Staring at the humanoid-looking dragon with his reddish-brown skin and great height, I could only say one word, strong. Ryong was a monster in combat, no matter how much strength I squeeze out, the gap is just too large. That's why I come face to face with Ryong's sword stuck to my chest.
Ignoring the pain, I stare into his eyes with a grin as I used every single drop of my strength to make a one-and-final attack. "If I have to die… I'm taking you with me, Ryong." As I say, a large fox manifests behind as it moves forward to attack Ryong.
He doesn't reply as he slashes his still-stuck sword diagonally across my chest and stops my attack.
"I still failed huh." I thought as my vision starts to darken.
"I'm sorry Daewi, I couldn't help more." With that, my vision completely turns dark.
…
Consciousness returns to me as I open my eyes.
"I'm alive?" I thought as I look around my surroundings. I start to panic as my body seems to be sluggish and I can't seem to move.
As I start to panic, I was reminded of how it's bad to panic, and quickly calmed down my emotions.
"Okay, let's assess the situation." As I start trying to think what was happening, I heard a creaking sound as footsteps starts approaching. I look at the source of the sound and find myself looking at a giant
"Is Ilpyo-chan still awake?" The giant said, in what sounded to be a fond and feminine voice.
"Who are you?" I try saying but all I manage to say are babbles.
"Aw, is Ilpyo-chan trying to speak?" She cooes as she surprisingly lifts me.
Wait… babbles? With great effort, I move my hands in front of me and was surprised to see tiny baby hands.
"I'm a baby?" How? I was supposed to be dead. Not only am I not dead, I somehow got turned into a baby.
As I was thinking, the soft voice has a surprisingly soothing sound. With those thoughts sleep claims me.
…
It's been 17 years since my apparent reincarnation.
Reincarnation was real, with I quickly accepted that fact because I experienced weirder things during my past life.
Past life, that's a weird word to say abou0074 my previous life when I can clearly remember it. Wasn't being reincarnated without memories the normal thing? With all said and done, my life right now is surprisingly peaceful. No God's coming to earth looking to enslave the population or a cruel human-turned-God wanting to eradicate the human race to replace it with his version of humans.
The only thing I need to worry about is the slight teasing from the kids in the orphanage because of my nationality.
I've been reincarnated into Japan, specifically Kuoh Town. Out of all the countries, I surprisingly reincarnated in Japan and not Korea. Why, I don't know. Even to this day, I still have no clue on how I got reincarnated.
I also think that the world I reincarnated into is a different world all together. Their martial arts are tamer than the one on my original world.
Right now, I already moved out of the orphanage and working part-time to make money to pay the bills.
As for schooling, I attend a school called Kuoh Academy. I went to Kuoh Academy because of the scholarship I received from my grades. As having a scholarship, I wouldn't have to worry about paying for school and having to work overtime.
Walking towards my school, I start to think about my current life. Life's been quiet, too quiet. I'm not used to something quiet. I'm half-expecting some trouble to jump out at any moment. In my past life, it all started with the God of High School tournament then everything started escalating with Jade Emperor showing up to fighting Gods and a human turned God. I never really sat down and relax with the constant fighting.
With the relaxing environment, I was able to somehow accept my situation. Somehow, meaning I get pangs of pain in my heart when my thoughts start to drift to the friends I left behind.
"How are they doing right now, were they able to win against Mubong?" I thought as I arrive in front of my school.
Shaking the depressing thoughts out of my head, I step inside the school gate as I make way towards my classroom.
Stepping inside my classroom, I see a familiar face.
Beside the window seats a young girl with long blonde hair and green eyes looking outside the window.
"Good morning, Airi-chan." I greet the now name Airi as I seat beside her.
She turns to me and greets me with her ever kind smile "Ah Ilpyo-kun, Good morning!"
Airi Hyoudou, someone whom I grew to care for.
Before meeting her, I was a mess. Yes, my life is peaceful, but the thought of the friends and family I left behind made me feel depress. The thought of never seeing them again pains my heart that I lost meaning in life and I've been going about my life like a robot. I lost all meaning in life, until I met her.
She was the shining beacon of hope in my life, it's kind of cringey I know. But if anyone ever ask me what she is to me, I would proudly say it. Because she was there when I was at my lowest. She has the horrifying ability of worming herself into my heart.
It's been 2 years since I met her.
"Yawn~ How was your weekend Ilpyo-kun? Kaa-san asked me if you would be having dinner with us."
I've met the Hyoudou's, and let me tell you, the Hyoudou's are a large family.
Airi has eleven siblings and eleven moms.
Airi's father was really a player. When I asked her if she is having any issues at home, she said that there's nothing, she wasn't lying. As long as they are happy, I don't really care.
I've met everyone in the Hyoudou household except for her father, which she says was constantly on a business trip and was extremely busy. His wives apparently switch who accompanies him.
Ever since I visited them, I became a regular visitor. It's not that I have a thick face to mooch of them, they always seem to invite me. Even if I tried to refuse, they can be very convincing. I think it's because they found out that I'm an orphan and took pity on me. I'm practically part of their family.
"Sure, what time should I come over?"
"Great! We'll start having our dinner at 7:30." She excitedly says.
Cute.
…
The rest of the days was a blur. School ended and I was preparing to leave the classroom.
Airi and I left the classroom, as we walk, I could see people talking about us especially girls.
"Kyaa~ is that Hyoudou-san and Park-san?"
"Is it true that they are dating?"
"Our school's top beauty and prince together? That's like out of a fairy tale kyaa~"
"Damn pretty boys, always stealing our Goddess'!"
The students at Kuoh strangely seems more gossipy than usual.
And that nickname, everytime I hear that nickname my face fills with shame.
The students made some kind of ranking on who are the most beautiful girls and Airi seems to be at the highest. As there is a ranking for girls, there also seems to be a ranking for boys. They call it Kuoh's princes and apparently, I appear to be at the top.
I don't really mind it, it's just teenagers being teenagers. But the nicknames are so embarrassing!
As we left the gossip filled hallway, we arrive just outside the school gate.
Airi says seriously which only makes her cuter "You have to go to our house Ilpyo-kun! And you're not allowed on refusing." She makes a face that makes it harder on refusing.
"Hai hai~ Airi-chann, you're making it hard for me to refuse with that cute face of yours." I say teasingly
She blushes and quickly says "seeyoulater" and quickly runs off to her house. Her house is just walking distance to the school.
I laugh and head straight to my apartment.
Opening the door of my apartment I start to think, what should I do in the future? Even in my past life, I didn't have career in mind. I only became world president because of my goal on taking down Mubong through legal and non-violent means.
Should I be a barista? But my gut is telling me that the world isn't peaceful as it seems, like the world is hiding something.
I shook the thoughts off and got ready to go to the Hyoudou's, I smile as I think of them, they're good people.
As I was walking, I see a large house that was six stories high. Apparently, the Hyoudou's were filthy rich. Maybe that's also the reason they keep inviting me, they wouldn't notice a dent to their money even if I have to live there.
When I arrive in front of the house, it was strangely quiet. I rang the doorbell and no one answered, I look at the door and noticed that it was open. Looking at the opened door, I had a bad feeling. With a mixture of worry and apprehension I went inside, what I found was a bloodied Ex (Airi's sibling and the sixth eldest among the Hyoudou siblings.) laying on the floor with Asia doing what looks like to be healing him.
I move my eyes away from them and unexpectedly find Airi with an expression of determination, she was fighting a what appears to be a humanoid insect with four limbs, the thing doesn't appear to have eyes or nose. It has five pale eyes and a large protruding head.
Looking at Airi, she was wearing a robe. It looks like Daewi's Robe of the Sage mixed with a priestess outfit, and replace the green with white and gold.
She looks tired, and whatever that thing is, it's trying to kill Airi and her siblings.
The thing looks at me with it's five pale eyes and says "Oh, a human? is this one of yours, dragon spawn?" the thing asks with a curious tone.
Airi's expression that was once filled with determination turned into fear.
She looks at me and shouts with a tremble to her voice "Ilpyo-kun run, I can't explain but you need to run. You're not safe here!"
But that was a mistake, the creature noticing that she was distracted, lunge with a surprising speed preparing to attack her.
"You're distracted dragon spawn!" He roars as he closes in on Airi.
Looking at the creature that was about to hit Airi, I knew that I had to do something.
With a calm expression I used something that I haven't been able to use in a long time.
Ssam-Su Taekkyeon: Bo-Bup
With a familiar feeling, I instantly arrive in front of the creature.
Burying my feet firmly on the ground, I send the force up to my, knee, pelvis, waist, and then to the tip of my foot hitting the large protruding head of the creature.
Ssam-Su Taekkyeon: Dragon Sign Hwechook
Looking at the surprise creature who falls down and instantly gets right back up.
It looks at me and says in a disbelieving "What was that? Human, what are you?"
Looking at the creature with no feat, I grin and say "I'm just your regular old human."
And that is the end of chapter one, this is my first fanfiction and I'm new to writing in general. I hope you enjoyed what I wrote. Criticism is highly appreciated.
