This is a short little prologue for a new story. I've wanted to write a Fallout story for a while so I'm gonna give it a shot. I also want to say that I have a p-atreon if you wish to support me and my work. It's under lazytitan12 and is strictly to be used for donations. Thank you for reading, and the next chapter will be out soon.
It was October 23rd,2077, when the world ended. In two hours, the global powers of the Old World lit the planet aflame. When the radioactive debris settled, it settled upon a broken Earth. Decades of tension and the cold war, millennia of evolution and history, gone in two hours. Despite their attempts, humanity lived on, for better or for worse.
Some lived in the wilderness and were spared by distance. The lucky few who were admitted to vaults lived through the bombs in relative peace. These people gathered and began rebuilding, or continued destroying. Two hundred years after the fall of the Old World, humanity was still the same.
The radioactivity had ruined the planet. Animals and people alike were mutated and twisted into abominations. The humans exposed to radiation were transformed into ghouls.
Humanity was known for its resilience, and two hundred years of hell had done nothing to change that. Communities popped up all over America, and possibly the world at large. Those who lived in vaults lived in ignorance. Most inhabitants were forbidden to leave, and those who did were never allowed back.
Rumors of vaults had existed for decades but they were hardly ever found. That was until 2161 when a man left his vault to find a water chip.
He went all throughout California and fought tooth and nail, fought against the odds, to find that chip. What he didn't know when he set out, was that he would be saving more than just his vault. After saving California from an army of super mutants, the Dweller made his way back. When he gave the chip to the Overseer, his thanks for this task? He was kicked out, back to the waste, and back to the struggle.
After this vaults became a legend and a legend. That was until 2277 when a kid from Vault 101 stepped out into the Capital Wasteland in search of his father. He was unprepared for the waste, unprepared for the people, and he was naive. He was charismatic, he was strong, he would change the world, and he was the Lone Wanderer.
