15 years before the announcement
Pawniard felt a rush of excitement as he was set down onto the tall-bladed grass of the forest he and Lucy were in. Standing across from them was one of Lucy's friends, a girl with curly blonde hair, who had sent out her own Zigzagoon, a racoon dog-like creature with striped brown and white spiky fur. Beams of sunlight penetrated the trees to illuminate the area while a gentle breeze would occasionally blow through to regulate the temperature. Both parties were quite comfortable and very ecstatic for their first battle. Pawniard had already participated in several Pokemon battles by this point and he was quickly proving to become a menace on the battlefield. Lucy's friend was about to find out that harsh truth.
Lucy inhaled in preparation as she declared the start of the battle, "Let the battle-" Pawniard advanced before Lucy could even finish, the little bladed creature was so full of excitement he couldn't bother with the formalities, he just wanted to battle! Lucy muttered under her breath, "Not again…!" after seeing her partner dash off. Pawniard's headstart caught Lucy's friend by surprise as she scrambled to command her Zigzagoon:
"Zigzagoon, use Sand Attack!" The little critter immediately began to dig into the dirt before flinging entire chunks of loose soil towards Pawniard's eyes to blind him. Lucy cried out in response:
"Cover your eyes and use Metal Claw!" Pawniard shut his eyes and unconsciously focused an internal flow inside of him towards his claws so they could harden into metal. Pawniard had no explanation for it, it was simply something he does, much like breathing. The little creature slashed diagonally with his two claws, knocking the Zigzagoon back a few inches before attempting to follow up with another attack. He cracked his eyes open, but the little bits of dirt stuck in his tear ducts caused him to flinch momentarily.
"Zigzagoon, use Headbutt!" The raccoon bent its knees in preparation before hurling itself forward and slamming head-first into the Pawniard to knock it flat on its back. However, just as the Zigzagoon passed above its opponent mid-headbutt, Pawniard reached out with both of its stubby claws and grabbed ahold of one of Zigzagoon's legs to the best of his ability.
Zigzagoon frantically looked behind itself to see the Pawniard holding on so tightly the Zigzagoon was beginning to lose feeling in its leg. Lucy's face fluctuated between several emotions before calling out, "Pawny, what are you doing?! Let go and use Fury Cutter!" Pawniard tuned Lucy out, he was amazed by the headbutt and wanted to do it as well. Focusing on the singular blade on his forehead, he reeled himself forward and jabbed his own head-blade into the side of the Zigzagoon.
Lucy's friend cried out, "Wait a minute, I didn't know Pawniard could use headbutt too!" Lucy was at a loss for words, her eyes shifting between her partner and back to her friend before admitting:
"I didn't teach him though…" The little girl felt hurt that her own partner, whom she cherished, was beginning to disobey her at such an early stage of his life. This had never happened to her before during any of their previous battles. Perhaps he didn't love her anymore?
The Zigzagoon winced in pain after receiving the unexpected bladed headbutt from Pawniard, but the bladed critter wasn't done. He gave into his instinct and began punching the Zigzagoon with his pincers blindly. The thrill of dominance is what gave him life. He enjoyed being the more powerful lifeform, showing no remorse or care for those weaker than him.
Lucy kept shouting for Pawniard to back off, but he was so entranced in his own moment that he couldn't hear Lucy. The girl began crying, but not without throwing herself into the fray to rip her partner away from the Zigzagoon, now covered in bruises. The Pawniard attempted to resist his trainer's tender embrace but immediately calmed down upon realizing who was holding him.
It was like a switch was turned off and the adorable Pawniard came back to Lucy. The wide-eyed look of amazement and adoration that Pawniard gave Lucy was almost enough to make her forget what just happened. But she can't forget, not that easily. He was seemingly unphased by her tears, probably thinking they were tears of happiness considering those were the only other times he'd seen her cry. Lucy sat Pawniard down in front of her and began caressing his head as she pleaded, "Pawny, you're not supposed to be a bully! You're a good pokemon, not a mean one. I don't want you to do that ever again. I should've never gotten you into battling! If you love me, promise me you won't hurt other pokemon ever again, okay?"
Pawniard's puppy-eyes shrunk back to normal as he solemnly nodded in agreement, hiding his bitterness. He stared intensely into his trainer's eyes as if he wanted to protest, but his love for her overwhelmed his own desires. Despite this, he still had to admit, it was fun…

The day of the announcement
Bisharp snapped out of his nostalgic daze to swiftly glance around to understand his setting. Not much had changed, he was still in that human-infested building filled with rows of Modified, like him, and he was currently standing next to the overweight kid with spiky black hair who was sitting in a chair situated in front of a booth with another employee of Team Tech, a middle-aged man with combed brown hair and a clean face, typing away quickly on his laptop's keyboard. The kid would occasionally turn to look at Bisharp who did not bat an eye towards him.
The man leaned towards his screen to double check all of the information displayed on it, reading out loud, "Okay, so… Daniel Barsony…fifteen… Rudakov b-, wait a minute- nevermind, I got the street right. Alright, so, here's what's going to happen. I will be giving you an I.D. that has all your necessary information on it as well as your assigned partner, Bisharp. Keep this I.D. on you at all times, you'll need it to participate in the gym battles and the league by proxy. Understood?"
Daniel nodded excitedly, making a very cheerful "mhm!" sound. The boy repeatedly repositioned himself from excitement and nervousness, it was his first time calling his own shots without any adult supervision. In all honesty, the boy had no real idea of what he was getting himself into. He hadn't planned this far ahead so he was improvising his "master plan" as each second passed.
"Cool. I will pass the information along, and my guys will print out your card quickly. In the meantime, I'm going to go over your partner's specific modifications so you fully understand what you're dealing with." The man triumphantly pressed the send button before clicking through several other tabs to open up Bisharp's schematics. "So, his blades have been replaced with a synthetic metal that is much more durable and sharper than his original. There is also some added armor and… Oh! So he's got one of those."
"One of what, sir?"
The man cleared his throat before looking towards Bisharp and pointing at the mask, "So, the mask isn't just for looks. Bisharp is also equipped with a speech translator, to put it simply. It converts the sounds he makes into basic human speech we can understand. This is to help with communication between you and your partner. Weird, you'd think this would be standard-issue…"
Daniel looked at Bisharp, eyes shining like stars as he exclaimed, "Whoa! You can talk?! Oooh, say something! Say something!" Bishrap glared at the boy before subtly shifting his view towards the employee who was looking at him with intrigue. Bisharp remained silent, he didn't feel these people were worth his time or effort. The businessman before him is nothing like the scientists he had gotten acquainted with over the last six years. So he had no reason to fear disobedience here.
"You're free to speak, Bisharp, don't be shy." There was still no response besides a quiet and unnoticed scoff from the creature. Another member of Team Tech walked next to her peer and passed along a slim white card with a myriad of text on it. The man responded, "Ah, perfect, your card's all ready, Mister Barsony. Will there be anything else?" while reaching under his desk for an extra Pokeball for the boy to use.
Daniel snatched the card away from the man, gazing at his own photo along with all of his provided information on it. He lifted his head while looking towards the ceiling as he pondered if he had any questions to ask the man. Then a very crucial one came to his mind, "So… what do I do now?"
This made the man chuckle before answering the obvious question, "You go out and fight the gym leaders of course. Though, if you want to be cost-efficient, I would just do a perimeter around the entire island and then come back to Rudakov, you know?"
"Yeah… that- is a good idea. Thank you, sir."
"Good luck out there, kid." the man wished as he finally lent Bisharp's pokeball.

Rudakov was busier than ever with a very constant stream of vehicles going in and out of the town hall. Traffic was packed and stretched on for miles. As a result, many trainers forgoed the taxi ride and resorted to walking around the city to explore it. The buildings in the city were gigantic in size, it felt like there were walls upon walls of buildings blocking the outside world. It would be impossible for Daniel to point which direction his house was in, let alone see the beautiful forests that were along the outskirts of the city. In each direction, everything was made personally by Team Tech. It might as well be called Team Tech Land.
Daniel Barsony also found himself in a predicament he's faced plenty of times before. It was called "being lost". Normally, the boy would follow his parents around without a care in the world, placing complete faith in their judgment but now that he had no one around to direct his movements, he just wandered aimlessly, walking alongside the walls as if he was on the edge of a cliff. Bisharp followed behind, shoulders rolled back stiffly while his arms swayed nonchalantly. His movement was half-robot and half-organic, it was difficult for Daniel to describe every time he turned his head around to make sure his partner was still following him. Maybe he should have put Bisharp in a pokeball if he was going to be this paranoid.
Then, there was finally an opening to a park up ahead, just the break that Daniel needed! The boy sped up his pace and found himself at the entrance of the fenced park. He raced inside as if he was going home, following the trail of the park until he stopped at a clear space filled with benches along the perimeter. Daniel sat on one of the benches, seemingly sinking into it due to fatigue causing his legs to feel like jelly. Bisharp marched next to the bench before crossing his arms and staring blankly into the distance. The boy noticed this and called out to Bisharp, "Hey, Bisharp, you can sit down too, come sit with me!"
Bisharp continued to ignore the boy. He was simply staring into the beauty of the park filled with bright-green trees and trimmed grass. More people were camping about or strolling through the park with their respective human and/or pokemon partners. It's been quite some time since Bisharp had seen a view like this. He wasn't sure whether he appreciated it or not.
Daniel's eyes were fixated on the creature, it had not said a word or barely acknowledged him the entire time. It was as if Bisharp's mind was elsewhere and he was out of the moment. The boy wasn't sure what to say, he's never owned a Pokemon before so he wasn't too sure how he was supposed to handle one, let alone an unresponsive one.
A sudden pain ached Daniel's stomach, causing it to growl intensely from hunger. Daniel groaned from disappointment before scanning the area and spotting an ice cream stand not too far away. Daniel got up out of his seat, exclaiming while pointing towards the ice cream stand, "I can go for some ice cream right now, I'm starving! Uhh, stay here Bisharp, you might be tired, I'll go get us some ice cream!" The boy paced away while occasionally turning his head back around to make sure Bisharp wouldn't go anywhere.
After a few seconds, Bisharp finally exited his trance to look around to make sure no one was near him or looking at him. Once the coast was clear, Bisharp scooted closer to the bench and sat down, arms still crossed. After inhaling sharply, the Bisharp let out a disgruntled sigh. The only thing keeping Bisharp going at this point was his unyielding fury and lust for vengeance. These people, this charade… it's just one big road block in his path for revenge. This kid is nothing more than an unnecessary obstacle in his life. Once the moment is right, he'll dispose of the child and be on his own way soon enough.
After a few minutes, Bisharp smelled something holy approaching, causing him to perk his head up in interest as he watched the kid come back with two cones of ice cream. Daniel extended one of the cones towards Bisharp as he stated, "Here, this one's for you!" Bisharp just stared in awe at the delicacy in front of him, creeping the boy out with a gaze so strong it could probably melt the ice cream if he stared hard enough.

Five years and nine months before the announcement.
Bisharp, covered in bruises and open cuts from the head down, sat against a blood-stained wall of his own making. There was a barely-dim light in the room, producing just enough light where Bisharp could vaguely make out the shape of his own body. The smell of the room was putrid as well, causing Bisharp's stomach to twist into knots several times over and compelling him to vomit… if he had anything to vomit.
The door to the tiny room slid open to blast light into Bisharp's eyes, blinding him momentarily before he shielded his eyes from the harmful neon rays. The uncomfortably familiar sound of bones tapping against the floor in rapid succession caught Bisharp's attention as he mustered the will to look at the entrance, only to be met with a gigantic tree-shaped shadow with a singular glowing red dot staring back at him.
"A week of no food or water, I must commend you, you certainly have lasted longer than most."
Bisharp scowled at Trevenant with contempt, not saying a word, not that he could with his dried-out throat. Trevanant made a prideful "hmph" sound as he dominantly mocked, "It seems you've finally learned your place. Good, very good. Fret not, canvas, I'm not here for our usual fun today. I've brought you a snack instead." Trevanant tossed forward a live Rattata, a purple rat Pokemon, towards Bisharp. The bladed pokemon's expression softened slightly as he lifted his head, bewildered by the statement. "Why the long face? I've brought forth a nutritious meal just for you. You must learn to survive with what you're given. In order to survive, however, you must cross your own moral line. Mercy will not feed you. Only your strength will help you live. Now eat."
Bisharp's head lowered to face the fearful Rattata that was petrified by the two entities surrounding him. It might not be intelligent, but it was aware enough to understand what was about to happen. Its pleading eyes contrasted with Bisharp's sunken ones. Without thinking, Bisharp reached his hand out towards the Rattata, mouth watering slightly.

Bisharp seized the ice cream cone, holding it delicately before gently tightening his grip to assess its durability. It was so fragile, it was the lightest thing he's ever held in the last six year. Daniel sat down, looking at Bisharp whose arm was still extended and holding the ice cream cone carefully. The boy shrugged his shoulders and began eating the ice cream, quietly watching the pedestrians pass through the park alongside Bisharp who had finally retracted his arm and brought the ice cream close but did not eat it.
Daniel broke the silence between the two as he stated, "You know, I never got to hang out with anyone. I always saw the other kids playing with each other, and, sure, I got to join in but my parents would always be watching over me like a Spearow. I mean, they're not even my parents, can you believe it? So, every time I was with someone, I had to be mindful of what I said to them, I didn't feel like I had any privacy. So, I usually spend my days cooped up in my room, watching the outside world through the lens of a computer screen."
Bisharp turned his head to the side ever so slightly so he could see the boy out of his peripheral vision. Daniel noticed the subtle head turn but chose not to comment on it. He decided to continue on his rant, "I'm scared right now. This is the first time I've been on my own. If I go home, I know I'll get grounded and we'll be separated. My family doesn't like having Pokemon in the house so I wouldn't get to see you again. I can't let that happen because we're partners and that means we have to stick by each other until the end because we're friends, right?"
Bisharp stopped paying attention after that, insulted by the last statement. Why does this kid think they're friends? They just met almost two hours ago. On the other hand, sending the kid home so they can be separated does sound like a plan. The only problem would be what would happen to him once he gets separated from the boy.
Daniel sighed as he apologized, "Sorry, I know I'm just complaining. It's just that- I've never had anyone to talk to about my problems before. No one would ever listen to me, so to have someone who can just listen to me is refreshing. This is probably boring for you, isn't it?" There was only silence following that statement. Daniel took the hint to move on before continuing, "Sorry, I'll change the subject. Umm, how about we do some Pokemon battling, how does that sound?" No response yet again, discouraging. Daniel frowned before getting up from his seat and looking around for any signs, he was still too afraid to ask another person for directions. As the boy walked away momentarily, Bisharp looked at his slowly melting ice cream cone. He could feel his mouth watering from the inside. He decided to swallow his pride at the moment and quickly removed his mask to devour his ice cream cone in several large bites before shoving his mask back on so no one could see. Bisharp had never had food that cold in a very long time. Consequently, he wasn't prepared for the excruciating headache that followed suit. It felt like his entire brain seized in that moment and continued to press against his skull. It wasn't the worst pain he's experienced, but it certainly wasn't pleasant.
Despite the following pain, he cherished the taste of the delicacy. It was easily the sweetest thing he's had in a very long time. He'll have to get some more later on his own time after he finds a way to get rid of the kid. Soon enough, the kid returned as he explained, "There's an arena pretty close by, let's go check it out!"
.
.
.
.
.
Inside of the rectangular arena surrounded by a mob of spectators was a Cinderace, a bipedal white and red rabbit Pokemon, and a Meganium, a quadrupedal pale-green reptilian with large pink flower petals around its neck, battling until one was left standing. The Meganium was already injured while the Cinderace was left untouched. The owner of the Meganium, a boy slightly younger than Daniel and wearing a cap and a hoodie, commanded his partner, "Meganium, use Body Slam!" The six-foot creature charged forward, throwing its entire body weight at the tiny rabbit. With only a small window to dodge, the Cinderace's owner, an older teen that could be mistaken for an adult, commands:
"Cinderace, dodge it by using Bounce!" The Cinderace propelled itself above the Meganium which slammed into the empty air where the rabbit used to be. Just as the Cinderace prepared to land on the back of the lizard, the creature kicked both of its legs into the backside of the Meganium, causing it to buckle underneath the strength of the attack.
"Meganium, shake it off while using Synthesis!" The Meganium quickly regained its composure and began profusely wiggling its body to shake off the persistent Cinderace who eventually yielded, springing off the lizard's back to land behind its opponent. During this, the Meganium was slowly recovering its energy and treating its injuries with the power of the sun. "Alright, now use Poison Powder!" The Meganium whipped its body around to blast a massive cloud of purple powder from its mouth towards the Cinderace.
The Cinderace's trainer made a "tch" sound before declaring, "Fine, if that's how you're gonna be. Cinderace, wrap this up with a Pyro Ball!" The Cinderace materialized a ball of fire from above its foot, kicking it up to enlarge it before arching its leg backwards to strike the ball at full force. This caused the sphere to grow in size considerably, blowing through the powdery smoke and dissipating it before striking the Meganium head-on and generating a small explosion that obscured the target, a weak shockwave then blasted against the crowd. The smoke blew away quickly to reveal a burnt and unconscious Meganium lying on the arena floor.
The referee standing along the side of the arena raised his hand up in declaration as he announced, "Meganium is defeated and Cinderace is the winner! This marks Cinderace's fifth consecutive win today." The crowd began clapping with a few cheers mixed in. The trainer of the Cinderace, a young man with a stubby red beard and puffy hair bowed, making sure to bump fists with his Cinderace once it approached. Two other boys around the same age approached and patted their friend on the back, commending him for his good work. One of them was a man with spiked up blue hair, somewhat resembling a mohawk, and wearing plain clothing. The other had long and curly green hair with a partially-shaved mustache. His attire was ordinary and not flamboyant.
The Cinderace trainer raised his voice, "Alright, alright, I got to head out soon but I'm willing to do one more match. Who's down to rumble?" There were a few people clamoring for attention, all raising their hands above everyone else.
Daniel stood among the crowd with everyone else, keeping to himself as much as possible as he felt exactly like he did when he was at the town hall. The boy felt discouraged by the number of raised hands and was afraid he'd be drowned out if he tried raising his own hand in response, Bisharp had other plans. The bladed creature began shoving people aside, forcing his way through the crowd to abruptly step into the arena without any warning. People in the crowd began cursing out the Bisharp as they cried out, "Bullshit!"
"It's fine, I've been waiting to fight one of those new Modified! Where's your trainer uh… I think you're a Bisharp." The man turned towards his two friends while pointing his finger at the bladed pokemon, "That is a Bisharp, right? It's hard to tell." The other two boys shrugged their shoulders, also baffled by the shocking appearance of the Modified Bisharp.
Bisharp exhaled before finally looking at Daniel and gesturing for the boy to step into the ring. The full eye-contact caught Daniel off-guard, causing him to fluster not because of Bisharp looking at him, but because he now had the full attention of the crowd. He shyly stepped towards the opposite side of the arena, cheeks flared to such a high intensity to the point he started to sweat. Daniel stuttered, mustering the will to speak, "H-h-hi..! I-I'm Daniel… and t-this is my f-first Pokemon battle…"
The Cinderace trainer chuckled before stating, "Well, I'd hate to give you a bad first impression but you came to the wrong arena to get your feet wet in Pokemon battling. We'll try to let you have fun but don't think I'll hand you the victory." Daniel was unsure of what to say, biting his lip as the embarrassment began to sink in.
Bisharp stood still like a statue, maintaining eye contact with the Cinderace which was slightly unnerved by the glowing red eyes Bisharp possessed. The referee looked back and forth between the two trainers, taking a deep breath as he put on his announcer-voice and shouted, "Alright, let the battle between Cinderace and Bisharp begi-" The announcer was cut off by Bisharp taking a headstart and rushing towards the Cinderace in a mad sprint. Shocking the crowd and both trainers.
The Cinderace trainer stumbled back a step out of shock as he blindly called out, "What the hell?! Cinderace, use Pyro Ball and smoke that thing!" The rabbit materialized the fireball from its feet, kicking it multiple times in rapid succession before smashing it forward with a powerful kick.
"In a real fight, there is no fairplay. Once you see an opening, seize it, then exploit it. Use whatever means necessary to succeed in battle." Trevanant's words echoed through Bisharp's mind as he charged towards the large ball of fire before leaping into the air above the attack. The crowd watched with mouths slightly agape in awe as the Bisharp twirled into a ferocious spin kick that slammed the Cinderace into the ground. Once Bisharp was on his feet, he knelt down next to the rabbit before grabbing the back of the creature's head and raising it. There was a foot-shaped imprint along the side of the creature's cheek causing immediate swelling and bruising. Without any hesitation, Bisharp proceeded to slam Cinderace's head back into the ground at full force. The crowd twitched out of pain in response.
Bisharp yanked Cinderace's head back out before shoving it back into the ground repeatedly, causing blood to increasingly stain the ground with each painful slam. Many people in the crowd covered their mouths in horror, Daniel's eyes widening from shock as his stomach churned at the sight. The Referee and Cinderace's trainer ran towards the two pokemon, barking at the Modified pokemon to back off. Bisharp stood up while holding the Cinderace up in front of him before the two men got to him. The rabbit's face was a bloody and sliced mess with one of its front two teeth missing. Bisharp retracted its arm, contemplating as more of Trevanant's words rang in his ears: "...always remember: no witnesses."
The Cinderace's trainer was tugging at his partner, trying to yank it away from the Bisharp's tight grip while the referee tried to pull Bisharp back. The bladed creature's eyes looked at the two humans interfering with his display of dominance before shifting his attention to the large crowd around him.
No, it wasn't worth the effort. Bisharp threw the Cinderace back at its own trainer and shook off the referee's grip. The Referee pulled up a phone and began calling for a nearby Nurse Joy to take care of the injured Cinderace. The crowd began booing Bisharp, raising their thumbs down and/or middle fingers up in response to Bisharp's brutality.
Daniel wanted to just hide and pretend this never happened. The Cinderace trainer's two friends stormed across the arena towards Daniel while raising their voices, "What the hell?! I thought you said this was your first battle! Don't you have any fucking restraint or human decency?!"
Daniel's lips trembled from being cornered by the two men, his legs shaking from fear as he attempted to speak, "I- uh-"
"Don't act like you don't know any better, you better get your Pokemon on a fucking leash or we'll have to teach you a lesson!"
Emerging from the crowd was the man who gave Daniel a free taxi ride earlier, now with his sunglasses resting on his forehead to reveal his bright brown eyes, forcing his way into the conflict as he shoved the two young men aside and demanded, "Okay, children, settle down. Cut the kid some slack."
The two young men made sour expressions after being called children. The Cinderace trainer stormed over next to his two friends as he chimed in, "Cut him some slack?! That fucking freak just brutalized my Cinderace!" Referring to the Bisharp.
The young man with the green hair barked, "And who are you calling children? We're all almost or over eighteen!"
The friendly man who helped Daniel gave them a perplexed look as he explained, "For the record, I have a two-year-old daughter back home who's more well-behaved than the three of you put together. I understand that you're furious with what just happened. I wasn't comfortable watching it either but that doesn't give you any right to start ganging up on a kid and bullying him. This is his first battle and those Modified Pokemon are brand new so only Arceus knows what they're juiced up with. Your Cinderace will be fine, nothing that Nurse Joy can't handle."
The Cinderace trainer retorted, "That's not the only thing! He humiliated me in front of a crowd!"
"And you aren't humiliating yourself right now? Look, kid, did you just forget you won five battles in a row prior to this? If you want to maintain the crowd's respect, then swallow your pride, show some humility, and take the fucking L." The three boys backed off with bitter expressions plastered on their faces. They stood in silence, contemplating what to say or do before eventually accepting defeat and turning around to retrieve their comrade. Not before the Cinderace trainer glared at Daniel and mouthed the words:
"We're not done, yet."
Daniel, ofcourse, had absolutely no clue what the man just did with his lips and ignored it like how he's trying to ignore the rapidly shrinking crowd. Daniel looked down at the ground, nearly at the verge of tears from how embarrassed and shameful he felt until the man placed a comforting hand on the boy's shoulder and asked, "Are you okay?"
Daniel sniffled while wiping away the tears that almost rolled down his cheeks, answering, "No, not really… But thank you for your help Mister-?"
"It's Nicholas, and no problem. I was looking around for you at the convention, but it seems like you already took off."
"You were looking for me?"
"Shit, that probably sounds weird out of context. Sorry, it's just a parental habit of mine to make sure you were okay. It probably means I miss my little sweetheart back home." The statement made Daniel smile slightly as he remembered his own foster family, but the smile quickly faded. Nicholas noticed the expression and decided to shift gears as he suggested, "You should probably put your Bisharp back in his ball, it seems like he'll need to learn a bit more self control, don't you think?"
Daniel reached in his pocket for the pokeball, holding it firmly as he slowly approached Bisharp who seemed out of it like usual. The boy slowly raised the pokeball towards Bisharp as he pleaded, "Uhh, Bisharp, can you please go into the Pokeball?" The Pokemon turned his head to look at the sphere before locking eyes with Daniel intimidatingly. The stare alone was scary enough to keep Daniel from saying anything else, let alone moving.
Nicholas strolled next to Daniel, explaining, "You gotta press the front tip, there, against him. That'll trigger the capture mechanism of the Pokeball. Like this." Nicholas took Daniel's hand and gently eased it forward. However, Bisharp quickly swatted their arms aside. Nicholas' instincts took over in that moment as he snatched the Pokeball that was flung from the boy's hands right as Bisharp attempted to throw a ferocious right hook towards the man. Nicholas managed to press the capsule against the bladed creature, coating him in a bright red light as he was materialized into pure energy and absorbed by the Pokeball. The creature's fist was mere centimeters from making contact when he got captured. Nicholas let out a sigh of relief as he admitted, "phew, that was scary. Now, how about we grab a bite to eat?"
