Lucas sat casually in the chair in front of the Mayor's large desk and smirked at the man's delusion of authority. Adam had not been his choice for this position, the man had fluked his way into a high ranking role due to Gail's inability to allow Lucas to control his Town unchallenged; however, Adam was harmless, despite how much power he believed he had.

Thinking back to the Mayoral election, Lucas had presumed that Gail had wanted to put an obstacle in his way with Adam. She had gone against everything that Lucas had ordered at the time and made a point of pulling him into a game to determine who deserved the position, which was unnecessary considering he knew what was best for Trinity.

He had been disappointed with his townspeople more so for their lack of faith in his choice, rather than his candidate losing the election; however, Adam had proven himself to be worthy of this role and even though he would never admit it to his Wife, having someone with the confidence Adam projected in this position gave his townspeople the false perception that Trinity was governed as a democracy rather than just by his will. It was important for people to believe in free will and Lucas enjoyed watching Adam pretend that he had some control.

'I wanted to talk about the annual Halloween party-' Adam started, pretending to look important while busying himself with a report on his desk.

'The one your jezebel is insistin' on throwin'?' Lucas interrupted sarcastically, smiling smugly at Adam's sharp intake of breath as the man's full attention fell on him. 'How's your Wife Janet by the way? You know, the Mother of your three children who chooses not to question your blatant infidelity' Lucas asked casually, enjoying reminding this man of how small he was no matter how he liked to feign importance.

Adam stared at Lucas venomously, then straightened his tie and forced a smile. 'My marriage to Janet is over Sheriff-' he started in his defence.

'Not in the eyes of the Church Mayor, that union is until death do you part and no matter how much you try to sugar coat what you're doin', Mary would look like just another home wrecker should news of your affair get out' Lucas interrupted, then stood up and began reviewing the law degree framed on the wall.

Adam inhaled deeply in an attempt to control his anger, then stood up and approached Lucas. He had not intended this meeting to take such a turn like this, he had in fact been trying to be more accepting of this man's authority of late; however, it was hard to shake his distrust. 'So you don't want me to take control of the party this year? I thought you'd be happy to have things go back to normal finally, considering it was always the previous Mayor's duty to be in charge of this spectacle'

Lucas let out a small laugh and shook his head. 'John didn't have an organisational bone in his body, his only contribution to that spectacle as you call it was to belittle women by keeping them separate from the men. Mary allowed that to happen without posin' any challenge, is this what you're aimin' for?' he asked amused.

'You allowed that too Sheriff, all the while knowing the forceful power John had over her' Adam spat out, unable to hide his disgust of how long Mary's situation was allowed to continue.

Lucas sensed Adam's judgement of him and turned towards the man, staring at him intensely. 'You'd have me arrest a man without proper cause Mayor? Bein' a Lawyer for so many years, I thought you'd know the importance actual evidence. Without a crime bein' reported, any action from myself would be deemed as inappropriate wouldn't you say?' he asked, not appreciating the unspoken accusation against his character and it was taking all of his efforts to not lash out at the blatant disrespect towards him.

Adam had not thought this attack through, he had just presumed that Mary would have reported the abuse she had to endure at the hand of her now deceased Husband and judging by the look on the Sheriff's face, his miscalculation was going to cost him.

'See Princess, this is why us girls don't go around presuming. We hold out judgement until we see the actual facts, to prevent any unnecessary hostility' Gail advised her Daughter, as she leaned against the open office door casually. She had sensed her Husbands rage begin to stir as she was passing and decided to check in on him, before he made any rash decision without thinking things through.

'Uh-Gail, what a pleasant surprise' Adam stuttered, not taking his eyes off of the Sheriff who had began to stalk him slowly around the room.

Gail sensed Lucas' twin just beneath his surface and rolled her eyes in exasperation at him being so riled up by a such stupid remark from Adam. Gail placed her Daughter down on the floor, then moved in front of her Husband and placed her hands on his cheeks to force him to acknowledge her. 'Husband' she said pleasantly.

'Wife' Lucas responded through gritted teeth, feeling his rage begin to subside as he looked into her eyes and placed a soft kiss on her lips.

Gail smiled at his smart move to focus on her rather than cause an incident, and tangled her hands in his hair to pull him more forcefully to her for a passionately kiss.

Adam stood uncomfortably as he watched the exchange, then took a step back when Gail pulled free of the embrace and turned towards him.

'In answer to your actual reason for dragging my Husband here, what he initially meant to say was your house is far too small to host the Halloween party. This time of year has outgrown the old tradition and is now seen as a celebration for our handsome Sheriff...we can't expect all of his friends to squeeze into your little 3 bedroom place, especially with Janet's moodiness of late' Gail advised forcing a sweet tone, knowing Adam was only doing this for Mary and did not really want to attention to be on his home life at this current time.

Lucas placed his hands on Gail's hips and pulled her gently back into his chest. 'I was hopin' for a quiet affair this y-' he started, then felt Gail's fingers on his lips as she reached up to silence him.

'Mary really wanted to be involved...she's gettin' somewhat frustrated with her stature of late, considerin' she was the most popular woman in Trinity when her Husband was alive' Adam sighed, only wanting to make the woman he loved happy and becoming annoyed at his own commitments which were playing a part in her unhappiness.

Lucas could not control his laughter and glanced at Gail confused when she shot him a look of warning, as though he was expected to be sensitive.

'Grandaddy's place!' Gail Jr suggested in excitement from her position on top of the Mayor's desk, climbing up when the adults attention was not on her.

Gail's eyes grew wide for a moment, then she forced herself to remain cool. 'Yeah right, hosting it at my Grandfathers old property on Elm Street isn't at bad omen at all. Knowing my luck Freddie Krueger will dive out of a bed and give the Emory side of the family an even more gruesome reputation' she laughed sarcastically, then shot her Daughter a look of warning to keep out of things that did not concern her. 'No, we'll figure something out. Even if we just host it in our garden, Mary will have plenty of room to play with'

Lucas could not believe that Gail had offered up their home easily and looked from Gail to Gail Jr suspiciously, then started to bore into his Daughters mind to determine what they were up to.

'That's amazin', are you sure?' Adam asked relieved.

Gail sensed Lucas' attention shift solely to their Daughter and reached down instinctively to discreetly cup his crotch teasingly. 'Of course I'm sure, I'm happy to help...Why don't you take my Daughter and Mary down to the canteen to break the news to her over some cake, her favourite is on the menu today I believe' she suggested, feeling her Husbands manhood instantly become hard due to her touch and remained in front of him, so not to alert Adam.

Adam smiled happily and picked up Gail Jr before rushing out of the office. He could not believe how quickly the conversation had turned back into his favour and he did not want to hang around in case Gail changed her mind.

'Freddie Krueger, really?' Lucas asked in disbelief, turning her around to face him and staring dominantly into her eyes in order to establish her play here.

'Is this really what you want to do while we have this large desk all to ourselves?' Gail retorted teasingly, as she backed up and pushed the reports off of Adam's desk.

'You're playin' me' Lucas advised, not being fooled by her act.

Gail just shrugged feigning innocence and jumped onto the desk, opening her legs wide so he could see her red lace panties.

Lucas shook his head in mock disapproval, unable to resist her when she got into one of these playful moods, then approached her slowly and ripped off her panties roughly, smiling triumphantly at her deep intake of breath and the desire he saw in her eyes.

Gail ran her hands up his chest and began unbuttoning his shirt slowly, knowing that he would not want to rush when she was willing to allow him to take her on the Mayors desk. This act would make his visits to this office much more enjoyable, and she knew how much he would love watching Adam feign importance behind his desk when they were about to defile it.

'Defile is such a judgemental word for our union Love' Lucas panted against her neck, as her hands moved to his pants and pulled his zipper down.

'Oh our union is sacred Soulmate, but what I'm willing to allow you do to me here is definitely not going to be pure' Gail laughed and smiled as he sunk his teeth into her neck, sensing his control on his composure slipping.

Lucas licked the small drop of blood that escaped as he pierced her skin, then pushed her down hard on the desk and bit his bottom lip in anticipation as he began to take her roughly.

Caleb cycled causally through the peaceful streets on his way home, contemplating what he was going to do for his drama assignment which was due tomorrow. It was his own fault really, he had been too preoccupied with his friends to focus on making a costume for the Halloween play and he had left it far too late to get anything suitable. He had no intention of being on stage for long, he thought all that kind of humiliation would be behind him from Elementary School; however, he still took pride in himself and refused to have the worst costume even if he did intend on being invisible at the back, it was a shame he had left himself little time to actually make a proper effort.

Suddenly, the chain on his bicycle snapped and he went flying over the handle bars. Caleb closed his eyes in anticipation of his face hitting the tree he was hurtling towards, then opened one eye cautiously when he felt his behind on the wet ground and stared confused at his Grandfather Malcolm, who looked as shocked as he was for his miraculously uninjured landing.

'Curse it all to hell!' Caleb snapped, as he stood up abruptly and began brushing off his jeans. 'Thanks, I guess' he said courteously, as he poked his finger through the hole in his jeans and knew that his Mother was going to kill him for ruining yet another pair.

Malcolm smiled, admiring the boy's natural instinct to pick himself up and show good manners. He was impressed at how Caleb had managed to land so carefully, considering he had yanked the chain hard while the boy was distracted and he had no time to see it coming. He did not want to hurt his Grandson, he just wanted him to stop focussing on mundane things and wanted to persuade him back around to their Halloween fun with his friend Boone.

'You're very welcome' Gail said sarcastically, staring directly at Malcom and amused that neither of them had sensed her presence, even though she was the one who had released her darkness to cushion Caleb's fall.

Caleb took in a sharp intake of breath and watched as Malcolm disappeared quickly, leaving him to explain the banned company he was keeping.

'There's no explanation necessary, I'm over trying to guide you to the right path. It's about time you made your own mistakes without any bail outs...A little actual gratitude for stopping you from breaking your neck would be nice though, rather than you automatically believe it's your homicidal Grandfather' Gail sighed, frowning as she examined the wound on Caleb's knee and shook her head at his damaged bicycle.

'How'd you know to help?' Caleb asked confused, trying to hide his upset over the pain in his leg and focus on his broken bicycle.

'Because unlike you, I'm always observant no matter how well protected I may believe I am' Gail mock scolded, then cupped his cheek gently and placed a soft kiss on his cheek, choosing not to inform him of who was behind his chain breaking.

Caleb felt a warmness come over him at her touch and smiled, feeling the pain in his knee fading. 'How come you're here?' he asked curiously, limping towards his bicycle and attempting to pull it up.

Gail watched as his Father's stubbornness shone through and he felt the need to appear strong, even though she sensed how upset he was. God forbid he be a child and acknowledge his wounds, but he was a male Buck and the appearance of strength always overpowered any genuine emotion. 'I heard you've got an assignment due and it appears we're assisting with the annual big Halloween party now, so I thought you might wanna tag along while we look for some spooky materials' she smiled, linking his arm to provide some support and guiding him towards her car.

'We?' Caleb asked confused, then spotted his Sister trying to force herself out of her car seat to get to them while Luke attempted to keep her in securely.

'I'm a full time Housewife remember? I can't go anywhere without those two' Gail answered in frustration, then forced a smile for her youngest children and signalled for Caleb to get into her car while she placed the bicycle in the trunk.

Caleb waved at his kin as he got into the front passenger seat and smiled when Gail joined them in the car, happy that her earlier mood with him had shifted. 'Where to now?' he asked excitedly, sensing an air of mischief in the car.

'Well, your Father's tension has been relieved for the time being so that gives us a few hours before he feels the need to poke his head into our business...What's say we spread our wings and go for an explore before our usual compliance resumes? Your choice' she answered playfully, nudging Caleb playfully to show there would be no restrictions.

Caleb thought for a moment, then smiled. 'I've got a place I ain't been allowed to go in a while'

'Great, no telling your Daddy. This is our adventure alone' Gail warned Luke and Gail Jr in the back, then turned on the engine and accelerated down the road, allowing Caleb to guide them.
