ENTRY 6
A CONVERSATION WITH MY KILLER

Riley B Biers. His name has haunted her dreams for a year. Bella had only known him for a few months before the news of his murder was revealed to the sleepy town of Forks. Grief coursed through her at the loss of her friend, but time moves on and everyone forgets; except Bella.

For days she would beg her father, the chief of police, for any information he had about the cold case before he too vanished.

His body was found the next day, in a dumpster behind the station.

When Bella viewed the body as there was no other kin (Bella's mother had run off when she was young, and Charlie Swan was the only family she had.) Small puncture marks were on his neck, a matching set on Riley's when Bella broke in to view his records.

Bella was soon labeled crazy as she tried desperately to get the rest of the police to listen to her. That there was a reason for their deaths. Even her best friend Jacob had laughed…until Halloween.

Where her sweet friend had once stood during a heated argument about the murders, a huge intimidating werewolf stood before her. That was when she learned the truth. Every Halloween, monsters come out to play. As soon as the clock turned 12, magic was loose in the world.

The old tales and whispers of legends were rooted in truth; salting the door to keep demons away and the jack o' lanterns were put out to ward off evil spirits…children's tales to keep them safe. Only vampires were getting stronger; the hunters were hungry, and the small samples weren't enough anymore. The murder of the Biers family along with her father made them strong and Jacob predicted that on Halloween night was when the final strike would occur.

Although the weapons of stakes and garlic were useless; knives coated in werewolf venom were a different story. So here she was, dressed as a vampire herself (no fangs for her, unfortunately) as she sipped her water by the bar keeping her eyes peeled for the monsters that moved through the dark. The fact she was here at all was a miracle, but she proved herself to Jacob's pack and was trained as a hunter herself. Although she had no superpowers of her own, she was more than capable of tackling the supernatural.

One being in particular; nameless and faceless; he moved through the dark and was her key to unlocking the nest of where these monsters hid. Rumor had it this was where they hunted and was the same bar Riley frequented the night of his disappearance before his body was found the next day. Not that it wasn't a good choice; the alcohol was cheap, and the people were cheaper. The whole 'club' was one big warehouse with frequent backdoors and dark alleyways that made it far too easy for someone to go on unnoticed. Or something.

"Bella, copy; how are things?" The earpiece squawked and Jacob's voice prickled as she sipped more of her water.

"Quiet so far. No sign of life but we have two hours to go." She answered back quietly, the thumping of the bass drowned out her voice as she turned back to the bar, her eyes catching sight of the man with dirty blonde curls a few seats down. She didn't notice him come in and his skin was pale, almost unnatural.

Supernatural.

"Hold on, I think I have something" She whispered hurriedly and drummed her fingers on the wood, as he slowly moved away from the bar; weaving through the crowd as she closely, moving through the writhing bodies and followed until he left down a back door ally that led to the docks.

"Bella, don't you dare. I have eyes on you." Sam's voice carried in her earpiece as she huffed.

"He's one of them I know it." She whispered back as she followed and kept pace with the blonde hair man and fingered the handle of the knife in her bra.

"We know; we recognized him. Don't go near him, he's part of the southern coven that's been at war over territory."

"Then he won't mind some human poking around." She replied easily as she leaned against the wall and took a deep breath. The weight of different weapons brought it down as she shrugged it on.

"Damn it, don't be stupid!" Jacob yelled in her ear as Bella grimaced at the sudden pitch.

"I just have some questions. They are uninterested in us. I have an hour left. This might be the last chance we have for a whole year. Keep my 6 boys." She instructed as she headed out the door, the instant relief of the salty air instead smoke and sweat hit her face and she smiled softly to herself as the soft breeze carried wisps of her hair around her face.

It was quiet except for the low hum of music that came from behind her. A few people lingered, mostly smoking or enjoying the air. However, the dirty blonde curls were nowhere in sight but a creature like that wouldn't prefer all the people heading toward the city anyways. Bella curled her lip as she started to head towards the back end of the dock, the lights flickering in the dying light and the night air, the sense of danger

A few blocks was all she managed to get before the crowds thinned and only a few loitered around, although their hurried footsteps left her alone in the mist as she sat on a nearby bench and relaxed against the railing. As she closed her eyes she focused mainly on the cool breeze until a low chuckle caught her attention and her eyes flashed open as the man with the dirty curls sat beside her, relaxed and assured as he smirked at her as her eyes widened.

"If you wanted to chat, all you had to do was ask." He said lowly, his eyes flashing and lips curling as he grabbed her earpiece and crushed it between his fingertips like it was a bug. Gulping she froze as he flicked away the pieces and stared at her as she tried hard to quell the rising panic in her chest.

"You're not one to easily approach." Her voice trembled as she tried to move away but her body remained frozen in place. He only smiled wider as he rolled his eyes while his sharp teeth glinted in the moonlight.

"Yet you came anyway. You reek of wolf and judging from the insults hurled at me I judge we only have a few minutes regardless Miss Swan." He lulled as she stared in shock at her name. "What? You're surprised I know who you are? You know what I am, and you still judge me from mere human limits. I'll say I'm disappointed with the would-be hunter of the North."

"Hunter of the North? Flashy title for a mere human." She replied shakily as he laughed, the sound tinkling in the air like bells.

"Your name is familiar to anyone who knows anything. Flashy title for someone who has successfully hunted covens of vampires. I assume that's what you're doing? Warn me away from the hunting grounds?" he joked as she glared.

"I'm here for information." She said hardened as he quipped his eyebrow and crossed his legs, a picture of relaxation yet his expression was carefully schooled.

"Well, now that is interesting. How may I be of service?" he smirked as she clenched her teeth and brought out her phone, the picture of her father glowing on the screen.

"Do you recognize this man?" She asked carefully as he leaned in close, studying the photo as his eyes scanned the screen.

"Possibly. What if I did?" He smiled as she took in a deep breath.

"I'm looking for information about his death. There were puncture marks on his neck. He was murdered last year and I know your kind runs in tight circles. I just want to know who did it." She replied easily as he studied my expression, his eyes guarded and shoulders tense.

"So, you would kill them? A human…. murdering a vampire?" He said softly, his voice carried on the wind.

"I would do what's needed to make my home safe again." She responded as she lowered the phone and stared intensely into his golden eyes.

"Well, now that's a pity. Surely, you've come up with a better answer than that." He chuckled lowly as the breeze shifted and he inhaled deeply; his own eyes turning dark. "Then again perhaps there is more to you Bella Swan. Very well, I'll assist you in your request….if you help me." He smiled slowly as her body tensed, her arms and legs becoming heavy as her head lolled to the side and collapsed on the bench. Her breath came in quick bursts as the cold set into her bones and three hooded figures arrived surrounding her.

She couldn't even move her lips to scream before the blonde-haired man stood quickly and spoke softly to the hooded figure closest to him. "I would make introductions but sadly, we are on a limited schedule." He smiled sadly as he pushed a lock of hair out of her face gently.

"Jasper, we don't have time for this." A soft voice echoed hurriedly as he shook his head.

"As you can tell." He chuckled "We do have to get going. You'll be of great use to me Isabella. Count yourself lucky that you've been chosen for this honor." He smirked as he lifted her body easily; arms and legs swaying as if she weighed nothing and the swelling panic in her chest was snuffed out like a fire with water.

"No need to fear Isabella," Jasper whispered as she wanted to thrash and scream yet all she could do was nothing. She stared in horror as his black eyes glinted in the moonlight. "You'll have answers very soon just as I'll be free of this burden…. very soon. Welcome to the club, it will be a bloody good time." He smiled as the scream escaped her throat as the hooded figure surrounded her, the world going black.

It wasn't until an hour later that Jacob was able to locate Bella's last known location. The werewolves traveled all over Seattle and Forks to find her. They never saw her again.

Alive.
