ENTRY 3
DRUNKEN SQUIRREL
Elliott Swan, age five, took this picture of a squirrel trying to steal one of her family's Jack-O-Lanterns. Once she informed her GrandPoppy, Forks Police Chief Charlie Swan, and Mama, Bella, I am told that a great chase happened. One of which Forks had never seen.
There sadly was no video of our favorite Police Chief chasing said squirrel or of Bella tripping on said Jack-O-Lantern and a tree root that was hidden in the leaves when the squirrel abandoned it, breaking her right arm and wrist in the process.
Sadly, the Jack-O-Lantern didn't make it. No charges are pending and the squirrel was later seen stealing from a bird feeder on the lawn.
Chief Swan told me that he was proud of his granddaughter for staying out of the way of the adults trying to get the pumpkin back. He also said that he was proud of Bella for her newest record for staying out of Forks Community Hospital, 99 days. He's hoping she will make it longer this time.
