Chapter 7 The Disaster

(Chase and Marshall make it up to the top of the lookout to see Skye and Alex playing Pup-Pup Boogie together)

(The for opens and Chase stands there and stares for a second)

Marshall: Chase, you good?

Chase: Huh? Oh… Yeah! I'm fine.

Marshall: Come on.

Chase: I'm coming.

(Skye notices them behind her)

Skye: There's Marshall!

(Alex turns around to see Marshall)

Alex: Hey, Marshall!

(Alex runs up to hug him)

(Marshall is caught off guard by this and tenses up)

(Alex picks Marshall up and hugs him)

Alex: I haven't seen you in forever!

Marshall: Yeah. It's been a minute!

(Alex sets Marshall down on his back feet first and Marshall yelps and falls from not being able to put weight on his leg)

Alex: Oh my gosh! Are you okay?! I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you.

Marshall: It's fine. You mind helping me back up?

Alex: Of course!

(Alex helps stand Marshall back up)

Marshall: Thanks.

Alex: No problem. What happened to you?

Marshall: We were all playing volleyball in the yard when I went to chase a ball and ended up falling off of a cliff.

Alex: Wow! That must have hurt. Can you still use your leg?

Marshall: Not for another week. Then I will have to do stuff to help make it strong again.

Alex: What have you done while you can't use it?

Marshall: A whole lot of nothing really.

Alex: That doesn't sound fun.

Marshall: Nope. It's not.

Alex: You want to see what Skye was teaching me about Pup-Pup Boogie?

Marshall: Sure! Can you take me over to that chair first though?

Alex: Yeah!

(Alex picks Marshall back up and takes him over to the chair Marshall was talking about)

Marshall: Thank you! Now show me what Skye taught you!

Alex: Okay!

(Alex starts to play Pup-Pup Boogie with Skye)

(After a minute, Marshall notices Chase sitting behind them watching)

(Marshall decides to hop over to sit next to Chase.

(He tries to hop down out of the bean-bag chair but falls and lands on his face)

(Marshall and Chase both just laugh)

(Marshall gets up and sits next to Chase)

Marshall: What are you sitting back here for?

Chase: No reason.

(At first Marshall doesn't understand but then catches Chase's drift)

Marshall: I see now.

(Rocky decides to head upstairs and make sure everything is going well)

(Rocky gets to the top floor and stands by Marshall)

Marshall: Hey Rocky! Alex is showing us this new song he learned.

Rocky: Oh nice! Wait, (He recognizes the song) how long has he been going for?

Chase: About 5 minutes.

Rocky: Okay, because that is the longest song in the game.

Chase: Really?!

Rocky: Yeah, it's 8 minutes long.

Marshall: 8 minutes?! Good thing he isn't going to play it again.

Alex: (Notices Rocky) Oh hey Rocky! I got to show you this song I just learned. Here, let me restart the song.

Marshall: Uh-oh…

(Alex restarts the song and they watch him play it again. After a long 8 minutes, the song ends)

Alex: (Out of breath) Phew, that song drains you!

Chase: Yeah, I bet I couldn't go for that long!

(Ryder had come up the elevator right as the song ended and the 3 pups didn't notice)

Ryder: You should try it Chase!

The 3 Pups: AHHH! (They all jump backwards, including Marshall)

(Alex catches Marshall)

Marshall: Nice catch Alex! Thanks!

Alex: No problem!

Ryder: Sorry, didn't mean to scare you guys.

Chase: That's okay.

Ryder: Chase, you and Rocky should go against each other in that song.

Marshall: (silently trying to tell Ryder no)

Ryder: (doesn't see Marshall's hint) Here, I'll start the song for you.

Marshall: *groans*

Alex: (Sets Marshall down on the bean-bag-chair next to him) Can you tell me what happened to you? I think I know what happened but I'm not 100% sure.

Marshall: (In head) How long is he going to stay for? Because I don't think I'g going to make it.

Marshall: Well, (he tells the story of what happened)

Alex: Wow. Did it hurt really bad?

Marshall: Yeah. I kinda forgot what happened after the initial impact. I just remember flying in a helicopter.

Alex: Don't you hate flying?

Marshall: Yeah. A lot.

Alex: Dang. You must have had a really bad day.

Marshall: Yup. And a bad week.

Alex: How much longer are you not able to walk for?

Marshall: Just a few more days and I'll be starting rehab and wearing a knee brace for a few months.

Alex: That's good! Now you'll be back to saving me when I set Grandpa's kitchen on fire.

(Marshall laughed)

Alex: Yeah, it's weird when the Paw Patrol is out and about and you're not with them.

Marshall: I miss it and I'm glad I am almost good to go again.

Alex: I'm ready to see you back in action!

Marshall: Me too! Now, you may want to get going because I'm sure your Grandp….

Alex: He said I can stay as long as I want until dark and if you don't need me to go.

Marshall: Oh… that's great…

Alex: I know. If only you could play games.

Marshall: I wish I could.

(Rocky & Chase finish the song and walk over to Marshall and Alex)

(Chase gets there and collapses on Marshall)

Marshall: oof… Chase, you good?

Chase: (Out of breath) yeah… just… tired.

Rocky: Same here.

Marshall: Hey Rocky, can I talk to you for a second?

Rocky: Yeah sure. Here.

(Rocky puts Marshall on his back and carries him outside to the balcony and sets him down)

Rocky: What's up…

Marshall: I need to go to the bathroom.

Rocky: You said you didn't have to go.

Marshall: I didn't and then Ryder scared me.

Rocky: Well, I'll take you down as fast as possible without drawing any attention.

Marshall: Okay.

(Rocky takes Marshall back inside and sets him back down on the bean-bag-chair)

Rocky: Alright, I think Marshall and I…

Skye: Hey Rocky, I challenge you to a dance off.

Rocky: Um… well… see…

Skye: Come on!

(Skye pushes Rocky over to the dance pad and starts the game)

(The 8 minute song starts to play)

Marshall: Umm… Rocky?

Rocky: (Can't hear Marshall because the music is too loud)

(Zuma comes up the elevator after hearing the song and Marshall doesn't notice Zuma behind him)

(Zuma decides to scare him for the fun of it)

Zuma: Boo!

Marshall: Ahhhhhh! (Jumps and lands in Ryders lap)

Marshall: Nice catch Ryder. Also, I need you to take me outside quickly so I can go to the bathroom.

Ryder: Okay. Just don't pee on me.

Marshall: Okay (laughs)

(They get on the elevator and the doors close. The sudden jolt in the elevator catches Marshall off-guard and its now a race to the grass)

Marshall: Ryder! Hurry!

Ryder: I'm trying. This elevator doesn't go any faster.

(The elevator dings, and it opens to Ryder holding Marshall while wet from the waist down)

Marshall: Umm…. This is so embarrassing…

Ryder: Well, looks like both of us need a bath now.

Marshall: Yup.
