(Sorry if this chapter seems a bit boring. I swear I'll make it more intriguing. Also, this is just practice for writing depressing fanfics and 2nd/3rd person ones. Sorry if things seem forced.)
Allen Walker, Black Order Academy's most mysterious student. Not much is known about him, but there is one thing for certain: the majority didn't like him. But why? He's kind, considerate, polite, talented, helpful, smart, and charming. Well, those mean nothing due to his scarred face, white hair, odd golden eyes, and messed-up arm. Most of the students think he's cursed. They shun him away and some even go as far as to bully him.
You'd think he'd fight back because he's an Alpha, but you'd be mistaken. His personality is his only weakness. Even Omegas can pick on him and win. Allen could never hurt anyone, even if it meant he'd have to suffer. Due to his not acting Alpha-like, people started to assume that he was an Omega, and due to that, he got bullied worse. Omegas were seen as weak and cowardly. That didn't fit him though. He was brave and strong but he had a too kind a heart.
The professors at the Black Order know he's being harassed and so they always seat him by himself or with his two friends, Lavi and Lenalee, to make sure nothing goes on in the middle of class. They even make sure he knows he can stay inside their classes at lunch. The professors love Allen.
So, now here he sat, listening to his professor talk about physics. He jotted down some notes in his notebook and drew some little drawings on the page. The bell rings and the professor dismissed his students. Allen packs his things and walks up to him. "Mr. Mikk, may I talk to you for a sec?" Allen questions. "Yes, boy. What is it?" Mr. Mikk asks. "Is it true that a new student is coming?" Allen asks. Mr. Mikk sighs. He knows why the boy is curious. There are no more free seats other than the one next to him and Mr. Mikk knows all too well about the bullying issue Allen is going through.
"Yes, but don't worry, boy. I'll make sure that nothing happens between you two." Mr. Mikk assures with a kind smile. Allen gives him a worried smile back. "Alright then, thank you. Have a good day, professor!" Allen says and leaves. 'A new student, eh? just my luck.' Allen thinks to himself.
- THE NEXT DAY -
After one beat-down later, Allen makes it to class 3 minutes late. His professors never mark him tardy because he's their favorite and they know why he's late. Allen walks to his seat and sits down slowly so as to not hurt himself even more. "Alright class, we have a new student today!" Ms. Bell announces. Allen is filled with dread. He doesn't want a new bully. "Pssst, hey Al, I heard the new kid was a hot girl. You think I can make my moves?" Lavi asks. Allen softly chuckles. "No way in hell. You're terrible at flirting." Allen replies. Lavi starts whining and calling Allen mean.
Allen knew his friend was just trying to lighten his stress and make him smile, and it worked a bit. That's what Lavi does best.
The door opens and a boy with beautiful long hair steps in. "This is Kanda, and he'll be your new student today!" Ms. Bell announces. She gives Allen a worried glance before returning to what she was doing on her computer. Almost instantly, he heard girls and boys screeching and gushing over the new kid. He's hot, tall, and could have a lot of influence. Allen hated that.
Kanda walked toward Allen and with each step, the more uneasy Allen felt. Finally, Kanda stopped next to him and sat down. 'Great, just my luck.' Allen thought. Kids started to surround his table and gush over Kanda. Kanda looked like a strong Alpha who could easily knock anyone out with one punch. Allen felt like he was going to puke due to how much anxiety he had.
"Alright, back to your seats all of you! The lesson starts now!" Ms. Bell shouts. Kanda's little fan group groaned and walked to their correct spots.
As Ms. Bell's lesson went on, the more Allen felt himself drifting off to sleep. It's not like it mattered if he slept, he already knew the material. Allen successfully went to sleep, but he fell on Kanda. His head rested upon Kanda's shoulder and that annoyed the taller boy. He decided to just let him sleep because he was not bothering him too much.
The bell rings and Allen jolts awake. He rubs his eyes and yawns. "Awwww, you're so cute when you yawn~" Lavi coos. Allen blushes fiercely. "S-Shut up! No, I am not!" Allen silently shouts. Lavi chuckles and ruffles his hair. "I'll see you at lunch. Have fun during Ms. Bell's next lesson." Lavi says. "Alright, you also have fun," Allen says. They smile at each other and Lavi leaves. Allen noticed that Kanda hasn't moved.
Allen musters up the courage to speak to him. "Uh, do you also have Ms. Bell for this next period?" He asks. "Yeah," Kanda replies cooly. "We might have the same schedule since a couple of my teachers said that a 'new student' was coming. May I see yours?" Allen asks. He hopes to make Kanda his friend because Kanda isn't being mean to him... yet.
Kanda sighs and hands Allen his schedule. Allen looks over it and smiles. "It seems we almost have every class together! Instead of art class, I have piano class." Allen informs. Kanda finally looks at the boy and he nearly jolts. He finds the boy attractive. His soft face and shimmering golden eyes make his chest ache a little bit. A light blush dusts itself across his face. "Uh, yeah, cool," Kanda says and takes his schedule back. "Uh, maybe you can help me find the other classes. I got lost on my way here..." he admits.
Allen smiles at him and nods. That smile made Kanda's heart skip several beats. He's more intrigued by the person in front of him. "Your name?" Kanda asks. Allen looks a bit surprised by that. "Allen, Allen Walker," he replies. Kanda will keep an eye on this Allen Walker. This isn't any ordinary boy.
After Kanda follows Allen around like a lost puppy and defends him from bullies for half the day, lunch finally comes. During their time together, they have gotten into a few fights. It wasn't bullying, but more of a rivalry type of fighting. Allen was annoyed by the older boy but didn't want to lose him because he wasn't bad.
"Wanna come sit with me at lunch? My other friends will be there." Allen says. "Why should I go with some beansprout like yourself?" Kanda insults. Allen pouts. "I am not a beansprout! You're just a mountain!" he retorts. Kanda scoffs and smirks. Kanda genuinely found the kid to be interesting. Sure, he was annoying and seemed like a spoiled brat, but the shorter male didn't bother him as most people did.
The two make it to the library and Allen runs up to their usual table. "Hey guys!" he greets. "Sup, little buddy!" Lavi greets. "Hello." Lenalee greets. Allen smiles and sits down. Kanda sits down next to him, feeling awkward. "Lena, this is Kanda! He's our new friend!" Allen introduces. The two friends look at Allen in shock. "My, already making more people smile I see?" Lenalee comments. Allen blushes and scratches the back of his head.
There is one thing Allen noted while being around Kanda for most of the day. That thing being, Kanda is very unsocial. He would scowl, ignore, or scoff when people tried to talk to him. It was very strange. But that made Allen more determined to make Kanda a close friend. Even though he was mean-spirited.
"Ah! You're the one Allen fell asleep on!" Lavi shouts. Allen was dumbfounded. "Huh?" he says in confusion. Lenalee sighs. "Let me guess, he fell asleep on someone again?" Lenalee asks. Lavi nods and she chuckles. "I did!?" Allen asks in confusion. "For a smart person, you're pretty stupid." Lavi comments. Allen blushes. "Stop bullying me guys! God, ya'll are so mean to me..." he says with a pout.
Lavi and Lenalee laugh at the embarrassed boy. "Kanda, I'm sorry for sleeping on you!" Allen apologizes. "It's alright," Kanda reassures. Kanda isn't sure what to fully feel about Allen's friends. To him, they seem kinda weird, but a perfect fit for Allen.
After chatting and eating a bit, Kanda has learned a lot more about the group. Lenalee is the mother of the group, Lavi is annoying, and Allen eats way too much. Like, by a huge margin. He doesn't mind being around them like he did with most people. It weirded him out a bit, but he ignored it. At least he wouldn't be bored all the time.
It was after school, Allen's most hated time. He didn't have Kanda there to protect him because of their elective periods. Kanda was all the way across campus. Allen sighs as he sees the last person leave. He managed to get Kanda's phone number, so maybe he could text him. 'Oh, but I don't want to bother him. He's probably busy. I can't bother Lenalee or Lavi either. They're probably busy as well.' Allen thought. He tells himself that every time. He furrows his brow and packs his things.
What waits outside for him is at least a good hour of torment. Allen sighs as he steps toward the door. He opens it and steps out. "Hey, nerd!" He hears a kid shout. 'Where we go again.' Allen thinks as he hears footsteps come toward him.
Allen limps back home. He might have sprained his ankle. He doesn't know, but all he wants right now is the comfort of home. He unlocks the door to his apartment and enters. "Dad, I'm home!" He shouts. "Ah, welcome home, sweetheart!" Allen's father, Mana, greets him. Allen smiles and feels all his bad emotions wash away.
"Oh, dear! Did those kids beat you up again!?" Mana asks with concern. Allen nods. Mana rushes to his son's aid and picks him up. "Dad, I'm fine!" Allen lies. "Last time you said that we found out you had several broken ribs." Mana states with concern. Allen sighs knowing he can't win.
Mana would have transferred Allen to a different school by now, but they're poor. He can't afford to send his son to a different school and the nearest public school is 5 hours away. Mana sighs in frustration as he can't help his son. All he can do is be there for him.
He places Allen on the couch and Allen strips into his boxers and tank top. Mana gives a disapproving hum as he sees Allen's ankle. He grabs an old and worn-down cast and some gauze. He applies them to Allen's foot. He looks over the rest of Allen's body and wraps some medical tape around some wounds. "You're going to have to stay home for a couple of days," Mana informs. Allen nods.
Allen lays down on the couch and sighs. Mana sits down next to him and places Allen's head in his lap. He plays with Allen's hair while singing a melody. Allen is soothed by this and slowly drifts off to sleep.
