All is Soft Inside

It was a new day, but not for them, not just yet.

Such a powerful magic grew stronger, and Saber could only watch Shirou as he rested in his bed, his chest rising and falling with each passing minute.

Saber clutched her hands at her sides, her eyes shimmered, guilt seeping in her chest.

Shirou, he was too stubborn for his own good. His wounds have healed, but his body and soul needed rest, so much sleep.

"It's not your fault."

Oh, Shirou…

"It's alright, I'll be fine."

Shirou's voice was weak, worn from exhaustion, and rest was enough for him.

"You will, Shirou, I will make sure of it." Saber whispered, just as the tears trickled down her stoic features.

Shirou smiled and he lifted himself up, leaning forward to wrap his arms around Saber.

Saber stilled, but then she moved in, her Master's arms around her form, a comfort she had not felt in quite some time.

This shouldn't matter, should it?

Shirou only rubbed Saber's back in response, humming an affirmed noise.

This moment was enough for now, more than enough.
