Glitch's POV

Home. I would rather be home rather than here at school. Val and I are in our 4th hour art class...yeah, art. Not my best subject, but I need the credit and I want to improve my art skills. It's currently 12:15 pm. 10 minutes until lunch, and 2 hours until the school day is over.

As I sit here in class focusing on my work, I grow anxious and restless. I really don't want to go to lunch. Stuff always happens to me at lunch that I wish would never happen to me or to anyone else.

Val and I can go get Subway or something. I want to get away from school. 5th hour is advisory, and we have online classes 6th hour. I mean, nothing goes on 5th hour, and the online classes we can work on at home.

I pull out my phone and message Val. Even though she's sitting next to me, the teacher wants the class to be quiet for the period. Although, he didn't say anything about having our phones out.

Me: Hey Val, would you like to go to Subway for lunch?

Val: Sure. Why not have lunch here?

Me: We'll talk over lunch.

Val: Are you okay?

Me: Wait until we leave for lunch.

Val: I love you, Glitch.

Me: I love you too, Val.

One minute before the bell, and everyone including us are packing up and ready to go to lunch. My heart is pulsating even more as I wait for the bell to ring. I need to leave.

ring ring ring ring* Finally, the bell rings! Val and I exit the class along with the rest of the class. We merge out to the hallway filled with students. We start to make our way to the office to sign out, but then, I sensed trouble out of the blue.

"Ahh!" I exclaim as I slam into the wall, cutting Val off of her walking path, and leaving me sore in the process.

"Watch where you're going, lover boy." He teases, proceeding the teasing with "Why don't you dance your way out of the school?" He ended, snickering.

"Only gay guys dance! Take your Ballerina ass out of here!" Someone else snickered, proceeding to tease me.

"Go away! No wonder no one likes you!" Val screamed out of pure anger.

"Awe, isn't that cute. Hey Jaylen, the dancer's girlfriend is sticking up for him." The first guy continues to snicker.

"He's hurt! Why the fuck would you do that? What did Glitch ever do to you?" Val shot back, growing more furious.

"You know, I could be a better boyfriend than this gay ass dancer." The same guy continues to push, and flirt with Val.

"Dylan, no one is going to date your rude ass! Give it up!" Val cried, as tears start to form.

"H-He-Help." I muster out as I tried to roll on my back.

"Sure, I'll help." Jaylen smirks as he walks over and kicks me on my left side.

"Stop it! He's hurt enough!" Val yells as she pushes him away, making him tumble back into Dylan.

"Go get him Jaylen!" Dylan bursts out as he hyped him up.

"With pleasure." Jaylen smirks as he ran to me, ready to fight.

"Not on my watch!" Val shouts back as she threw herself forward to protect me from getting hurt even more than I am now.

"Hey, break it up!" A teacher yells and broke both Val and Jaylen up.

During the whole process, I was able to get up and brush the dirt off of my outfit. It didn't help that I was wearing a white hoodie and black sweats. Some of the dirt streaks are noticeable on the outfit, but I could care less right now. Besides, I had a friend of mine escort me to the office.

"Thank you, Ryder. I appreciate you walking me here." I thank as I offer him a handshake.

"Anytime. Let me know if you need anything else." He replies as he shakes my hand.

"I got it from here. Go enjoy lunch." I chuckle as both of us release our hands.

"See ya." He replies to me and exits the office.

"Glitch, what happened?" One of the secretaries asks out of concern.

"Jaylen, Dylan, Val and I got into a fight." I answer as I rub my side.

"Why don't you sit down. Do you want some ice?" She asks as she leaves her desk and starts to walk away.

"Sure. It wouldn't be a bad idea." I requested as I sat down.

Next thing I see is Val walking into the office. We made eye contact, and then the secretary came back with ice.

"Hey Val." The secretary greets as she hands me the ice pack.

"Thank you, Mrs. Rosielle." I thank as I place the ice pack on my head.

"Mrs. Rosielle, do we have to talk to Mr. Zayden?" Val asks, quite desperate.

"Yes, we need to have your side to the fight." She replies as she sits down and scoots closer to her desk.

"Val, Glitch, you guys can come on back." Mr. Zayden says as he opens his door for us.

Our meeting didn't last long, Mr. Zayden sent both of us home for today and also tomorrow. As for both Dylan and Jaylen, they will receive suspension for 2 weeks.

Val and I signed out to leave, and then we left to go to Subway. Finally, we get some food!

"Babe, let me drive." Val starts to say. "You're hurt." She reminds, gently extending her hand to my hand.

"I'm fine, I can drive." I protest as I pull my keys out and continue to unlock the car doors.

"No you're not. You're sore, and I know you're in a lot of pain." She insists as she grabs my hand the car keys are in.

Val stops me in my tracks, and made me think for a good second. I study how our hands were fitting, and then I notice her face. Her face was cherry red, and I could tell she's worried for my well being.

"Come here." I sigh as I pull her towards me. I placed her head on my chest, and we enjoyed a quiet hug. "I love you, baby girl. Everything is okay now." I reassure as I placed a kiss upon her head.

"I love you too. I hate seeing you hurt, that's all." She replies as she wrapped her arms around me.

"Do you want to drive?" I ask as I pulled away from the embrace.

"Yeah." She nodded as she glared up at me.

"Okay, baby girl. You can drive." I surrendered the keys to Val and expressed a soft smile.

"Thank you." She smiles as she grabs the keys from my hand.

"Hey," I start to say. "Drive safe." I reminded her before I made a short trek to the passenger side of the car.

"I will." She chuckles "Hey, don't forget about your backpack!" She continues to say as a friendly reminder.

"Oh, thank you!" I reply as I open the door and set my black backpack on the back seat.

Val and I took care of our bags, and we finally take a seat in the car. Val turns on the car, we buckle our seatbelts, and we drive off.
