Selina: What happens now?

Bruce: I don't know.

~ Quotes from Gotham, Season 5, Episode 12

The new Wayne Manor stood on a hill in Gotham and inside its walls lived Selina, Bruce, Alfred, and little Thomas, whom had been named after Bruce's father. Thomas was nearly three and quite a little man. He wanted to be a super hero, just like his daddy.

After Bruce's return to Gotham, he and Selina had admitted their feelings of love, and it wasn't long at all before they resumed their romance. She had been speechless when he asked her to marry him, although she knew it was fate and that somehow she had always known they'd end up together. Little Thomas though had taken her by surprise. She had never imagined having children in their "what happens now?"

"Do you regret marrying me? Having a child?" Bruce asked Selina one night as she was preparing for bed, standing in her nightie before the mirror, brushing her lovely, but unruly curls. They were twirled around her face like a dazzling crown.

"How could you even ask that?" she said as she set the brush aside, looking into his eyes. "I love you. And I love our son... so much."

"But your had to give up your wild ways and your cat burgler days."

"Nights, Bruce... I always struck in the night," she reminded. "I may have given that up, but I've gained so much more. And besides, I have my precious kitty."

Tabby, her kitten stretched in the bed, purring happily. "I have my kitty, too," he said as he pulled her close, lightly sipping at her lips. She made a purring sound deep in her throat, not unlike that of the cat.

Pulling back from the kiss, she caressed his cheek, gazing at him lovingly. "And I have my bat. I could not ask for more."

"Cat, you are beautiful," he said huskily. "I am so glad I came back to Gotham... to you. I could not stay away. I will never leave you again. I swear it."

"That is good, because I threw up a hairball again this morning," she said softly. "It would appear that your Cat is about to have kittens."

"Kittens?" he gasped.

She laughed softly, seeing the stunned expression on his handsome face. "Well, yes. It's twins this time. That means two, you know."

"I know what it means," he said as he continued to hold her. "Are you... sure?"

"Yes. It's fate. But this is it. No more after they come. I'm getting spayed."

He chuckled at all of her cat references. "That's good. I was hoping you wouldn't ask me to alter my... equipment."

Now it was her turn to let out a soft laugh. "No, I truly like your equipment and I prefer to keep it just as is."

He lifted her in his arms and carried her to the bed and made love to her as he did almost every night. Tabby, the cat, rose quickly, disturbed by their loving and shot under the bed. Bruce would have smirked, but he was far too busy sharing passion with his wife. He forgot all about twins and the cat as their hearts and souls merged in ecstasy.

Six months later...

After a short stay at the hospital, Bruce and Selina returned home with their newly born twins, a little boy and a baby girl. Thomas, who had just turned four, came to admire his infant siblings. "They won't play with me. All they do is poop and cry!" he exclaimed in disappointment.

Bruce rubbed his son's dark hair, so like his own. "They have to grow up a little more, then they can play with you, Son. Before long we'll hear the pitter patter of tiny feet all over the place."

"Paws," Selina lightly corrected as she stared at her baby daughter snuggled up in her arms.

"I am glad we named her Helena. I think it suits her. Don't you?" asked Bruce as he too looked upon their second-born child.

Selina nodded. "Yes. And thank you for coming up with the suggestion of Kyle for her twin brother's name. It is purr-fect."

"Thomas, Helena, and Kyle Wayne. We have a full house now."

Alfred stepped into the room, carrying a couple of warmed bottles of formula for the twins. "Thank you," Selina said as she took one of the bottles and prepared to feed her daughter. The little one latched on eagerly as Bruce proceeded to fed her twin.

"The twins are here. What happens now?" Selina asked Bruce, gazing into his eyes with wonderous love.

"I don't know... but with you, my Cat. I am certain it's going to be great."
