Behold a different version of Imps and the Bear.
Chapter 1
Striker and Blitzo emerged from the portal back into the I.M.P office.
"Are we the champions or what, Striker?" Blitzo asked.
"Is that a serious question?" Striker replied and the two high-fived.
Then more imps jumped behind them. Kaitlin, Kore, Seth, and Adeline changed from humans, back into imps.
"Are we badass or what?" Kore asked.
"Hell yeah!" Kaitlin answered and the two fist-bumped.
"Good work as always, Clayton," Jane said as she kissed Striker on the cheek, making him blush.
"Maria and I couldn't have done it without you," said Serenity.
"That was fun!" Jake said.
"It was!" Maria agreed.
"With you guys, it's ten times the fun," Seth told them.
"Thanks, Seth," Jake and Maria said in unison.
"We are strong together," Adeline said and she, Seth, Jake, and Maria wrapped their arms around each other.
"Aww, they make a good team," Blitzo gushed. "How about some pizza?"
"Oh, good because I'm starving!" Millie said.
"Me, too," said Moxxie.
…
Everyone in the I.M.P office was enjoying their pizza. The flavors were pepperoni and cheese.
"Ordering pizza was a good idea, Blitz," Kaitlin said with her mouth slightly full and swallowed.
"It sure was," Blitz agreed, his mouth also full.
"Stuffed crust is the best part," Seth said.
"The cheesier the better," said Kore.
"I'll say," said Kaitlin.
"Yummy pizza," Adeline said.
"Yes, yummy pizza." Kaitlin tickled her stomach.
After finishing their meal, they took the elevator down to the van, carrying the boxes of leftover pizza.
…
When Blitzo and the others returned home from their job at I.M.P, Blitzo parked the van in the driveway slowly. Once he put the gear in park, everyone opened the door and stepped out of the van, their feet landing on the hard pavement street as they did.
They went over to the house and stepped inside with Kore turning on the light.
Kaitlin went into the kitchen to get red wine out of the fridge and helped herself to a glass of wine.
She went into the cabinet and grabbed a wine glass to enjoy her wine. She sat on a bar stool and sipped the wine, which tasted cold and crisp and that was the way she liked it.
"Hey, Kaitlin," a familiar female voice said.
Kaitlin turned around to see who called her name. "Oh, hey, Kore. Would you like some wine?"
"Love to." Kore sat next to her.
Kaitlin returned to the cabinet and grabbed a wine glass and poured a glass for Kore.
Kaitlin sipped her wine. "Ah! Those doctors who murdered their patients. What were they thinking? Someone should've done a damn background check on them, sue them, or file a restraining order on them. Do you have any idea how many people lose their license or go to jail and/or prison for doing that shit? Fuck them!"
"Right." Kore sipped her wine. "Oh, fuck, it's crisp!"
"Is it good?"
"Good? It's delicious!" Kore chuckled a bit as she set her glass down.
Kaitlin gave her a thumbs up. "Oh, good."
"Yeah, those doctors were clearly in the wrong. In fact, they shouldn't have been doctors in the first place."
"It makes my day to see the cops arrest their sorry asses."
"Mine, too." Kore sipped her wine.
Kaitlin sipped hers, too. "Thankfully, not all doctors are that evil."
"That's right. Maybe the chief doctor was afraid to stand up to them, so we did her a favor."
"Yeah, but at least we killed them in self-defense before they got a chance to kill us."
"Normal doctors don't kill patients, they save them."
"Exactly."
"Ladies, sorry to bother you, but may I join you?" a short imp with short hair asked.
"No worries, Millie, you're not bothering us," Kaitlin assured Millie, "Please, join us."
Millie went into the kitchen to join the girls for drinks. Then another female imp. Then another.
"Hey, guys, can I join you?" the hellhound asked.
"Sure, Loona," Kore replied and Loona sat with the ladies.
"Well, Mox and Strikes, it's just us manly men," Blitzo said as he watched Loona and other women drink wine.
"Yep, no question about it," said Striker.
"And don't forget about the kids," Moxxie said, gesturing towards Adeline, Jake, Maria, and Seth.
"Hey, kids, how about some lemonade?" Striker offered.
"Yeah!" the kids answered cheerfully.
"I'll pour you guys each a glass," Blitzo said as he made his way in the kitchen. Luckily for him, the women were too distracted to notice him walk into the kitchen while they talked and drank as he went to the fridge and got out a jug of lemonade.
Moxxie and Striker joined him in the kitchen in case things went wrong. So they went into the cabinet and each got two cups and set them on the table next to the jug.
Blitzo poured lemonade into each cup with the kids entering the kitchen and Moxxie and Striker each carried two cups, handing them to each child.
After thanking their father and Moxxie and Blitzo, they left the kitchen with their lemonade.
"We got rid of them, didn't we?" Blitzo asked.
"Yep, sure did," Moxxie replied with a nod.
"Hey, ladies, I hope you don't mind us joining you," Striker said as he made his way into the kitchen.
"Not at all," Kaitlin said, "Feel free to join us."
The trio of imps each sat on a bar stool.
"Kate, can I get three drinks? I mean, one for Moxxie, one for Striker, and one for me?" Blitzo asked.
"Right away." Kaitlin went to the cabinet to get three wine glasses and set them on the kitchen table, but not without closing the cabinet door. She poured the red wine into each glass and passed them onto Blitzo, Striker, and Moxxie. "Here you go, gentlemen."
Moxxie took the first sip. "Boy, is this crisp!"
"It's cold and crisp," Kaitlin said, giving him a thumbs up. She filled a glass of water in the sink for Moxxie, knowing how he was whenever he drank alcohol ever since the incident at spring break at the beach.
"Let me try, Moxxie," Blitzo said and sipped his wine. "Oh, fuck, you're right! It's so damn crisp! That's good!"
A few sips later, Moxxie felt a bit buzzed. "Fuck those damn doctors!" He tossed his glass on the floor, shattering all of its contents and laughed hysterically as he'd done so.
"Shit, he's losing it!" Millie shouted, but on the other hand, she couldn't help but giggle in agreement. "That's why they end up here!"
"Here's some water, Mox," Kaitlin said, handing Moxxie a glass of water to Millie's relief.
Striker sipped his wine. "Ah, crisp! I love it!"
…
Later, Blitzo tapped on a glass with a fork to have everyone's full attention.
"I'll get the kids, Blitz," Striker told him and left the kitchen to find his children. He called their names. "Adeline! Jake! Maria! Seth!"
"Yes, Daddy?" Maria asked as she and her siblings stepped out of a bedroom.
"Blitzo is announcing something."
"Announcing what?" Seth asked.
"I don't know, but we'll find out."
The kids didn't understand, either, but they followed their father anyway with their empty cups and put them in the dishwasher with all the other dirty dishes. Then, they closed the dishwasher door and sat on the bar stools by their mothers and Striker sat along with them.
"Attention, everyone," Blitzo announced, "Great work on killing the murderous doctors as a team. We couldn't have done it without Striker and his wives and kids, our full-fledged assassins."
"Great job, kids," Millie praised the children, "And you, too, Striker."
"Thanks, Mildred."
"And kudos to you, too, ladies," Moxxie said to Jane, Kaitlin, Kore, and Serenity.
"Thanks, Mox," Serenity said.
"And we're going to take the rest of the week off," Blitzo concluded.
"Yeah!" everyone cheered and they drank water to hydrate since most of them drank.
