She swam into the dark cave, torch in hand and her trusty saw on her back.
The cave, once an old simple 3 foot tunnel for electricity cables, was now enlarged to fit a transport ship through, the invader not even caring to hide itself, judging by the perfectly smoothed out hole.
30 meters in, the cave turned left.
70 and it went downwards, she could smell them.
100 down and she came upon a chamber, she let go of the lantern and let it settle on the ceiling. Meanwhile, she took out her blade saw and held it in anticipation. The lantern broke open and illuminated the area in a bright white light.
It was a disturbing sight, black and blue tendrils corrupted the walls, the floor below was a living mass of flesh that pulsated, and a neat pile of torn clothing that seemed to have been piled altogether at a corner.
Her grip tightened. The saw's handle creaked.
Retribution will be had.
She clicked her tounge as the thing shriveled, her cuts on it's flesh bubbling over and sealing up. The once constant flow of seaborn blood in the water was cut off, replaced by air bubbles that seemed to have been to be pumped out en masse from the body of the seaborne she just killed. With practiced effort, she kicked off the cave wall to finish what she started, her saw once again responding to her command and buzzing with great ferocity. She cut.
And sliced.
Shredded.
Grinded.
Flesh was flayed and blue blood sprayed to the water.
But the seaborn had already managed to get it's untrimmed self incased in dark hard chitin, from the size of a behemoth to the size of a 3 foot egg.
She can only manage to scratch the thing before her saw protested by producing annoying screeches, the shell making off with a few nicks and scratches. She drew back and waited for a better opportunity.
The egg trembled.
She concentrated.
The egg showed cracks and she took it, her saw whirring again for flesh.
But what came out of the egg was not as lumbering as it's old self. The thin white worm moved with extreme agility as it swiftly and clumsily propeled itself out of her way, slamming itself to the cave wall. Her saw hit the chitin repourposed into multiple 5 inch thick plates that upon contact, blasted her back into the cave wall through some kind of propulsive reaction.
She grinned as she removed her limbs that was embedded from the rock. The fight has truly started.
