walked up the stairs to his room, when he noticed that the door to the next room had its door half open. It was strange because that room had no use. At least not yet.
He walked into the room, which, unlike the others in the mansion, was of a completely different vibe.
He was no longer in his time.
"Dammit."
Gabriel noted the decoration of the room. It was a children's type decoration.
It was strange.
What he hadn't realized was that there was someone else in the room.
Another Gabriel was looking at him and on his shoulder was a small bundle. He just turned slightly, as if he wanted to protect what he was carrying.
"Who are you?" Asked the Gabriel of that time.
"I am Gabriel. I am… you" answered the Gabriel of the past, irritated. As if it wasn't obvious.
The Gabriel of the future did not seem very convinced.
"Yes, of course... I'll just ask you one question, where did you meet Emilie and Nathalie?"
"At the school we used to go to. We were in Troisième and Nathalie was alone so we decided to welcome her into our group that same winter. Right under the tree that was outside the school."
No one knew about it more than him, Emilie and Nathalie herself. There was no question.
"Well, it looks like it's me."
There were still many things he wondered. The interrogation would begin right there.
"What year am I in?"
"In 2017."
That was only two years from where he came from. It seems the akuma didn't send him as far forward in time as he had thought. That gave him hope.
"Well, a lot has happened. More than I could explain. Bunnix forbade me to do it, at least not the most delicate part".
It was understandable. Maybe if he said it, those actions would never happen. But there was something he wanted to ask first.
"What about Nathalie? Is she ok?"
The Gabriel of the future decided to play along with his past self.
"Yes, better than ever, if you could say."
That gave hope to the Gabriel of the past, if so, it meant that she was no longer sick and had been cured. She had to be healthy, she had to be.
"She's still working here and she is doing very well. I gave her a well-deserved pay raise for all the work she did for me in our curricular activities" Gabriel held up his fingers in quotes.
And to top off his future past self, he wanted to give him a little hint of Nathalie's future.
"And she is now happily married."
The Gabriel of the past couldn't help but feel a hint of jealousy. His Nathalie, married. Who would imagine it? Although he wondered, with whom?
He moved a little closer to the other Gabriel. When he did, he noticed what he was carrying.
It was a baby.
He observed in detail the baby that the other Gabriel was carrying. The baby wore lavender-colored clothing, as well as having thick, almost black, dark hair.
"And tell me, did we make it?"
Future Gabriel took a while to grasp what he was referring to until he remembered. He rolled his eyes a little at his actions from the past.
"If you mean what happened to Emilie. Let me tell you the answer is no."
The Gabriel of the past looked quite surprised. And angry.
"NO!?"
"Exactly. Let's just say that I realized it wasn't worth it" said the Gabriel of the future as he took one of the baby's hands.
"What are you talking about…?"
Just then, footsteps were heard approaching the baby's room. The door opened and a woman walked through it. But the Gabriel of the past was surprised to notice who it was.
It was Nathalie.
But this Nathalie was very different from the one he knew. She no longer wore her usual professional clothes. She now dressed more casually, she styled her hair differently and she looked just as healthy before she started using the Peacock Miraculous. She even she seemed more… Relaxed?
She stood there, motionless watching the scene that was in front of her eyes. He found herself in front of two almost completely identical Gabriel's.
"What is going on?" At that point, Nathalie was beginning to believe that there might be akumatized person somewhere in Paris.
She looked both ways. There was only one Gabriel who was carrying her daughter and holding her protectively against himself.
She already knew which Gabriel was hers.
Nathalie slowly approached Gabriel from the past. That relieved him a bit.
"Oh Nathalie, I'm glad you're here, this is a misunderstanding..."
She got close enough to him only for Nathalie to grab him by the neck and perform a headlock causing her to kneel. Was she pinning him down?
"What are you doing Nathalie?" He choked out.
"Leave him, I'll take care of him" the Gabriel of the future pronounced, deciding to intervene.
She released him immediately. Gabriel caught his breath. Nathalie went to examine her Gabriel. She took him from the face and started checking him.
"Are you OK? Didn't he hurt you, Gabriel?" she asked, quite worried.
"Don't worry, Nathalie, I'm fine. And our daughter too."
Nathalie saw her daughter and stroked her daughter's cheek a little, who was still oblivious to what was happening. The Gabriel of the past noticed how the gaze of his other self softened when Nathalie approached him.
At that moment, a portal opened in the room. Bunnix stepped out of it, folding her arms.
"Looks like I already found where the time anomaly was."
She addressed the Gabriel of the past.
"It's time to go back to your time, Mr. Agreste."
He just nodded. Before he could enter the portal, the Gabriel from that future stopped him.
"Wait. I need a word with him before he leaves. Can I Bunnix?"
"Granted" Bunnix said without hesitation.
The Gabriel of the past heard the other Gabriel approaching Nathalie.
"Nathalie hold her for me please."
Nathalie received the baby in her arms cradling her head in between the crook her neck, kissing her head in the process.
The Gabriel of the future took past Gabriel from the edges of his jacket.
"I hope that when you go back to your time, nothing will happen at this point in the timeline. If I find out something happened to Nathalie or my daughter, or even Adrien, I'll make you pay."
Future Gabriel released him roughly. The Gabriel of the past was only trying to recover what little dignity he had left before returning to his time.
At night Gabriel went to his bedroom with the baby in his arms. He hadn't left her side all day, after the incident. Quite tired, he lay down on the bed with her on her chest. By this time, she had fallen asleep. Gabriel just closed his eyes.
The door opened. The person who entered closed the door softly. Gabriel felt the bed sink under the weight of the person who had entered. At that distance he could recognize the cologne Nathalie was wearing.
"Gabriel."
Gabriel opened one of his eyes.
"Good night, love" Nathalie kissed his cheek.
Gabriel opened one of his eyes and put his arm around Nathalie's shoulder, pulling her closer to him.
"Are you happy with me? Would you change any of this?" Gabriel asked, remembering how it was in the past. What a jerk he was with his own family.
"What do you mean, if I would change you? if I would change everything I have with you?"
He just nodded slightly.
Nathalie just settled her head on his shoulder and ran her free hand down the baby's back. She planted a kiss on Gabriel's lips as her response left her lips.
"No, I wouldn't change it for the world."
Hello everyone, I came back with this Gabenath fic of two chapters, before season 5 continues to be released. I took the year 2015 as a base (Year in which Miraculous was released) in this story to be able to justify the passage of time in the future. Next week I will be publishing the second and last chapter.
