Ch1

Once upon a time in a world far, far away, at the edge of the multiverse, there was an enormous land. A huge land in the biggest ocean ever, that appeared to be like a normal island, but was occupied by a team of special people. Each person was known as a great hero, and they all decided to stay together after finishing the biggest war of their lives. And for the past eight months, they have continued their job, which was protecting their home and other dimensions from any threat that would potentially be as great as their last enemy.

They did it together as the biggest team yet, and never stopped loving it. Sticking together, actually. Especially the hero who started it all. His name was Garrett Ese, the very kid filled with more "timeless powers" than everyone else, and it was because of his friends that every hero decided to stick together in their new home. He loved it all. He and his team got to fight bad guys, took care of all their families and towns (which were all together in the one land), and best of all…he got to hang out with all his friends everyday. He was finally able to gain the life he wanted, and so did his friends. And that was his greatest power: Family.

"'Which would make some believe that that would be the very end of his adventurous stories forever.' Unless someone else decides to fight them next in the future." Said one voice. The voice of the man in a black and blue suit that finished reading his latest book. He smiled, and was sitting in one of the passenger seats behind the pilot of the small plane they were flying on.

The pilot said, "Pretty neat writing, C." And she turned out to be a beautiful red-flame haired girl named Sunset Shimmer. She was flying the plane and finished listening to her friend, CR, read his book.

"Thanks, Sunset." He said to her. "And thanks for taking the time to listen to me read it. I needed a judge to see how my new book would look before I publish it."

"No problem. Being a story maker myself, I love hearing about new stories, and the ones you've been writing lately have been fantastic."

"Hmm. To be honest, that means a lot coming from you. Though, does it really sound okay? I know Garrett never talks much about the war since before I met you guys, but I'm really interested in publishing this new book and…"

"Don't worry, C. He doesn't have any problems with it anymore. I know you weren't there when it happened but it's good that you care. And from what I've seen, he's always been the happiest since this team stayed together. Which is why we're seeing him right now. To get him to celebrate his-"

"'Gang-iversary'? Hehe. I know. I'm just hoping it will turn out okay."

"Hmm." Sunset smiled, and chuckled from his pun. "It will. Oh, here we go."

Her smile grew wider as she quickly steered the plane to the next direction, where they made it through the ocean and reached their destination.

The turn was so rough though that it made C hold onto his seat tight and say in a hurling tone, "Whoa! Sunset, you were coming in a little rough there."

She said, "Sorry about that. I've just been getting used to this plane too much since COMP and Demetrius built it."

"I can agree with the 'too much' part." C chuckled. And then stared at his friend dreamily, because her cockiness gave him another reason to admire her. In fact, he was secretly in love with her ever since they first met. Everyday he always loved her voice, her hair, kindness and boldness, and the beauty she had to outmatch all of her friends. But he never wanted to tell her that, so he shook his head from the sudden daydream and said, "Anyway, are we actually getting closer?"

"Definitely." She said. "In fact, we're here now."

She pointed to the place, which was Garrett Ese's "Timeless Station," the space station that gave him the power to go anywhere. But, he currently used it as the fortress of solitude near the island of everyone's new home world. In the snow area.

CR was only a member of the team for half a year, but every time he saw Garrett's ship, he became frozen with the feeling of amazement. Thinking he had so much to be happy about. From the front of the ship, Sunset was able to gently park her vehicle to the entrance, then the two got inside. Where CR was able to also look and admire the garage.

Sunset noticed and said, "Still like it, huh?"

"'Like it' would be an understatement. All these gadgets, weapons, plans, ideas. These are only some of the things that make me jealous of him."

"Only some, huh?" Sunset thought to herself. "Hmm. Somehow, I can already guess what the other thing is." She giggled.

"What's so funny?" CR asked.

"Oh nothing." Then she continued smiling as she pulled out a present.

"And I've also been meaning to ask, what do you get him for the occasion?"

"Like I'm gonna tell. I want the surprise to be special. Plus, you know he still has that whole sixth sense ability, so I don't want to risk spoiling anything."

"If you say so." CR smiled. Then they approached the elevator and let it take them to the upper floor.

During that time, C brought out a small envelope from his pocket, which surprised Sunset a little.

Making her say, "C, please don't tell me that's another gift certificate?"

"Of course not. It's cash."

"You sure you didn't get him and the others something a little more special?"

"Easier said than done, my good friend. What else can get for the man who has everything?"

Once he finished that statement, Sunset rolled her eyes and smiled before the elevator stopped. Then when the door opened, the two teenagers were ready to give their dear friend a big surprise. Sunset chanted, "Hey Garrett! Happy Gang-iver…" Only to see that the surprise was on them.

"Garrett!" Sunset and C ran to Garrett Ese, the man who was lying in the center of the big room and had something on him. There was a black parasite on his chest, and he appeared to be unconscious.

"What the?" Sunset questioned as she touched him. "What in the world is that thing?"

C said, "I don't know. But…but there's something very familiar about it." Both of them were curious and hoped that there was nothing harmful going on with Garrett. Then CR looked beside him and saw a canister. So he picked it up and saw a tag on it that said "Surprise."

"Looks like we're not the only ones with gifts here."

"Ugh." Sunset shivered, then hearing a faded clinging sounded before looking around. "C, I have a feeling we're also not the only ones here too. You stay here and help Garrett. I'm gonna take a look around."

"Me? Okay. Just be careful."

Then Sunset used her magic gem to transform into her Rainbow Form and flew around the extra rooms in the ship. CR stayed and looked at the parasite on Garrett.

"What is it about you that makes me recognize you?" He questioned, and from his suit he pulled out a couple tools. A flashlight to check his pupils. But by working on them, there was no reaction from Garrett. So C replied, "Eyes aren't responding to the light even slightly." Then he checked his pulse. "Pulse is still active, and you appear to be breathing, but barely. And this thing, it looks like it's going through your shirt and into your skin." Then he used a small knife to poke the parasite. It nearly flinched but Garrett still didn't make a single movement.

"Ese, what is going on with you, my friend?" CR was still puzzled.

Moments later, CR was still watching over Garrett's body, and picked up the canister. "'Surprise'?" He still wondered. "What kind of person would send you this? Probably teleported here from some other race? A grateful race. Or maybe a race that wanted you to think they were grateful." CR continued looking at the case until a new voice appeared.

"How smart of you to realize that. And here I thought mankind was losing its intelligence more and more."

CR looked over and saw that the voice came from a large bulky robot from the corner, and he appeared to have been carrying an unconscious Sunset Shimmer in his hands.

"What the? X7?" CR revealed his name.

"That's right. I take it Garrett and his friends told you about me? I will say I should be flattered since I had a feeling they would forget about me after what they did to me."

"What they did to you? From what I heard, you hurt them. You betrayed Garrett's team after promising that you left Black Naval Empire. Not to mention that you almost killed Peter and Hiro."

"Details, details. By the way, don't even think about trying to get COMP to help you. I deactivated her hours ago. Also, I imagine you're expecting me to explain what that thing is."

C looked at it again, and finally realized, "You know what? I don't think you have to. What I do wanna know is where you even got a Black Mercy?"

"Clever kid. All the more reason for me to do this." Then suddenly he threw Sunset at CR, which made them both hit a wall.

"Ow. Ah, Sunset." CR got off of Sunset and tried waking her up. "Sunset, come on." Then he turned to see X7 charging at him. "Whoa, whoa!" CR panicked a little before Sunset suddenly opened her eyes and shot out a rainbow laser against X7. "Ah!" He flew across the room, and Sunset shook her head a little.

"Hey, you okay?" CR asked her.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Other than the fact that that jerk came out of nowhere. Was that X7?"

"Afraid so. The adapter, which means we're a little bit out of league here."

"I can see that." Then CR helped her up as she said, "But that doesn't mean I'm gonna stop here."

"Same. I'm with ya, and Garrett."

"Have you figured out what that thing is?"

"Yeah. And right now he's safe, but not for long. And it starts with taking care of X7 here."

"Oh, how cute." Said X7 as he got up. "You two lovebirds actually think you can get rid of me? Then I'd like to see you try." He chuckled, and with full determination, the two heroes actually charged toward him. Though he just stood where he was, expecting them to fail, he didn't know who he was dealing with.

Unbeknownst to the two heroes, Garrett was more active than they thought. Or at least in his mind. Because in Garrett's mind…he was not in the ship, or even in the Endless universe that he and his team called home. He was somewhere else, in a nice room with normal but beautiful furniture, including a large comfy bed. Garrett was laying on that bed, sleeping peacefully until he heard a sudden loud sound.

"Wake up call. This is your wake up call." Garrett groaned and opened his eyes to see that it was his hovering robot turning on the alarm. "This is your wake up call, Mr. Ese." It said again, before Garrett replied, "Okay, okay. COMP, off." Then he threw his pillow at the robot, and sat up before rubbing his face from the exhaustion he still felt. "Man, I hate that alarm."

"Me too. But if it makes me wake up and you are the first thing I see every morning, then I think it's worth it." Said a red-haired girl that was next to Garrett.

"Hmm." Garrett smiled. "Thanks Jewel. And great, now you're making me feel guilty about what I just said."

"Only because you hate offending me, hehe." Jewel laughed and pressed her hand to Garrett's cheek. "How are you feeling?" She asked.

"Fine. Just…" Garrett yawned. "really tired."

"Well, that's what my husband gets for staying up all night." Jewel chuckled again.

"Hey, cut me some slack, sweetie. I was working all night with my journals."

"Sure, dear. I know they say reading is good for you, but writing too much might just be…well, too much."

"Good comeback." Garrett smiled and hugged his wife, who got to say, "But you know what's considered better?"

"What?"

"Spending a little more quality time with your wife." Then she kissed him, to which he enjoyed and made him hug her more. But suddenly, Garrett noticed a faint light coming from the window. It seemed to be blue and only a little bright. He wanted to ask about it but Jewel kissed him again. Which made both of them hope they would sleep more until COMP beeped, "Just a quick reminder: I would just like to say that Mr. Ese's 'High School Reunion' party is tonight, and your dad wants you and your kids to come to visit him at his work."

"Aww." Jewel complained, then threw her pillow at COMP.

Garrett laughed again. "Thanks for the reminder, COMP. And Jewel, how about we work on getting some breakfast, okay?"

"Sure."

Garrett had a big smile on his face, seeing his wife happy and being in a home that would fit his desire, making him believe he was living in a life he wanted.

Moments later, he and Jewel were in their kitchen. Jewel was sitting on the table, reading the papers, and having a good cup of herbal tea. Enjoying herself, and even enjoyed watching her husband work at the kitchen island. Garrett was smiling while baking some waffles.

"Hey Harrison, Abby, breakfast is almost ready. Come down here." Garrett called his kids.

Jewel said, "Hey Garrett?"

"Yeah?"

"Do you wanna do anything after the party tonight?"

"Oh. Well, honestly, I have a few ideas. For starters, I think the kids would like-" Suddenly, before he finished, he nearly slipped off the ground. But looked down and noticed a little "surprise" on the floor.

Jewel giggled, "Well, well. It looks like the dog left you a present for the anniversary. COMP, could you please clean up the-?" Before she finished, Garrett stopped the command and tore out a few napkins to clean up his shoe. "It's their job to look after the dog, so they need to clean it up." He said. Garrett cried in a stern tone, "Kids, I want you to come down here now!"

"We're here, we're here!" Said two kids. They were twins, one brown haired boy and a blonde girl, and both of them appeared to be six years old and they had their fully grown golden retriever with them.

As soon as they finally came down from the stairs and into the kitchen, they said, "Yes, Dad. Oh." They looked down and realized the problem. The girl held her big dog, worried about him getting punished. The boy just stood his ground to listen to his father.

"Harrison. Abby. You know we only allowed you to keep this dog if you-"

"-promised to take care of him. We know." Harrison said.

Abby, "Sorry, Dad."

Then suddenly, Garrett made a small smile and kneeled down to their level. He said, "Sorry isn't always good enough, kids. You know that we Eses always have to-"

"-live up to our responsibilities. We know." Both kids said. Then Harrison, "I'll do it." He grabbed a small vacuum and used it to clean up the mess on the floor.

"So does this mean we're not invited to the other party tonight? Oops." Said Abby.

Garrett, "What other party?"

Jewel, "Um…Abby, I think you're confused. Rolly Jr's birthday party isn't until next month. Now, don't worry, you two just clean up the mess, and be sure to take Jody out because you'll be leaving to see Grandpa soon."

"Really?!" The twins got excited, and quickly led the dog out so they could get ready.

Then as the two adults were alone, Garrett looked at his wife and said, "I told you I don't want a surprise party."

"And you're not getting one." Jewel smiled.

"I'm serious. It's not even my birthday yet, so tonight is only about us and our friends getting together."

"I know, I know. But you also know how much our friends care too much. And don't think that they are gonna feel the same way you do. You're one of the reasons why this gang has even stuck together for so long."

Garrett wanted to argue with her more, but hearing her statement and seeing her feel so proud of herself, he couldn't. So they held their hands, and both made another loving kiss.

Notes & Disclaimers:

This short story is marked in the DC category because it's based on the episode of Justice League Unlimited: "For The Man Who Has Everything." Which is based on the comic that, I believe, has the same name.

MLP is Hasbro IP.

The Gang Stories/Secrets is my IP.

Some of the characters are based on real people.

• "Rainbow Form": As in the magic costume she wore since "Forgotten Friendship" when she and the others were in trouble.

• "Black Naval Empire" and "Peter and Hiro": A little detail from the fanfiction related to this. ("The Gang Secrets: FanFiction Series").

• "Endless Universe": That's actually the name of their home.

Hey everyone! If you are reading this, and are invested in it just a little, then let me say thank you. I know I haven't made any showings lately on FanFictionNet, but don't worry. While I may have been on hiatus from FFN, I haven't been on hiatus from other spots. I got to share tons of photos on DeviantArt and Twitter, and a little bit on Instagram.

Plus I am here now and with this: a 3 chapter short story based on a good and emotional story based on DC comics. This version focuses on one of my characters, Garrett Ese, being the Superman of this. And another version of me and Sunset Shimmer being the Batman and Wonder Woman. It is also a showing of how "The Gang Stories: FanFiction Series" may end differently than what I already have planned.

Let me know what you think of it, and if I may suggest, if you want to leave a comment, maybe leave it after you read Chapter 3. Thank you.

But I'm not done mentioning some things yet. So if you're willing to, get ready to listen to my talkative side again.

First off, the last short story I posted in September was "Tales of the Copycats," a re-showing of the series of copycat variations of my favorites. It's still in progress, so if you're reading it, please let me know what you think of it.

This month, I did publish something besides this.

It was about, I think, 8 days ago. I released Ch6 of another DC related FanFiction. About my own parody of Sonic the Hedgehog and the gang as the Justice League. A little thing to commemorate the director's cut of the Justice League.

Now, so far, I might not publish anything else here this month. Especially not another Halloween special for this year. "Island of Villains" was tough for more reasons than one, and I can't even remember too much of what I thought about while making "Rio: A New Kind of Spook." Rest assured, you'll still see some new stuff from me every once in a while. I have shared a couple things Halloween related, and if you want to see that and my other images, then I hope this site will permit me to share this:

deviantart com / t8ecr34t0r / gallery

twitter com / cr34t0r2016

On that note, maybe this story does count as something Halloween-ish. Some Halloween stories include people getting possessed, like how Garrett is in this, and psycho villains trying to stop the good guys from winning. Do you guys agree with that?

For my other stories, what I can try to publish next is either a chapter or two to any of my earlier fanfictions. I was able to finish, perhaps, some a while back. Or I can do that with my newer fanfictions, as well as try to work on the newer stories. As a matter of fact, for some of the future fanfictions I claimed I was gonna publish, I'm now considering doing otherwise.

Some of the stories…

Arsenal Saga

A Creator's War

A Piece of History

Another Magic Restart

Apollo 20

The Cerebro Herb

The G1-7000 Stories

Johnathan and Mrs. Brisby

Tiago's Strange Crew

The Universal War

And possibly a little more.

seem like a lot to work on. Which shows that I've been too ambitious or too optimistic once again. So, what I plan to do is that, instead of publishing them on FFN, I'm thinking of including them as part of my "C's Summary Collection" on DeviantArt. They will be part of my series of summaries, where everyone can read the short descriptions (synopsis) of each tale. And if I feel optimistic enough for any of them, before or after finishing them, then I'll try to post them as full-stories again. Although, unless the site's rules say otherwise, please tell me if I'm allowed to post a series on FFN that just shows summaries of stories?

If I post "C's Summary Collection" on FFN, DeviantArt, and Wattpad, then hopefully it'll gain even more attention.

Now it looks like I've said literally too much, so I'll save more of my Author Note words until the end of Ch3. Enjoy, and thanks again for reading.

Please follow me on FFN, DeviantArt, Wattpad, Twitter, and Instagram. Thank you.
