This is my FIRST fanfic so spare me please. Comment ,favourite and follow!(Criticism is fine)
A/N: Firstly, 'means that the character is having a thought while "means that they are speaking. Secondly, I think that the characters in here may be a little OOC, I'm sorry if they are, because I try to make them as relatable to my own life as possible so that it's easier to write. Next, I literally have no idea about middle school so sorry if I typed out any incorrect information. Also this is an AU where Percy and Annabeth are humans.
Sorry for a long A/N I know you guys hate this type of stuff, but bear with me.
Chapter 1:
~Annabeth's POV~
Pushing my spectacles up the bridge of my nose, I hurried into my homeroom before the bell signalled the start of the class. "Annabeth, have you heard? A new student has been transferred to our school this year and rumour has it that he is the son of a multi-millionaire!" Thalia, Annabeth's one and only best friend said in a hushed whisper.
I rolled my eyes at my friend's ability to be able to gossip and know about such happenings, however, I myself was a little curious of the newcomer. In Goode Middle School, at 6th grade most students had already known each other since 6 years old, so it was quite surprising to have a new student being transferred there.
"Class, please welcome Perseus Jackson." Mr Fowler [A/N 1] announced. Annabeth glanced at Perseus and in one look; she could tell that he was obviously a troublemaker. Annabeth could also not help but notice how his jet-black hair was all messed up and that his sea-green eyes looked really fitting on him but that part could be due to her ADHD which Thalia also had.
"Perseus could you please tell us a little bit more about yourself?" Mr Fowler urged. "Hi, my name is Perseus but you can call me Percy [A/N 2]. My hobby is swimming and my favourite colour is blue." Percy said. "You can go sit on the empty sit next to Annabeth in the back row; she's the girl with the blonde hair." Mr Fowler instructed.
~Percy's POV~
I cautiously shuffled to the back row as if predicting that someone would suddenly stick out his/her leg and make me fall to the ground and humiliate myself when making a first impression.
I remembered my promise to my mother to try not to get kicked out of this school as even though money was not a problem with finding new schools, I did not want to go to a private school where there are most likely more show-offs with their private jets and mansions. I was not like them and did not care much about living wealthily and instead wanted a simple life so in the end, after much debating with my father, he finally agreed to let me go to private school like any normal 6th grader.
Anyway, back to the "tripping" part, I tend to have a rough background with school bullies that tend to pick on nerds who can help them with their homework, as I cannot stand them bulling others when others have done no harm to them.
So how do I solve these problems? Simple, I would get into a fight with the bullies and stand up for the people they pick on. Over the years, I sort of learned that it was not the wisest option but what could I do? Not many teachers would believe a "troublemaker" so I could not have stood there like a passer-by, so I did what my gut told me to do and that made me transfer to different schools over the years.
This time however, I have decided, and with a warning from my father, that I could not bear to get kicked out of Goode Middle School because if I do, my father will be sending me to a private school, the one that I dread the most.
Anyway, enough about me. I walked towards the blonde, Annabeth, and was a little awestruck when our eyes met. I felt this special connection between us but before I could ask Annabeth if she felt it too, she broke the awkward silence by saying, "Percy, you're drooling." She snickered at me. So much for giving a not humiliating good first impression.
"Annabeth, you can show Percy around the school and introduce him to other students." Annabeth nodded. I sat down on the seat, not exactly eager to be back in school as I partially blame that on my dyslexia and ADHD so most of the time, I cannot concentrate on whatever the teachers were saying during lessons.
"I would like to see Perseus Jackson at the Principal's office now." The principal, Mrs Amber said over the P.A system. I stood up and asked Annabeth for instructions on how to go to the principal's office, just to cover up my previous embarrassment.
~Annabeth's POV~
"Come on, I'll show you." I replied, trying hard to control my laughter. I was known to be a "Child of Athena" [A/N 3] in this class as I was the smartest and always scored the top in every test (not to brag); and obviously, I could tell that Percy was just trying to avoid being teased more for drooling but I chose to keep my mouth shut.
[A/N 1] : "Fowler" ,to all the RC9GN fans out there 😊 you guys know what I'm talking about
[A/N 2] : Ugh, finally, I was kind of tired of typing "Perseus" all the time when you guys all know "Percy" is always the preferred name
[A/N 3] : Annabeth! You are a child of Athena! Srly I want to scream that at her but she's fictional
Sorry guys if this chapter was kinda boring, I am considering if I should continue this or not so if you think I should, favourite and comment!
Btw, people feel free to give me some more ideas because I have an author's block and it is necessary for me to give Percy and Annabeth some things to argue about because then it will not be the Percy and Annabeth we know.
I think that I would be able to upload once every 2 weeks, sorry if that is a long time to wait. However, if I am not continuing with writing this fanfic than it will be on a hiatus .
