100 Years Later

Las Angeles California

Sam leaned back on the couch glancing out at the stars before him through the large bay windows of his home. Who would have thought he would be around to witness the first ever hover board being sold.

Sam couldn't help but remember Santa Carla. It had been a long time since he had seen that city.

The family had no choice but to break up and go separate ways. There was too many of them for that community and when the FBI showed up to investigate it was time to go.

It was a sad fact that he and his blood family never were able to get along. They disagreed about a lot of things, but the main issues centered on how to feed.

Max, Lucy, Michael, and Star had become, in their words, civilized vampires. They drank from blood bags. They got up and dressed for work at the new Coffee house that Max had bought. They attended town meetings. They played as if they were human.

It made Sam sick.

He wasn't human. He hadn't been human for 100 years.

When the breakup happened, he made his choice to go with David and the others. He didn't want to give up her. The angel that led him to this life, Maya.

Sam couldn't help but smile when her name appeared in his mind. She was everything to him.

They still had their fights. They were stuck as teenagers but the love they shared went past simple teen love.

Maya had been there when he had gotten his first tattoo.

FLASHBACK

Sam was clutching Maya's hand as the needle flew over his skin.

"You got this baby. It's almost done." Maya stated.

The tattoo artist snickered as he watched the two teens. He usually didn't do this for kids under 18 but the boy's dad said it was ok.

Maya snickered as she glanced at the tattoo artist. A little help from Paul and the guy was willing to tattoo Sam. Paul got teased by the others for that.

The artist turned off the machine and wiped down the new ink. "All done. Want to look?"

Sam nodded his head. He stood in front of the mirror and smiled. The tattoo was complete. A phenix coming from ash and transforming into a fiery bird of prey. Underneath was the date of when he turned fully.

Maya wrapped her arms around Sam's arm. "It looks amazing."

Sam smiled. It had been the start of a new life for him, and he was grabbing it with both hands.

END FLASHBACK

When David taught him how to drive a motorcycle and he learned the hard way how to glamor humans if he got stopped by the police or some busy body goody two shoes person.

When he told his mother, he was leaving to live with the boys. He couldn't understand why she was upset. She had to know this was coming. Max had come to realize that Sam would never be the silent obedient child like Michael had become.

FLASHBACK

The clan was all piled into Max's house. With 11 vampires in one town, the death rate had tripled. Tourist were finally starting to realize it was dangerous to be close to Santa Carla and were staying away from the area including the towns around it. Mayors from the surrounding towns were putting pressure on Santa Carla mayor to figure out what was going on so tourism could go up.

"I know how much we all love this town, but I feel it's best we move on. It's getting harder to keep our activities hidden. Lucy and I have decided to take her children and Star to Alaska for the next couple of years. There are plenty of people up there that we can survive there. The rest of you should move to a different location for a couple of years. I trust you will remember the rules and I will not need to guide you?" Max said looking at David.

David smirked. "Don't worry about us Max. We will be fine, but have you asked Sam what he wants to do? YOU are separating him from his mate."

Sam snorted. "No, he is not. I'm going with David and the others."

Lucy whimpered. "Sam we are your family. You should be with us."

Sam rolled his eyes. "Mom, quit the dramatics already. We all know that you don't approve of the way we feed and the only reason you want me there is to try and convince me to feed your way. I like my life the way it is. I refuse to give it up because you don't like it."

Lucy stood up in anger. "I am your mother, and you will do what you are told."

Sam snarled and his eyes flashed. "You may be my mother and I may be stuck in a 16-year-old body, but I am not a child anymore. I have been an adult for the last 7 years. I am a grown man who can decide for myself. I am going with the others."

Max sighed "Lucy"

Lucy turned and stared at Max before sighing. She turned to her youngest son. "You will visit eventually, right?"

Sam stepped forward and hugged his mom. "Yeah mom. WE will visit you eventually." Sam mouthed thank you to Max over her shoulder.

Max nodded his head. He really had no choice but to allow Sam to do as he pleased.

Sam had David's blood running through his veins. Sam needed to be free. Free to peruse whatever his heart desired. Those who got in his way would suffer the consequences. Max had no desire to see what those consequences would be.

END FLASHBACK

"Sam?"

Sam glanced up to see the girl he had loved.

She had changed too.

Maya cut her hair and dyed it with blue streaks in it. She traded the dresses for skinny jeans and jean skirts and lace blouses.

Sam reached forward and pulled her over to him. He leaned forward and gave her a kiss on the mouth.

He loved her more than life itself.

He pushed memories into her mind of the things they had seen or done.

FLASHBACK

Sam and Maya standing on the very top of the Eiffel tower. Sam turned Maya toward him.

"Maya. I've loved you from day one. I know that we will be stuck like this forever but" Sam lowered down onto one knee "Will you marry me?"

Maya gasping and nodding her head "yes. Yes, I'll marry you"

6 months later

Sam stood on the beach with Laddie standing beside him.

The whole family had gathered to witness Max marry the two teen vampires.

Sam's mouth dropped as he watched David lead Maya down the beach to him and the others.

She was beautiful in her pale pink wedding dress.

Sam took her hand swearing in his heart that he would love her forever.

Max cleared his throat

"Dearly beloved we gather here today to witness the marriage of these two. You each have written original vows. Sam why don't you go first"

Sam swallowed "Maya, I have loved you since the first time you looked up at me when we met in Frog's comics. You make me into a stronger man and vampire. You are my Louis Lane. My Robin. I would give up the world for you and could never survive this world without you. I want to be with you when I wake up every morning to your crazy hair days all the way to the times when you go on chocolate mania eating every bar of chocolate in the home begging for more. I give you my heart and love for all eternity until death comes."

Lucy started sobbing into Michael's shoulder. Her baby had grown up.

Max smirked while the Lost Boys laughed at his words.

Max turned to glance at his daughter "Maya"

"Sam, I have loved you since the first time you had ice cream with us after the frog brother's incident. You had chocolate ice cream all over but couldn't care less about what anyone thought about you. I want to be the Robin to your Batman. The Louis Lane to your Superman. I would fly all the way to Krypton and back to show you my love. I want to be with you even if it means having millions of comics everywhere on the floor or eating your burnt macaroni and cheese for all eternity. I give you my heart and love for all eternity until death comes."

Max smiled.

"Is there anyone who would not support this marriage…no good? Then I announce you Man and Wife. You may kiss your bride."

Sam grabbed Maya and kissed her hard on the lips. He could hear the cheers and catcalls of The Lost Boys in the background.

When they finally stopped kissing, David moved forward with an envelope.

"We got you a gift. Most likely you won't want to be around us for a while so here."

Sam opened the envelope to see a deed to a house and keys.

He jerked up to look at David

"What is this?" Sam said.

David smiled. "A house in the backwoods about an hour away from Los Angeles. It will give you privacy to enjoy married life but close enough for us to come if you're in trouble. We already made a safe sleeping place under the house with a tunnel leading away if you need to escape."

Sam and Maya smiled. They hugged David and the others.

Sam grabbed Maya's hand before they took to flight and left the lost boys and his blood family behind. It was time for him to live as an adult with his wife.

Together forever.

END FLASHBACK

Maya smiled and moved her head away. "I almost miss them. Don't you?"

Sam smiled "yeah, I do. David and the others are thinking about going to Europe for a while. They invited us to go along."

Maya smiled. "Max is getting to him again, isn't he?"

Sam smirked "yeah. He has it in his mind that the boys need to settle down with girls. That it might get them to calm down."

The two stared at each other before bursting into laughter. Sam wiped a tear away from his cheek. "Like that would happen"

Maya nodded her head "it will be fun. When will they be here?"

VOOOM VOOOM VOOOM

5 bright motorcycle lights flared up right in their faces. Catcalls and hoots could be heard.

SAM….MAYA…..COME OUT TO PLAY

Maya and Sam smiled. The lost boys had come, and it was time to enjoy being young teens again.
