Blitz was out in imp city, doing some shopping for the week, Loona was back at the apartment, it seemed like she had something to tell him but as usual he didn't listen. As he walks out of the grocery store an alarm starts to blair loudly and chaos erupts around him. Imps scamper and scream, taking cover wherever they can. Doors and windows lock, blinds and curtains are closed. The cleansing had begun.
His eyes widen and he drops his grocery bags, "Oh no fuckin way." He looks to the sky as a portal starts to open up, a blinding white light coming from it, he scoops up his bags and runs to his car, slamming the door shut and flooring it out of there, as he races through the streets his car starts to slow out of nowhere before screeching to a halt, he'd managed to pull to the side of the road before his tank had run out of gas, for a moment he considers staying put and hiding inside his car.
But he quickly abandons the idea when he sees an angel crush the car in front of him as it lands. He gulps, and rushes out, running as fast as he can towards any available building but each one he gets to is locked up tight, he hears a loud explosion somewhere behind him as he ducks into an alleyway, how could he have forgotten that the cleanse was today? He didn't have time to worry about that now though, he needed to find cover and fast, he tried to think as he ran, could he go to Moxxie and Millie's place? No, Moxxie would have the place locked up tight, damn his paranoid ass. Back to his apartment? No, that was way too far, he'd never make it, plus he couldn't put Loona in danger. The office? It wasn't too far, he might actually be able to make it.
He keeps to the alleyways, narrowly avoiding getting killed. He pants heavily leaning against a building, he could see his office from where he stood, only one problem, he would have to cross the street which was littered with angels killing imps and sinners left and right. There was no way he'd make it, but he had nowhere else to go, this was his only choice, he swallows thickly. And makes a run for it. He was almost to the door of the office when he was suddenly thrown backwards, the door getting smaller as it got further away as he was tossed into the street, a loud crack could be heard he couldn't tell if it was from him or someone else, he coughs and gasps, the wind being knocked out of him. He scrambles backwards the best he can as the angel that towers over him prepares to make the killing blow. Blitz looks away, covering his face with his arm, tensing as he waits for the killing blow to be struck, but that doesn't happen. He cracks his eyes open and sees Stolas.
Stolas had grabbed the angel's spear, saving Blitz from his fate. He sent the angel flying backwards with a demonic screech, his full demon form coming out to play. His screech sends many of the angels flying backwards. Blitz watches in awe, he couldn't believe Stolas had come to save him. He then felt guilty, Stolas was a prince, he of all people should be hidden away, kept safe from the angels that attacked hell. And yet, here he was to save him. He watched in both amazement and horror as Stolas ripped the angels to pieces, when they were all gone, Stolas took him into an alleyway before turning back into himself, his back to the street.
"Are you alright Blitzy?" Stolas askes, his voice laced with concern as he cupped Blitz's cheek.
Blitz wants to push Stolas away, and berate him for putting himself at risk just to save him, but he can't bring himself to do it, "Yeah, I'm okay Stolas, thanks to you that was amazing."
"Of course BlitZY-" His voice becomes higher as he is impaled through his chest by a spear, nearly hitting Blitz in the face. He can't bring himself to say anything, he gasps softly, falling to the ground and playing dead, somewhat breaking Stolas' fall. As soon as the angel is gone, Blitz sits up and cradles Stolas in his arms, "Stolas, no, nononono. Stolas, speak to me! You can't die not like this! I- I love you!" He sobs out.
Stolas smiles tiredly at him, "I love you too, Blitz." He gently cups his cheek and kisses him one last time, he then falls limp, his final breath leaving his beak.
Blitz screams out in agony, holding Stolas' corpse close to his chest and sobbing violently. He couldn't stay out here, more angels would be around soon, he drags Stolas into his office, laying him down on a couch. He rushes to find first aid supplies, refusing to believe Stolas was really gone, as he gathers up what little first aid supplies he had, another explosion shakes the building and causes Stolas' grimoire to fall into Blitz's lap. Blitz looks at it, his eyes sparking with hopeful tears. He carries the book over to Stolas, desperately flipping through the pages for something, anything that would help. He was losing hope as he nears the end of the book but just before the last page, he saw it, a healing spell. He hopes it will work, he had no idea how strong the spell was but he had to try. Taking a deep breath he stands reading the words off the page as it begins to glow. He looks between the words and Stolas, and a small smile appears on his face as he sees Stolas' wound closing. The spear disappeared from his chest and by the time Blitz was done, all that was left as evidence of the attack was the blood on Stolas' clothes. He drops the grimoire and removes Stolas' shirt, pressing the side of his face to Stolas' chest.
"Come on Stolas. Don't leave me." He says softly, and then he feels it, the slow rise and fall of Stolas' chest. He was alive. Tears of relief flood Blitz's eyes as he hears Stolas groan and sit up.
"Blitzy?" He asks confusedly, holding his head in one of his hands, "What… happened?" He asks softly, looking around. He sees his grimoire on the ground and when he sees what page it's open to, his eyes widen in understanding. He had just died, and Blitz had saved him.
Blitz doesn't answer him, instead letting out a cry of joy and eagerly capturing his lips in a kiss.
Stolas, despite being shocked, certainly wasn't complaining, he melts into the kiss, wrapping his arms around Blitz, cradling him in his arms.
Everything was going to be fine.
