Even though there were several tents situated in the Ogre Camp, Shrek and Donkey still slept outside.

It didn't help that he never wore a jumper in the first place. The dead of the night was freezing. Donkey lifted his head from the wooden log he used as a pillow, and soon enough, he glanced over his shoulder at Shrek behind him. A low, miserable sigh escaped Donkey's mouth at the sight. His long ears drooped down to either side of his face, and what followed this expression was yet another sigh of misery.

"Camping sucks when that fool steals all the blankets-" Donkey whimpered, "Shrek's supposed to be an ogre. That ugly vest should keep him warm enough; he shouldn't need a whole pile of blankets."

"Shh!" came a large, muscular ogre, "I can't believe I have to tell you this, sweetheart, but SHUT UP! If you wanna stay in this camp, I suggest you close your eyes and sleep like the rest of us."

Donkey gasped and took obvious offense to that remark, "I...wow...gee, thanks. I'm flippin' freezin' over here if you haven't noticed that yet, Cookie."

Cookie just rolled his eyes in contempt.

So, in order to try and keep quiet, Donkey turned around to face Shrek. The ogre had his back facing Donkey, so he couldn't exactly see his face. Reaching in with his snout, Donkey bit onto the rim of one blanket and managed to pull it over his own body.

"Ah, there we are! Finally, I can actually sleep without freezin' to death," challenged Donkey, seconds before he rested his head onto the wooden log again, "I can't believe all these ogres think a frickin' log is comfortable to sleep on. I can already feel some brain damage comin' on."

"Donkey-" grumbled Shrek.

A large green hand grabbed the blanket that covered Donkey's small body and immediately pulled it off him, and now, Shrek added this blanket to his large collection that he had covering him already. Donkey shot up a second time, and this time, he shot a mean glare at the half-asleep ogre. Donkey used his teeth to grab the woolly blanket again, and like before, Donkey removed it from Shrek's collection.

"You've got enough damn blankets, you greedy bastard-" Donkey argued, raising his voice yet again.

"Shh!" Cookie warned Donkey, "I suggest you be quiet otherwise I really will cook you up for breakfast."

"Oh, sorry!"

Settling down, Donkey rested his head onto the log again, and thankfully, he had the blanket hugging his shivering body again. Donkey faced Shrek, watching the mean ogre. He watched him for a little while, even seeing those small ears twitching every now and then. Donkey just grumbled. He used his hooves to keep the blanket with him, despite those tiny toes of his wouldn't be strong enough to keep Shrek from stealing the throw-over again.

Minutes went by.

When Shrek started tossing the blankets from his collection to Donkey's hoard, it hit Donkey a little off guard at first. Shrek was just tossing the blankets to whoever was closest to him, all while the ogre himself appeared to be tossing and turning in his slumber.

"Gee, thanks!" Donkey offered a smile to the sleeping ogre, and thus, he took all the blankets Shrek gave him and created a nice collection with them. Donkey closed his eyes and sighed, "Mmm, toasty!"

But then, Shrek grabbed all those woolly blankets again and pulled them off Donkey.

"SHREK!" Donkey screamed, watching Shrek with all those snuggly blankets once again.

"I'm warning you," Cookie repeated.
