The legacy of the Weltkrieg, apparent. Germany once again stood victorious over the twice humiliated former Syndicalist hotbeds, the homes of the scarlet revolutions of the late 1910s, and early 1920s.

The Commune of France and the Union of Britain, both humiliated and brought to heel by the combined might of the Entente, and the Reichspakt.

Though victorious once more against the Anglos and the descendants of Gaul, Germany had suffered it's fair share of territory in the war.

Few territories in Africa remain under the control of the Kaiser, and Asia lost almost entirely to the Japanese empire.

Whilst the Reichspakt in Europe held at bay the hordes of a newly resurgent Russian Empire under the Black Baron of Russia, Pytor Wrangel, a new war was waged in the shadows for a time, Der kalte Krieg, The Cold War.

A war between the Entente and the Reichspakt. One which has only remained "cold" with the introduction of a new resource to the mixture that made up what Humanity knows as. War.

The resource of Uranium. Though in this conflict, the Kaiserreich stood between two sides which would see it fall. Wrangel and his Russian Empire to the East, and the newly returned colonial powers of the British and the French, backed by the United States under a "temporary" junta lead by the American Caesar, Douglas MacArthur.

However, this Cold War has lasted for three decades. New faces, new players have taken the places of the old.. For over 30 years, the Kaiserreich's survival has only been thanks to it's continuous build up of nuclear and hydrogen bombs.

Stationing these weapons though across her empire, from the continent of Deutsch Afrika, and what few little outposts that did survive the Japanese onslaught, however her allies were left wanting, though they have been permitted to hold lesser, atomic arsenals.

Even still, technological advancement and weapons of mass destruction continue not just for the Kaiserreich and her allies, Russia to the east builds her armies, and nuclear weapons, Britain, France, and America remain guarded, building their arsenals.

The balance of power, is about to change in Europe, forever as the Kaiserreich would vanish from the face of the earth, not by nuclear fire... But merely by means and forces mankind cannot fathom.

23rd of August, 1979, Berlin, The German Empire.

Kaiser Louis Ferdinand, the fifth German Emperor, could merely only sigh to himself. The day which laid out before him was... Different from any other of his past, when he ascended to the throne, after the death of his father, Wilhelm III, in 1951.

The years wore long on the Kaiser, but... This? He'd lived to see the final victory of the first and second Weltkrieg, a mere child when France was forced to the humiliating treaty of Versallies, formulated in the very same halls the German Empire were founded in, 48 years before that point.

And again as a grown man, in 1946, when the Union of Britain was forced to capitulate to pressure from both the Reichspakt, and the Entente.

But this? Everything he'd heard since awakening in the Berlin Palace made no sense to him. Satellites unable to be contacted? The very borders of the German Empire, shared once with their allies in the east, were gone. The lands of the Entente to the west, gone, the Swiss and Austro-Hungarians to the south, also gone. Replaced with stretches of open water, for miles as far as the Germans could tell, without sending out the High Seas Fleet to scout the area.

However, even that was being debated by the National Emergency Committee. Kaiser Ferdinand had excused himself from the meeting, earlier in the day for in this situation, he had no wisdom to recall, no advice to offer, nothing that could be done, realistically, he knew that better than anyone else.

At the end of the day, even with Germany's place in the sun, he'd not seek to impede those who might stifle themselves out of reflex, for the chance the Kaiser himself might have wisdom, or some kind of plan to deal with this... Unexpected turn of events.

Hours would pass before the Kaiser would return to the meeting, just as the committee came to a unanimous decision, with the Kaiser in absentia.

The High Seas Fleet would indeed be deployed to patrol around the new waters which surrounded the German Empire's territory. Long range bombers would be deployed, refitted with extra fuel tanks in lieu of their usual bomb loads so that they may extend their range.

Further hours would pass before the National Emergency Committee would receive detailed reports of a large continent to the North of the new area the German Empire was brought unto.

To the North, the territory that laid nearest to the German Empire, laid a continent as far as the Luftstreitkräfte could tell. Further investigations would have to be done by the Kaiserliche Marine and the High Seas Fleet.

When the report reached the Kaiser's desk, personally. As he read over it. He could hardly believe what he read. The crew of one particular bomber encountered unknown forces... Utilising dragons, or wyverns. Such a claim! These men must've been reading too much of the old Tolkien novels, surely!

Perhaps they had partaken in some foreign substance from America, or god knows where! They let their minds wander on such long flights, their eyes had to have been playing tricks on them, perhaps too much of the schnapps!

...But considering these were men of multiple sorties over the north sea, men trusted with Germany's strongest weapons, the nuclear and hydrogen bombs... They...

They couldn't be lying.. If they were, this report wouldn't be on his desk. They weren't they only crew to go out to the North. With this in mind, Kaiser Ferdinand would read over the next reports from the crews sent to the North, in uncomfortable acceptance of what he'd read. They acclaimed the same. Wyverns utilised as air forces...

Such claims, under normal circumstances would rightfully so be dismissed as evidence of insanity and the crews drummed out of the Luftstreitkräfte, but with multiple air crews reporting the same...

And even pictures in the back of the folders with the reports put on his desk, the Kaiser had no choice but to accept, as those in his armed forces, particularly the bomber command of the Luftstreitkräfte, had done so already.

As such, he'd direct the head of the Kaiserliche Marine, Großadmiral Günter Von Luther to send the High Sees Fleet, North. With a delegation of the Imperial German Government and translators, particularly ones who knew English, French, Russian, and Japanese. Those languages, and German being the dominant ones of the world... Of the old world.

It was decided that this force would be sent out in a few days, so that the proper number of men, provisions, and other materials required for the trip, could be acquired.

25th of August, 1979, Kiel, The German Empire.

The group would leave Kiel and head north aboard the Adler-Class Aircraft Carrier, SMS Von Bismarck, the largest ship of the High Seas Fleet, to be escorted by a mix of destroyers, cruisers, and the upgraded Battleship, Kaiser Wilhelm I.

Heading north to the eastern coastline of the continent where a small portion of cities that were near to the coastline... But what was the most unusual thing about the whole trip were the increase of radio traffic.

Meaning that the Germans weren't the only ones with radios.

And to make matters worse, the translators, when brought to the communications rooms would indeed confirm the greatest worry of the Großadmiral, the radio transmissions were in Japanese.

The worst that the Großadmiral expected of this, was perhaps a diplomatic incident, given the Empire of Japan's hostility against the German Empire, and her Kaiserliche Marine in waters that the IJN acclaimed as their own... But one question did linger in the mind of the 57 year old man.

How in god's name did the Kaiserreich be unfortunately stuck, god know's where, with the Japanese of all possible peoples'.

The question also festered in the mind of Ambassador Wilhelm Reichleitner. He remembered the stories told second hand at the veterans pubs of the IJA, their brutality towards the Germans, execution of POWs in Tsingtao, their purges of the Legation cities, the hordes which threw themselves against the German administration in Indochina.

Wilhelm thought long and hard on what might happen... And less on what might not happen that he missed it entirely when apparently there was a small group of... Literal small boats utilising sails, and one peculiar boat.

The overall design was... Familiar to the Großadmiral but the paint scheme? Not at all. All white, not the standard warship grey. The flag was indeed familiar, it was the red dot on a white background that was well known to be Japanese.

Großadmiral Von Luther would return to the bridge of the Von Bismarck, taking his seat and taking the microphone for the internal ship comm.

"All ships come to halt but general quarters, no movement on the guns, unless we are fired upon. Let the Japanese make the first move, a limited number of personnel are allowed on deck with life preservers and helmets." The Großadmiral would order to the men of the Von Bismarck, naturally his order would also be relayed via the radio room to the rest of the German fleet.

Of course in the most typical of German fashion, the orders would be followed to a T, as the Germans watched from their ships to see what the Japanese would do.

With the Japanese they were familiar with, if anyone was going to fire the first shot, Großadmiral Von Luther full well intended it be the Japanese to do so.

However, the most surprising turn of events would occur when the Japanese ship pulled along side the SMS Von Bismarck, though not with any attempt made to board, the Germans watched one man from the apparent Japanese ship, emerged with a megaphone.

"Attention to the unknown vessel, please identify yourselves! This is the Japanese coast guard ship, Esan!" The man on the deck would say into the megaphone, as he looked up at the German sailors on their vessel, surprisingly the man spoke in English, albeit with a heavy Japanese accent.

One of the sailors on the vessel, Hermann Turnau would look over to his colleagues, snapping at them to get their attention before he'd speak.

"One of you go get the Großadmiral!" Hermann would yell loudly in German, so that the Japanese sailor could hear.

With that, one of the sailors in the group on the Germans' side would leave, returning with Großadmiral Von Luther who would order a boarding ramp be brought up and lowered for the Japanese.

This would take about an hour.

After it was set up and done, the Japanese and an unexpected third and fourth parties would be guided aboard the SMS Von Bismarck's deck where the Großadmiral, Ambassador Reichleitner and his translator for Japanese would meet with the group.

It would turn out in that time as well, a table with... Surprisingly not enough chairs would've been set up. Though the Großadmiral and Ambassador Reichleitner would be put in the position of the standing party, rather than leave a poor impression on the three apparent representatives of Japan, and two other nations. Qua-Toyne, and Quila, the three apparent representatives were, firstly.

A bespectacled man by the name of Tanaka Kazuhisa, clean suit like one out of a hugo boss catalogue.

Second, were apparent someone Tanaka knew well enough, a man named Yagou from the Qua-Toyne Principality.

Lastly, were a tall beastman named Jurdan.

It would turn out, further. The Luftstreitkräfte accidentally violated the airspace of Quila. For which, Ambassador Reichleitner would profusely apologise for.

"It was not the intention of His Majesty's government, or his Armed Forces to knowingly violate the airspace, or sovereignty of any nation. It may indeed be odd, however as one can guess, we are not of this world, so our surroundings are... A virtual unknown to us." Reichleitner would say in German, whilst his translator would translate as he spoke, in Japanese... Which... As another surprise, would apparently be the only shared language, spoken by the three parties he met with.

However, instead of questions from the Japanese, there was an uncomfortable silence whilst Ambassador Reichleitner did indeed answer a few questions to the best of his ability for the apparent representatives from Quila and Qua-Toyne, the questions themselves were of a... General information nature about the German Empire, and apparently if it were anything like Japan, however after that question was answered with the worst answer one could give in such a situation...

The dreaded. "I'm unsure.", a silence descended upon the group before attention was

"Mister... Reichleitner." Tanaka would say after a bit of silence.

"Yes?" Reichleitner would reply.

"You say, you're the chosen representative here, of... The German Empire... And you say your nation is here in full, with a Kaiser..?" Tanaka would ask, probing.

"Naturally." Reichleitner would reply, an eyebrow naturally being raised in curiosity towards this line of questioning.

"I ask, merely because... Where we come from, there is indeed a Germany, but it is not... What you say... The German Empire, it has not existed under that name since 1918." Tanaka would state.

A chill would run down Reichleitner's spine, though he'd not show it, nor the instant shot to his nerves at such a statement. The German Empire ceasing to exist? Nonsense! Utter nonsense that only a lunatic in an asylum would ever dare to spout! ...Certainly 1918 was indeed a breaking point but she survived the first weltkrieg, and then the second as well!

"Mister Tanaka... I assure you. The Kaiserreich stands, I shall admit, as shall any German, 1918 was a year where the Empire was almost at a breaking point. However, this was thankfully averted after our victory during the Kaiserschlact, the French lines broke as revolution fermented on their homefront, and we finally, like in 1871, laid siege to Paris. ...I'd explain further but, our history books would best explain everything. Our victory during the first and second weltkriegs." Reichleitner would affirm.

The German Empire may have well enough died on the field of the first weltkrieg, wherever he came from, but the German Empire was here, before his eyes, and for the whole world to see.

The Kaiser stood, the High Seas Fleet stood, her Armies still stood.

Japan would indeed have a new, unexpected rival on this new world stage.

One the Kaiserreich would indeed prove itself, worthy of such title.
